Bared to You by Sylvia Day

To sum it up: Gideon Cross came into my life like lightning in the darkness— beautiful and brilliant, jagged and white-hot. I was drawn to him as I'd never been to anything or anyone in my life. I craved his touch like a drug, even knowing it would weaken me. I was flawed and damaged, and he opened those cracks in me so easily...

Gideon knew. He had demons of his own. And we would become the mirrors that reflected each other's most private wounds... and desires.

The bonds of his love transformed me, even as I prayed that the torment of our pasts didn't tear us apart...

David Gandy definitely came to mind when I pictured Gideon ♥ (Of course Gideon was described as having much longer hair than in this picture, but this is what worked for me! *shrugs*

Wow. Just... wow. Guess who just added this book under their "favorites" shelf? I DID! I DID! I DID! *happy dance*

This book was freaking fabulous! As you all know, not too many books are fantastic enough to make it to my “favorites” shelf, but I’m so ecstatic to say that this one did! Seriously, this book blew me away- I couldn’t stop reading it, and when I had to put it down, I found myself thinking about when I would be able to pick it back up again.

In all honesty, I was really hesitant about going into this book, because I thought it would be full of sex, sex, and more sex. Nothing bores me more, than reading a book filled with sex on every two pages. I also assumed that the book would have many similarities to The Fifty Shades books, and I absolutely couldn’t get into those for the life of me. But after getting so many recommendations to try this one, and hearing so many good things, I decided to give it a shot anyhow. And boy, am I glad I did…

The entire time I was reading this novel, I found myself wondering how in the world two such dysfunctional people could make a relationship work- their relationship as a whole was intense, complicated, and very emotional. They both have possessive and jealous tendencies, and let’s not forget to mention how freaking explosive the sex is! *fanning myself* …Let’s just say they kept my heart-rate in overdrive! You can’t help but root for both Eva and Gideon on their journey to finding their happily-ever-after. They were both beautiful individuals that carried both heavy burdens and troubles pasts.

There was so much emotional depth to this story, which is an absolute must for me. I was able to sympathize with the characters- from watching Eva struggle with issues of self-esteem as well as both Eva and Gideon trying to over-come their abusive past. I can tell you without a doubt, that this book made me feel.

Everything about the story was just so realistic. I really enjoyed Eva’s character. She admittedly has self-esteem issues… heck! What woman doesn’t? The fact that she can be open and honest with that takes courage and guts, which she has in spades. She’s a challenge to Gideon in more ways than one, and her love and determination for him goes above and beyond. As for Gideon… *moment of silence* …the man is perfection personified. He’s damaged. He’s controlling. He’s possessive. He’s sensuous. He’s dark. He’s AMAZING. The list could go on and on… I’ll definitely be adding him to my list of favorite swoon-worthy heroes. Let’s face it: he’s patient and so very giving of himself. All in all, I’d say he was total sweetness… but did certain things that would definitely qualify him as jerk potential. Which obviously makes him absolutely FLAWLESS in my eyes, since jerks are always going to be my first and favorite type of hero.

After reading Bared to You, Sylvia Day officially has a new fan! She has a true gift of being able to write not only characters full of depth, but being able to portray relationships in their true form: they’re not always easy, and can take hard work and compromise from each person involved to achieve the happy ending that we all look for. Sylvia Day definitely kept me consumed in this story from start to finish, and I’m already counting down the days for Deeper In You to come out… bring on more of Gideon and Eva!

Oh, and one more thing: Gideon is MINE, and I’ll fight every. single. one. of you ladies for him.
