Our Reviews:

If you haven’t read Take This Regret, stop reading this now and read it first.  Trust me you will need to read it to understand the pain these two have suffered.
Christian and Elizabeth were on their way to their happily ever after when tragedy strikes and they are once again torn apart from each other.  You get current and past scenes and POV’s from both Christian and Elizabeth.  Both are suffering.  One wants to give up and has shut the other completely out of their lives while the other is fighting to be a family again.  Words are said, accusation are made and everything that was so happy, so full of love, explodes into separation, anger, pain and hurt.
I felt so many emotions while reading this book.  Anger, despair, grief, love and hope.  Once again A L Jackson has made me so enthralled with the book that I felt like I was there experiencing the emotions and pain that Elizabeth and Christian were feeling.  I couldn’t put it down.  I wanted to yell at Elizabeth, shake the shit out of her and say wake up damn it!  Look around and see what all you are missing.  Christian I wanted to smack upside the back of the head and say do what you gotta do to make this right so you and Elizabeth can finally have your happily ever after.  Without giving away what caused their pain, I will say this, reading that scene was one of the hardest things I have ever read, I think I cried for an hour straight.  The connection between Christian and Elizabeth even when damaged is so strong that even when the worst happens and you think that nothing will be able to save what they have, a miracle happens.
If Forever Comes is the sequel to Take this Regret and it is just as emotional if not more than Take This Regret.  Christian and Elizabeth are once again ripped apart from each other, your heart hurts and you feel the pain that they are both suffering from.  Make sure you have your tissues close by because you are going to need them for sure.  If Forever Comes is a must read and fans of A L Jackson will not be disappointed at all.

Revisiting this couple in their heartbreaking struggles, was nothing less than the emotional experience that you expect from A. L. Jackson. Jackson has effectively opened a window into the soul of the devastated, madly in love, and conflicted. You are allowed to see the inner workings in such great clarity and detail. All of it perceptive and authentic, you feel every heart pang and quickening. She left me feeling as if I had walked a mile in these character’s shoes.
“Maybe a love that flamed so bright could only burn us into the ground. Maybe it was inevitable, our ruin. Maybe we’d already been set up for destruction, because something so strong made it inherently weak.”
Approach this book knowing that you will immerse yourself in the mindset of temporarily broken characters. Nothing is left out or unscourged. Christian, Elizabeth, and Lizzie will once again steal your heart and develop before you on the pages.
“..looked down at the child who had taught us so many things-that it was okay to hope again, to love without fear, even when it might cost us all, to show it every day.”
It’s A.L. Jackson, and there will be tears for sure. Heartbreaking AND happy tears.
“How Elizabeth and I would be allowed to grow old together. That we’d love until we’d been given no more days, and then, somehow, I’d find her again”
I mean read that quote again and not bawl your eyes out!! Really. It doesn’t get any better than this for a love story.

Her words have a cadence and flow, that allow you to get lost in the story. She will convey the true power of commitment and love, leaving you touched.

A.L. Jackson is the New York Times bestselling author of Take This Regret and Lost to You, as well as other contemporary romance titles, including Pulled and When We Collide.

She first found a love for writing during her days as a young mother and college student. She filled the journals she carried with short stories and poems used as an emotional outlet for the difficulties and joys she found in day-to-day life.

Years later, she shared a short story she’d been working on with her two closest friends and, with their encouragement, this story became her first full length novel. A.L. now spends her days writing in Southern Arizona where she lives with her husband and three children. Her favorite pastime is spending time with the ones she loves.
