Review: Easy Love (Book 1 The Boudreaux Series) by Kristen Proby

Kristen Proby has done it again! Easy Love is the start of a brand-spanking-new series that left a lasting impression on this long-time Proby fan. Filled with southern charm, intrigue, and steam, how could I not fall hard for this one?

Eli Boudreaux is devoted to his family and their company, Bayou Enterprises. He’s a no-nonsense kind of guy; work comes first. Relationships are not on his agenda. With his sexy appeal, he has no problems getting an itch scratched when the need arises but afterwards it’s back to business as usual, dating is not an option. When it’s discovered that someone is stealing from his company, an outsider is brought in to investigate posing as an employee.

Kate O’Shaughnessy travels around the globe looking into the misappropriation of funds on the behalf of companies. She’s able to slip in and blend, allowing her to investigate from the inside out. Being a close friend of a couple of Eli’s siblings, she was happy to head to New Orleans to help them out. From the moment she meets Eli, the electricity crackles around them, but Kate has many reasons to stay away from him. One being the affect he could have on her heart, something that she keeps locked up tight and secure…or so she thinks.

Kate experienced a huge betrayal and major hurt in her past, but I love that it hasn't completely jaded her. She is still able to see the beauty in life and enjoy it. She’s fun, uplifting, and so strong. As hard as she tries to keep her heart out of reach however, it’s really no match for a sexy man with a Cajun accent who knows how to charm the pants off of you. Literally.

Good God, this man can kiss. Is this legal in the state of Louisiana?

Eli, insert a long sigh right here and just pause for effect, puts up a good front. Kate works her way under his skin, but due to a misconceived notion he has stuck in his stubborn head he won’t fully act on his feelings. Kate is exactly what he needed. She breathes a new life into him. She invigorates him. His eyes open to the world around him, the day-to-day things he failed to appreciate before. But, when her time with his company is up, he’s just willing to let her go. Gah!

...I crave her. Her body, her thoughts, her smile. All of her

I’m not spilling any spoilers here. You need to read this one for yourself!

Readers missing the With Me in Seattle family will surely fall head over heels for this new series. Yet again, Ms. Proby has captured the essence of what makes a family unit work. I could already see the love and devotion the Boudreaux family has for one another. The playfulness and heartache they all share in. When reading Easy Love, I didn’t feel like a spectator watching events unfold, instead I was drawn in and spent quality time with a new set of friends that quickly worked their way into my heart. They made me smile, laugh, and cry alongside them. This is going to be an amazing journey. I am excited and can’t wait to get to know each of the characters thoroughly.

I fell into such an easy love with you, I didn't even realize it was happening, until one day, it was everything.
