Review: Gnome on the Range by Jennifer Zane

What could possibly happen in small town Montana? Well, if you’re Jane West, quite a lot! Jane’s husband died several years ago while in Germany and in bed with another woman……..and her husband. Jane now works for her mother-in-law at her adult toy store, where she meets her hunky new neighbor, Fireman Ty.

It all begins innocently enough when Jane’s sons buy garden gnomes at a yard sale. A couple of nights later someone tries to steal the gnomes. When Jane goes back to scene of the purchase find out what the story is with the gnomes, she and Ty come close to getting blown up. Then there’s the hold up at the convenience store, the derby car incident, the camper incident, and the list goes on. Through it all hunky fireman Ty keeps coming to the rescue.

The sexual tension between Jane and Ty grows each time they are together and when they’re not. Jane’s mother-in-law decides to help things along (remember she owns an adult toy store). This only ratchets up the tension. No matter how many times Jane and Ty try to ease their sexual frustration, something gets in the way. Until, AT LAST, they get together and boy is it hot!

Jennifer Zane does a fantastic job of building a story and characters that pull at you and bring a smile to your face. On top of that, she had me laughing out loud. My husband kept looking at me like I was crazy because I wasn’t just snickering, I was laughing out loud!

The romance in the story is pretty straightforward and light-hearted but everything else that happens to these two is a riot. Who knew life in small town Montana could be so interesting!

Jennifer Zane’s next book, Gnomeless, is once again in small town Montana. I’m hoping it’s as funny as the first one! I think I’ve found another author follow!

This sounds like a really fun book - I have this on my kindle - now I'll have to pull it to the top of the list to read it. Thanks for the review!
