Blog Tour and Giveaway: Beck by Harper Sloan

Dee appears to be in control of all things at all times.  She doesn’t let anyone see that she is suffering from her own demons from the past.  She carefully masks her problems so that no one else knows they are there.  Well, one person sees through her masks, he is the one she almost let in, almost took the chance with but then her world came tumbling down once more and she has tried to push him away ever since.  The only problem is that he refuses to be pushed away and may be the only person who truly knows her.

Beck has wanted Dee since he first lays eyes on her.  He sees past all the hurt and pain she carefully covers up when she is with her friends.  He doesn’t know what has caused her to be this way but he knows that it has damaged Dee.  He refuses to give up on her, even when others believe that he should.  No one knows what has really happened between him and Dee, but he does and it’s something he doesn’t want to lose.  He is determined to break down her walls and make Dee his once and for all.

Dee has gone through so much that a lessor woman would have totally fallen apart way before Dee did.  I can only imagine the pain she felt and the secrets that she kept locked deep inside.  It has damaged her, almost to the point where no one will be able to put the pieces back together.  Could she be a major bitch at times to Beck?  Yes she sure could, did he deserve it?  No not at all.  Did she want to let him into her heart?  Yes, but she was scared too.

Beck has more patience than a lot of men ever would.  He is a great guy who wants to heal Dee’s pain and refuses to give up on her even when everyone would have.  He knows that what they have is real and something special.  The fact that he doesn’t give up makes him one of the great ones in my opinion.  I fell more in love with Beck the more I read.

I am going to warn you that this one will tear at your emotions and for me, I was balling like a baby at times.  I just couldn’t believe what I had read and it broke me in two.  I won’t tell what happens, but it is something that I never saw coming.

Beck is the third book in the Corps Security series and for me this is the best one yet.  I have fallen for these bad ass boys from book one.  I couldn’t put Beck down and I didn’t want it to end.  I hope that Ms. Sloan has the next book ready soon because I need more of the Corps Security series right now.

Beck is the third story of the Corps Security Series by Harper Sloan. This time we’re with Dee, Isabella’s friend, and Beck, Axel’s friend. Dee has worn a mask for years. She’s so sad, but no one see it. No one, until Beck.

Beck sees Dee and all her problems. He fights for her and supports her as she fights for herself. She’s trying so hard and Beck stands silently by her side. Axel doesn’t see it. Isabella doesn’t see it. No one sees it. They all think Dee is playing Beck. They think they’re playing games with each other. But Beck knows the truth. Dee knows the truth.

In many ways I enjoyed this story. I enjoyed seeing a side to Isabella and Axel’s story I had not seen before. Dee’s story intermingles with Beck and Dee’s story, so I got to see part of the story I had not seen before. In other ways, I was a big frustrated with the story. I found Dee to be a bit trying. I realize she had problems she was working through, but it just wasn’t for me.

Overall it’s a good story. I’m looking forward to the other stories in this series.

About The Author
Harper lives in small town Georgia just a short drive from her hometown of Peachtree City. She (and her 3 daughters) enjoy ruling the house they dubbed 'Estrogen Ocean', much to her husband’s chagrin. Harper has a borderline unhealthy obsession with books; you can almost ALWAYS find her with her ereader attached. As an ex-reviewer and blogger, Harper's passion for reading runs deep. It wasn't until 'Axel' decided to take up residence that she realized her true calling.

She started using writing as a way to unwind when the house went to sleep at night; and with a house full of crazy it was the perfect way to just relax. It didn't take long before a head full of very demanding alphas would stop at nothing to have their story told.
