Review: If I Were You by Lisa Renee Jones

Darkly compelling, If I Were You will draw you in and leave you panting for more.

Sara McMillan finds herself enthralled with a woman in a journal. Who is she? Where is she? Rebecca Mason left her life boxed up in an abandoned storage unit. Sara thinks there is something sinister to her disappearance. Seeking her out Sara enters Rebecca’s world. There’s something about the journals that rubs at Sara. She feels connected to her. They have much in common. But how far into Rebecca’s world will Sara truly go?

I was riveted to this story. Sara quickly becomes swept up in Rebecca’s life at an Art Gallery. This is Sara’s dream job, but dreams don’t pay the bills so she shelved them a long time ago. Jumping at the opportunity to fill Rebecca’s shoes she meets Chris Merit a successful and attractive artist. He warns her away from him and the art gallery, but unable to resist her and wanting to protect her from her new boss he entangles himself with her. Chris and Sara aren’t so different. They both have shadows they keep buried. They both want control. Hot, smiting passion quickly engulfs them. Neither her or Chris have felt so alive in a very long time. But, can Sara fulfill what he needs? And what about her boss, Mark? Is he the man from Rebecca’s journals? What happened to Rebecca?

The glimpses we got of Rebecca’s journal had me as compelled as Sara was. Be warned this story will suck you in and leave you hanging. It has a cliffhanger that will leave you screaming and frustrated in the end.

I HATE frustrating endings, but I really like the idea behind this book.
