Review: Unexpected Top by Cassandra Carr

A lot of times, romance books are about a new couple or a reunited couple, so it’s refreshing to read stories about a married couple.  Cissy and Len have lost their chemistry and Cissy’s desperate to get back, along with some respect from her husband.  In her research, she learns of a Female-Led-Relationship (FLR).  She decides to take a chance and try some things.  The rest of the story is about the results and their journey together.

One of the things that really stands out for me in this book is that research is done to fix a stale marriage.  It’s about a random interest or whim, but stems from a deep desire to fix the marriage and a desperate need to do whatever it takes even if it means stepping out of her comfort zone.  When they tried some things, it didn’t magically make everything better.  They struggled with how it felt, what it meant, and where they should go from there.

Overall, Unexpected Top is truly a beautiful story about getting that spark back.  Naturally it’s also a very sexy story and sex plays a large part, but it’s the emotion behind it that leaves an impact.  The most important part to me is how much I appreciate the authenticity of the story.  Definitely a really great read!

Thank you for posting this. It seems all the books I've been reading lately are about young love. Don't get me wrong, I've loved them, but it will be refreshing to read a book about people like me! LOL! I'm definitely gonna give this one a try!

Sounds good - I like to read about married couples and their struggles to keep the spark alive. Thanks for the review
