Review: Dragon Bound by Thea Harrison

I have some mixed feelings about this book. I will admit I had high expectations, which is usually a setup for disappointment, and it was to a point. I wasn’t blown away by the book, but I did enjoy it. I like Pia, and Dragos is pretty dreamy, however they both had their flaws. Pia’s flaws were endearing, but Dragos took some getting used to. I like an alpha male, but he’s downright overbearing. I did, however, adore how he learned to say please!

The urban fantasy setting was pretty cool. I liked the different races and how they’re set up. It definitely has room for sequels that can go in just about any direction. I also liked that while some of the races were about what I expected, others weren’t quite typical. Not everything and everyone is as they seem and it made for some very interesting experiences.
The plot is where I had some issues. There are some questions left unanswered, some loose ends not quite tied up, and there were some events and experiences that I felt were unnecessary to the book and/or unrealistic under the circumstances.

Overall, I really enjoyed a lot of the characters, including many of the secondary ones, and while it didn’t knock my socks off, Dragon Bound was an enjoyable read and I’m looking forward to checking out the next book!

I loved, loved, loved this book and yeah Dragos did take some getting used to but once you get into the world of the Elder Races - his behavior becomes more understandable. I hope you give the other books in the series a try:)
