Blog Tour & Giveaway: Innocence Defied by Lainey Reese

Praise to Lainey Reese!  Innocence Defied is provocative and sensual.  I could not put it down.

Zoe, Oops, Marshall has waited long enough to go after exactly what she wants.  And what she wants is Gage Hollister, her older brother's best friend.  After some clever maneuvering, arrangements are made for her to spend the entire summer with him in New York City.  Now all she has to do is get him to see her as more than Brice’s baby sister and all her dreams will come true.

Gage is shocked to his core when he sees Zoe for the first time in three years.  When did this beautiful, enticing woman emerge?  He knows it's wrong.  He shouldn't want her.  But it's not long before he's completely riveted by her.  However, when his sexual tastes run on the dark side will that send her running or will she be exactly what he's been looking for?

“If I was vanilla, I’d snatch you up and marry you so fast you wouldn’t know what hit you.  Damn the consequences.  But I’m not and you are as vanilla as they come.”

Oh sweet baby J, Gage Hollister has been added to Book Boyfriend status.  He won me over with his Texan southern accent, sweet and kind demeanor, and above all the patience he had and showed to innocent Zoe.  Gage is a Dom.  He's up front and honest from the start with Zoe.  He holds nothing back from her as to what he expects of his subs, what he would expect from her.

“What the heck are you talking about ice cream for?  I hate vanilla. I like mint chip.”

I give Zoe major credit.  While she may be young and innocent, she is strong and fueled by love.  She’s not some naïve girl who goes into this relationship with stars in her eyes.  She actually takes the time to research exactly what BDSM is and finds that it eases her guilt over the dark desires and dreams she’s had of Gage since she was in her early teens.

When the two of them come together it’s molten.  Gage works her, teases and teaches her.  Zoe finally feels like the person she was meant to be.  She’s confident and alive in his arms.  She brings out something in Gage that he’s never experienced before and needs to come to terms with.  But will the euphoric bubble burst when others learn about their relationship?  Can Gage and Brice’s friendship remain intact when he learns what’s been going on between them?  Oh my, my heart stuttered when Brice found out and his reaction to it.  But, I'm not spoiling.  You have to read for yourself.

Innocence Defied is book 3 in the New York series.  If you’ve read 1 and 2, those characters reappear in this one.  I love when an author does that in her series.  Life doesn’t just stop at the end of their book.  Lainey Reese gives us a glimpse of them progressing forward.  Add this one to your TBRs.

Excerpt

When he turned back around, Zoe was on her knees in front of him with her head bowed, her legs spread and her hands behind her back. His heart stopped. To keep himself from reaching for her, he curled his hands into fists at his sides and focused on breathing.
"Is this the right way?" Her voice was soft, tremulous and it stroked tendrils of fire over his cock. "Am I doing it right?"
"Where did you learn about that, Oops?" He tried to keep his own voice level as his mind scrambled for reasons he should be running like hell right now. Problem was, he couldn't think of a damn one.
"I was on the net all night, reading and learning so I can be what you want."
His sigh was part groan, part whimper, and full of defeat. "Aw, baby. You shouldn't have done that. That stuff is not for innocents. It's for people with darker things inside them than you got, sweetheart. You are all sunshine inside, not darkness."
"I'm lying in my bed at the summer house and you sneak in my window in the middle of the night. I'm asleep so I don't hear you. Without waking me, you slide the covers off and pull my panties down. Then you slip my nightgown up and I don't wake up until you are kissing me between my legs."
Gage stood in frozen shock, the image wringing unwelcome lust through his body.
"That was my first fantasy I ever had about you." Her eyes lifted until their gazes met. "I was fourteen. And it's also the tamest."
"Dammit, Oops-" he began, not having a clue what he was going to say when she interrupted again.
"I have one where I'm running through the woods and I can hear you chasing after me. I don't know why I'm running because I want you to catch me so bad, but I can't help it. The running is making me scared a little and I can feel that you are going to make me pay for running and I kinda like that too." He groaned and she stopped for a second before continuing. "When you catch me, you tackle me to the ground and you're pulling off all my clothes and I'm still fighting you, but again I don't know why because I can't wait till you get me naked. And then when I am naked, I flip onto my hands and knees and try to crawl away, but you grab me from behind and you...you-God, you just shove into me and-"
"Christ, Zoe, stop." They were both breathing heavily, and Gage felt himself falling down an endless abyss. And he was terribly afraid there would be no going back.
"My worst one had me so confused before today. I felt so guilty for having it. But it's always there and now I know why. Do you want to hear it?"
Gage didn't answer her with words, but she apparently took his steady look as assent and told him.
"It's back in the Old West days. I'm a saloon girl and you're a gun-slinging gambler. You're at a table playing poker and there are four other men there with you. You have my hands strapped to the ceiling somehow and I'm standing in the middle of the table. All of you play your poker and drink your drinks and act like you can't see me. You all can though, because every once in a while one of you will run your hand up my leg or reach up to touch me between them. Every time one of you wins a hand, the winner gets to take off a piece of my clothes. Once I'm completely naked, the stakes get higher and you get to do things to me. Like kiss my breasts or put your fingers inside me. All of a sudden you shove all your winnings into the middle of the table and bet everything you have on me. And you win. Then you drag me off the table and take me right there. Right in front of them while they all watch." She spread her legs a little wider and lowered her eyes again. "Does that sound like sunshine to you? To me it sounds like I'm perfect for you, and everything I learned about today only makes me more sure about us, not less."
"Stand up." His voice was deep and the tone left no room for disobedience. She stood with a whimper.
"Strip."

AUTHOR BIO:

A note for my readers:
I write books that have very dominant men in them.  The men in my books are fierce and controlling in the bedroom and overbearing and protective out of it.  And the women never have anything to fear because the men would throw themselves in front of a bus before they'd let anything hurt their ladies..including themselves.  I write fiction.  In real life we need to be way more careful and choosey than my heroines are.  Never give up your power or your body to anyone unless you have all the groundwork of safe words and real solid trust in place.  Safe words are non-negotiable- No safe word?  No way.

Now, as for me. I live in a tiny little place called Lake Stevens with my daughter, and our many pets.  I'm an animal lover.  Yup it's true.  I am one of those people who lets the dog on the couch and has cat hair on her sweaters.

I've dreamed of writing since I was twelve and after the reception my first novel received I am kicking myself for not following that dream sooner.  Since my first novel A Table for Three came out I have been a changed person.  My childhood dream has come true and every day away from my computer feels like a waste.  With the release of Damaged Goods I took a leap of faith and left the day job behind.  Every day is a crazy adventure of second guessing my decision and wallowing in the joyful realization that "I don't have to go to work today!"  A realization that I have NEVER had for longer than a week in my entire adult life.

Fate has smiled on me and I am now a full time author!  My dreams are becoming a reality and I have you to thank.  Thank you all for reading and reviewing (those reviews really make a difference).  I hope that this is the start of a long and fabulous life together...you and me...I'll write and you read and together we'll make the world a steamy wonderful place!

I haven't read any of the series yet but I think Damaged Goods would be one I would like to read the most.

I love this series and I did like Gage's story, but Brice is my favorite! I also expected Gage's book to be a little more pervy. LOL
