Blog Tour: Obligation By: Aurora Rose Reynolds

 [ob-li-gey-shuh n]
An obligation is a course of action that someone is required to take, whether legal or moral.
At six years old, Myla was sent to a family her father and mother had chosen for her when they knew their time on earth was almost up. What they were unaware of was what they thought would be her safe haven would become her living hell.
Kai has been watching Myla from afar since he took over the family business from his father and inherited the responsibility of keeping her safe. When word gets back to Kai that Myla is not only in danger, but that his assets are being compromised, he immediately jumps into action and does the only thing that can be done at the time by marrying her.
Neither Myla nor Kai would have thought that something that started off as a farce would become the most important thing either of them could've ever done.

Okay does Aurora Rose Reynolds even know how to write a guy that isn’t panty melting alpha hot, because I am seriously thinking that’s all she can write and if that is the case, well I ‘m not ever going to complain.  I absolutely love this series and all of these hot as hell alpha men.  I wish I could be one of these lucky ass women who land one of these guys, I’m not picky as long as he’s hot, can talk my panties off with a couple sexy as hell words, and is an alpha I’m his.  Hmmm maybe my husband would mind that a little too much, okay I will settle for reading about these guys instead.

Kai, holy hell man he may not have gone about things in the best way at times but his heart was in the right place even if he didn’t know that is where everything was coming from at the beginning.  He would do anything to protect Myla.  I didn’t think anyone would be able to top my love for Kenton but I believe that Kai has beaten him from being number one in my heart.

I really loved Myla as well.  She had went through some extremely hard times before being rescued by Kai.    She didn’t take it when Kai would get in her face about something.  She stood up to him when she needed to and I loved that about her.  She wasn’t weak, even when she could have been because of everything that had been going on.

Obligation is the second book of the Underground Kings series and I can’t wait for Distraction to release because I need more of the bad ass alpha men that Aurora Rose Reynolds is so well known for and that we all love.

Excerpt  #1
 “Everyone is looking for you.”
I turn my head, pulling my hair out of my face as I watch a boy I’ve never seen before climb up the stairs and into my tree house.
“Who are you?” I ask him as he sits across from me.
“Kai,” he smiles, looking around. He looks a lot different than the other kids I know. His hair is long, and his skin is a lot darker than mine. “Why are you hiding?”
I shrug and look away from him. Daddy was yelling earlier; he was so mad that he was turning red. Then Mommy started crying, and Daddy started yelling louder. I heard Mommy telling Daddy that he had to send me away. I don’t want to go away. I try to be good, but sometimes, I forget to listen.
“Why are you crying?”
I look up at him and wipe my face. “I’m scared,” I whisper, wiping my nose.
“Come on. I’ll protect you,” he says, holding his hand out to me.
Then my mommy calls my name again. I look at his hand, move Mr. Bear under my arm, and put my hand in his.
“Myla!” Mommy yells, running towards me.
I can tell she has been crying again.
“Where did you go?” Her hands grab my shoulders and she shakes me hard.
“It’s my fault. I asked her to show me the tree house,” Kai tells her.
She stops shaking me then looks at him. “You shouldn’t have done that. You knew we were looking for her,” she says angrily her head.
“I’m sorry. I wasn’t thinking,” Kai says softly, putting his hands in his pockets and looking at the ground.
I look back at Mommy, and she shakes her head before grabbing my hand and pulling me with her. When I look over my shoulder at Kai, he smiles, making me smile back.

ARC Review: Forever Your Concierge By: Jessica Ingro

From the moment she said hello, Travis Hamilton knew without a doubt that Maya Harris was the one. Knowing how hard it is to make a relationship work, he’s ready to fight for them—no matter what trials and tribulations come their way. But what do you do when the woman you're in love with refuses to move your relationship forward? When her secrets become too much to handle? How can you get her to trust you and take a chance on your future?

Maya Harris gave up on love a long time ago. Past experience dictated that what seemed too good to be true, most certainly always was. There’s something about Travis Hamilton though that pushes her to the brink of change—teetering on the edge of giving in to their love and planning on forever. But past mistakes always have a way of rearing their ugly head and putting your future at risk.

