Review: More than Her by Jay McLean

This is a tough one for me. While I LOVED the first book, I didn't quite love this one. I liked it, but wasn't crazy about it.

(me glaring at Jay)

The beginning was all over the place. It jumped around too quickly (the chapters were very short) and way too much in my opinion. Back, forth, back, forth, back, forth. Slow. Your. Roll. I felt discombobulated and think I even got whiplash because of it all!

It was difficult to follow and connect with. To top it off, I couldn't for the life of me remember anything about Logan or his place in the first book. I found myself putting my kindle down over and over because of it. I think a refresher of Logan and his story would've helped tremendously. That goes for the heroine as well. I think she was suppose to be some giant secret, but I didn't think she was? I don't know... I kind of feel heartless not feeling for connecting with her.

Once everything did mellow out later in the book and I was able to get into the grove of things, I ended up liking the book a bit. There were some memorable parts that I enjoyed very much, but sadly I just didn't feel the same love as I did with the first book. And that kind of hurts seeing as how fast I devoured the first book and raved about it so much.

Also, I don't think it was necessary to leave this book unfinished. While I love drama, I think some of it was far-fetched and over the top. With that being said, I'll still be reading the third book, just not sure when.

The one thing I enjoyed the most was Logan's father. He really made the story of me the few times I saw him. Such love he has for Logan. Oh, and Lucy. She's cute.

Valid.
