Review: Undeniable by Madeline Sheehan

I cursed in the review. You've been warned.

Undeniable is rude, crude and uncut- and you can't get much better than that.

I've always believed that things happen for a reason, and the prologue for this story just made me love it even more.

Oh man...
This story...
ROCK.MY.WORLD.

Seriously.

Holy Hot Damn did I freaking love this book! Good Lord was I was addicted to it! I loved it and loved it some more! I never wanted it to end. Talk about devouring a book in record time!

This is the book I've been looking for for some time now. A few months ago, I asked a some friends if they have a book they could recommend that's similar to the song Love The Way You Lie Part 2. I wanted intense raw emotion, I wanted it to feel real, and I wanted it to be told like it is- no beating around the bush.

Undeniable is that book. Now I need to get on my hands and knees and thank my friend, Rosalind, for telling me about it. It's EXACTLY what I wanted.

And I'm going to read it again. Like now.

Deuce. Oh Deuce. You are the Jerk of My Dreams. That's right. No one can hold a candle to you, buddy. You are what I look for in my reads- a total asshole alpha male from head to toe who you can't help but love. And that's a good thing.

Deuce met Eva very early in her life. It was completely innocent when they met, trust me. It wasn't anything sexual, but as time progressed and Eva grew into a woman, she was woman who knew what she wanted. It was just by chance, really, as fate would have it, that Deuce and Eva would find their way back to each other and many times over the course of nearly two decades. And fate can be a cruel bitch let me tell you! When they're together it's so damn good and at the same time it was so damn bad; it's fucked up really. They've caused so much destruction in each others lives, it's something they have no control over. They have a connection that can't be broken, no matter what. It takes a strong woman to be able to handle what Eva had to endure in her life, but it wasn't just with Deuce.

Enter Frankie, a troubled boy Eva's father took in to care for. Her father, also known as "Preacher" basically the King of bikers, knew Frankie needed help, but he didn't know the depth of help he needed. It was sad. Eva and Frankie developed an attachment kind of relationship with each other quite early on. For Eva it was purely platonic, but not for Frankie. Frankie loved Eva the moment she kept his nightmares and temper at bay.

Frankie is a loose cannon. He's extremely possessive and has some attitude! He's a fucking lunatic and my heart went out to him. Frankie is the type who doesn't take no for any answer. He handled it from Eva for years until he could no longer take it anymore. He took what he felt he was entitled to, and I was shocked. I was shocked because he loved Eva so much and to hurt her like he did...I just couldn't believe it. Their love is a love that runs deep between them so I understand why Eva went through with it until the end when she found out some startling news. I could not believe the length Frankie went to to always have Eva by his side! It blew my mind!

It wasn't just Deuce and Frankie who were part of Eva's life. There were so many other characters who just made this story THAT GOOD. Kami is the best friend anyone could ask for. That girl is so cool! Then we have Chase, who I came to have a love/hate relationship with. He's smart and cunning and did what he had to do to get to Eva. It was ruthless but Eva became almost addicted to Chase and I could see why. I really enjoyed Chase's character a lot. He knew how to rattle Kami and Eva and the banter between them all was fun to watch. Let's not forget about all the biker boys too. Ahh...they were great company to have! Never a dull moment with them!

This book took me on a wild ride! One minute I'm high and the next I'm coming down hard. There were a few parts that had me feeling sad inside. I understand why things happened the way that they did, but it just hurt. There is a strong pull with all the characters of this book so when one thing happens it hits hard. I loved every single page of the story and was hooked from the moment I read the first line. I couldn't get enough and I hope the author does more with the side characters of this story.

The only issue that I really had with this book was that the children were there to witness so much. They watched and heard the heated arguments, the vile words and all that comes with having bikers around. The reason why it was difficult for me is because the author didn't sugar coat those scenes at all. Not one bit. It's raw and it's real and I know because I grew up around bikers too. My father has been a biker long before I was born and the relationship between Deuce and Eva is eerily similar to my parents. There were loud fights, lit cigarettes being thrown, glass being broken on more than once occasion, and parties. Madeline must've been exposed to this kind of life because I can't imagine someone would know this unless they've lived it. I think my issue is more of a personal one and would rather not read the scenes with the children since it brings back memories, but then again it wouldn't have been as realistic as it was. It's the life you're dealt and you have to learn to live with it and that's what Deuce and Eva did. This book is one I won't ever forget.

As crazy as it sounds, with all the drama and knots in my stomach and my heart racing as fast as the speed of light, I LOVED THIS BOOK! It's AWESOME and I can't wait to read it again. This book is easily one of the top favorite books I've read this year. All of my top books have been vastly different from each other yet all made such an impact on me.

Seriously.It.was.delicious. I feel like I'm in a daze over it.

Favorite lines-

"Babe."

"Reel it in. Babe."
