Blog Tour and Review: Bring Me Home by Cassia Leo

The breath-taking conclusion to the New York Times and USA Today bestselling series is expected to be released August 6, 2013.

Claire Nixon is a college student with a past full of secrets and heartbreak. She was saved once by her first love, and rock star, Chris Knight. But when she encouraged Chris to leave town to pursue his dreams, both Claire and Chris didn’t realize it would be the biggest mistake of their lives.

After a devastating year apart and thousands of miles of distance between them, Claire met sexy surfer Adam Parker. With his awful jokes and profound patience, he helped Claire pick up the shattered pieces of her broken heart for the second time.

But now Chris has returned and he is willing and determined to make Claire’s dreams come true—the same way she did for him when she let him go.

With Adam’s former girlfriend in the picture, Claire finds herself torn between the new, passionate love she shares with Adam and the love and family she shares with Chris

My Review:

WOW, WOW, WOW! If you have read the other books in this series you MUST read this book now. An incredible wrap up to this series!! I was so nervous starting this book and hesitant to get my heart ripped out. But Cassia Leo successfully tackled the "love triangle" theme, and made me feel at peace with the outcome. I completely felt that everyone got what they wanted and needed, and saw sincere happiness in all of the characters.

This book begins with Claire trying to straighten herself out and keep her distance from Adam and Chris, but yeah right! As if that is going to happen! The story starts moving right along in a direction that I didn't anticipate necessarily. It was a nice surprise and I enjoyed it at every turn. Expect some surprises that are just blurted out of character's mouths. Say what???

Bring Me Home alternated between Claire, Adam, and Chris's POV as the other books in this series did also. Expect a few additional supporting characters' POV to be thrown in as well! I loved turning the page and thinking, "Sweet! Now we get to hear what she really thinks!"

This is a music lovers book. Every chapter begins with a music note that, "links to a YouTube video of a song that pertains to or is mentioned in that chapter." Many songs and lyrics are mentioned in the book as well, and help convey the emotions of the characters.

The book contains all sorts of drama, as you should expect to be kept on your toes by the story. Emotional and moving dialogue frames the serendipitous events that have led the characters to where they are in life. It makes the case for the choices that are made by the characters in this book, and helps you as a reader accept the outcome of the story. WHICH I LOVED. I kept waiting for my heart to be broken, but it was deeply touched instead. I MIGHT HAVE CRIED, and it wasn't even words that came from the guy I was I was rooting for. It came from the final goodbye between Claire and, well the guy that she doesn't end up with.

I was surprised that there were some characters that were introduced in the last book, Pieces of You, that we didn't hear much from in this one. I however, was really happy where the story went instead, I was just surprised.

One of the main themes of these books is can Claire get over the guilt of what she has done. Can she accept forgiveness? This will be something that Claire works through in this book as well. Other characters are working through guilt and regret for their choices also, so this is a prevalent theme through this story. It's a moving subject for any reader.

"Babe, you're going to hurt me many more times in our lives. Just because I forgive you, doesn't mean the pain goes away instantly. I just need some time...and you. I need you to not leave me again."

The reference to "home", like in the title, is wonderfully woven into the subplots of the story. I love when an author can make story come full circle. It just feels right as a reader.

Cassia Leo beautifully and touchingly finished this series in a way that will bring a sense of closure to every reader who was pulling for "their" guy. No bitter here girls, only sweet.

USA Today bestselling author Cassia Leo loves her coffee, chocolate, and margaritas with salt. When she's not writing, she spends way too much time watching old reruns of Friends and Sex and the City. When she's not watching reruns, she's usually enjoying the California sunshine or reading--sometimes both.
