Blog Tour & Giveaway: Rose by Alison Higson

Rose is a beautiful, sweet contemporary romance filled with passion and intrigue that captured my attention from the start.

Mackenzie (Mack) Harper escapes the city and rents a seaside cottage for the summer.  Accompanying her for a few weeks is her six year old nephew, Lucas.  Lucas quickly befriends the elderly owner of the cottage.  Meanwhile, Mack finds herself engrossed in a mysterious, forbidden romance dating back to the late 1940’s when she discovers an old diary; the diary of a Rose.  But who exactly was Rose? What happened to her?  And who is the handsome stranger that is staying in the cottage next to hers?

I really loved this one!  You get two love stories rolled into one book.  I followed along as Mack learned about Rose and her love interest, Jacob.  I became as caught up in it as Mack was.  I couldn’t wait to see where Rose’s journey took us next.  Ms. Higson did an excellent job of making me feel the emotions and love blossoming between Rose and Jacob; that flutter of excitement, the giddiness.

Then there’s, Dean, the handsome stranger renting the cottage next to Mack.  He becomes just as intrigued with Rose’s story, but more than that he finds himself enthralled by Mack.  Mack is just as taken with him.  When those two come together it’s hot and passionate.  But Dean hasn't been honest about his identity.  Can Mack accept and understand when he comes clean with her?

This story is beautifully written.  The whole cast of characters and storyline just flowed perfectly.  Keep some tissues handy.  Rose’s diary eventually comes to an end, but there is so much more to reveal.  Together, Mack and Dean unravel the mystery and that’s when the tears fell for me.  Add this to your TBRs.

Author Bio
I was born in Bolton, Lancashire within the United Kingdom, where I lived, and worked at the University of Bolton. In 2010, I moved to Ireland with my husband, 4 kids and pack of animals. I can tell you it wasn't pleasant traveling in a car with 5 cats in cat boxes. Climbing back into the car after the ferry journey to Ireland was the most unpleasant thing we had to do on moving day!!

We are now settled in a lovely town, in County Cavan. The kids love their schools (once they get there that is!) and the little one loves her play-school where she goes with her imaginary friend, Katie.

My eldest daughter, is on the Irish Junior Archery Team, and spends her time training. At least she does when her dad can get her off her ipad, reading or listening to music.

After writing under a pen name for a short while, I decided to try my hand at writing in third person past tense, instead of first person. Rose is my first published book under my own name, and will not be the last, as I have a head full of ideas, plus covers for some of those ideas!

I have recently joined the book review blog, Book Addict Mumma and made a wonderful new friend in Kristy Louise Garbutt, my new boss!

My kindle is loaded with too many books to mention, and I absolutely love to read when I have the chance.