True loves and happily ever afters are anything but easy, and never a guarantee. Can love really overcome any obstacle? Can happiness truly come without any strings?

I’m going to start off by stating that in Love, Your Concierge I had serious issues with Maya and when I found out that Forever Your Concierge was going to be her story I will admit I was skeptical.  However, I haven’t been disappointed yet by anything Ms. Ingro has written so I went in hoping that I wouldn’t be disappointed this time either.  Well, the streak has continued because I really liked Forever Your Concierge and even started to like Maya but it wasn’t something that happened within a chapter or two, it took me the entire book to finally like her.  Gradually that dislike I have had since the previous book, was slowly chipped away and at times I felt horrible for what was going on in her and Travis’ life but a lot of it was because of her.

This isn’t a book that is about a married couple who have found their happily ever after.  No.  It is a book about a married couple, who deeply love each other, have gone through some of the hardest things that a couple could possibly deal with while at the same time trying to not break apart and lose the love they have for each other.  Pain, the past and secrets can destroyers of marriages, some are able to work through those things when others crumble from the strain.

Now is this book all depressing and pain?  No it is also sexy as hell with the sex scenes between Maya and Travis, it at times is funny and also sweet.  What it ends up being is a really good book that will pull at your heart, at times make you angry, and possibly could make you cry.  Jessica Ingro is an author that I have come to expect a book that will make me feel emotions, whether they be anger, sadness, happiness or love, I know that she will not disappoint and ladies and gentleman she nailed it once more!

Excerpt:
When the car pulled up to my building, Travis helped me out and followed me in and up to my third floor apartment. At the door, I extricated my keys from my purse and turned to face him. His eyes blazed as he looked down on me, making my palms sweat and my heart race in anticipation of our first official kiss.

When his head dipped, my breath caught. When his mouth touched mine, I instantly opened for him. When his tongue swept inside, I completely lost myself to the feel of it brushing mine as he explored me in the most sensual kiss I had ever had.

His hands came up to frame my face. His head tilted and he deepened the kiss. My toes curled as heat swept through my body with a blinding fierceness.

He broke the kiss far too soon and rested his forehead on mine. "Who knew a kiss could feel like this?"

"I know," I whispered. My eyes finally opening to take in his gorgeous face so close to mine.

"Let me stay tonight, Maya."

The idea was oh so intriguing, but I couldn't bring myself to do it. We barely knew each other, and I didn't want to move too fast.

"Let's take it slow, Travis," I whispered, afraid he would get mad and that would be the end of what promised to be something completely amazing.

"No longer the happiest man in the city, Maya," he informed me and my stomach dipped at the rough and raspy sound of his voice. "Happiest man in the world."

"Trav—"

"Goodnight, sweetheart. I'll call you tomorrow." He kissed my forehead and took a step back.

"Goodnight, Travis."

I opened my door and turned back to look at him in front of the stairwell. He had the most endearing expression on his face, and I was pretty sure I fell in love with him right then.

Review: The Unwanted Wife by Natasha Anders

Theresa de Luca loved her husband Alessandro when they got married, she thought that he loved her as well. She knows that he wants a son, he tells her repeatedly but when she can’t get pregnant she knows that him loving her will never happen.   What she didn’t know was that he only married her for one reason and he believes she married him for a different reason as well.  She has had enough of the cold hearted husband she married and is ready to leave.  When she tells Alessandro she wants a divorce he does not take the news very well.  He finds that maybe he doesn’t want to let her go after all, too bad that Theresa has her mind set but can it be changed?

Alessandro has not put any effort into his marriage at all expect to attempt to get Theresa pregnant.  He needs a son.  He treats Theresa horribly, he refuses to divorce her or let her go.  When Theresa finally does become pregnant, he should be praying for the son he has wanted but things have changed.  He doesn’t want to let Theresa go but fears that too much time has past and his actions towards her have sealed his fate and he will lose her once the baby is born. Can he win her heart and heal the damage he has done or will Theresa walk away?  Well I am not going to give you the answer you have to read it duh.

This book will make you cry, break your heart and put it back together all at the same time.  You feel Theresa’s pain from the start and wonder how she has stayed for as long as she has with some of the shit that Alessandro has pulled in the short time they have been married.  You also start to open up to Alessandro as well and while you find out the reason why he was like that to her it pisses you off but at the same time you feel for him as well.  You begin to want Alessandro to win Theresa back.

The Unwanted Wife is one emotional roller coaster, especially if you have ever had problems in your marriage or relationship and have felt unwanted by the one you love.  We all have our go to authors when we are feeling down and I have one I go to when I need to laugh and just be picked up, but when I am having problems in my marriage I pick up the Unwanted Wife and read it.  I will admit I think I have read this book at least 6 times, for some reason I can connect with Theresa when me and my husband are arguing.   The Unwanted Wife is a book of heart break, pain, second chances and forgiveness. I have cried each time I have read this and I will cry again the next time I read it as well.  This is one that will always be on my reread list and I highly recommend you putting is on your to be read lists as well.

Review: Friends with Benefites by Anne Lange

Friends with Benefits is the first in a new series by Anne Lange. I was hooked from the very beginning!

Tyler and Angela are a happily married couple that have been talking about fantasies. Tyler wants Angela to have her fantasies come true, so he sets up Angela to have sex with a “stranger” while he’s out of town. Little does Angela know that Connor, her sexy stranger, is actually a friend of Tyler’s.

Tyler is ecstatic that Angela and Connor have hit it off and he’s hoping things will progress to more. See, Tyler has a secret. He’s hoping that secret won’t pull him and Angela apart. He’s hoping it will bring them together!

Tyler, Angela and Connor get introduced to the Vault, a sex club, by some friends. What they find at the Vault really opens things up for them and makes them more comfortable. The question is, can Angela, Tyler and Connor make their unusual arrangement work?

I really enjoyed this book. I was hooked from the very beginning. Anne Lange did some things very well in this book and it really paid off. We dealt with how outsiders view their relationship, we dealt with insecurities and jealousies within the relationship and we found love.

I also like that we are introduced to the Vault, not by a couple that is already a member. Nor do we learn about it from the very hot, very sexy owner! We get to see the club from a newbie’s eyes. We get to experience their wonder and excitement at visiting the club for the first time. We see it all brand-new and not old hat.

I’m really looking forward to more from Anne Lange and the Vault series. It has a lot of promise and I can’t wait read more!

Review: Holidays with the Walker Brothers by Nicole Edwards

Mmmmmm…..Those Walker boys sure are HAWT! And you gotta love the women that love them.

In Holidays with the Walker Brothers we get to see all the couples again. It’s like visiting old friends and catching up. With each one we get to experience that rush of attraction and feeling of love they all have for each other.

In addition, several stories were advanced. We got more insight into the budding relationships and the stories to come. All it did was whet my appetite for more! In fact, it makes me want Ethan’s story even more.

And of course, we get to hang out with the couple that started it all, Lorrie and Curtis. I can only hope when I’m their age, my hubby and I are still in love like they are!

The story wouldn’t be complete with razzing, jokes and poking fun at each other. Each of the Walker boys brings something special to Christmas and it’s a joy to spend the holiday with them.

Now, even though Zane, Kaleb, and Travis are all in committed relationships, their relationships with their significant others are still HAWT! In fact, they can barely sit through Thanksgiving dinner without scorching glances, innuendo, and disappearing at the first chance they can. The scenes with them are OMG! HOT!!

This is a wonderful interlude between the Walker brothers’ stories. While I’m thrilled I got to spend the holidays with the Walkers, it only made me want more!

Review: Temptation (Temptation #1) by K.M. Golland

I HATE cheating! In books, in real life, doesn’t matter! I HATE cheating!

That being said, I LOVED Temptation! How is this possible? Temptation has cheating in it. So, how in the world can I like the book? Let me explain………

Temptation is the story of 35 year old, married, stay at home mom, who goes back to work. On her first day, she meets Bryce Clark, boss, and billionaire extraordinaire.  She feels an instant attraction to him, as he does to her.

Bryce pursues her with a creepy stalker like passion. Alexis resists Bryce. She has every intention of staying faithful to her husband, Rick. But things don’t always work out the way we plan, do they?

The cheating in this book didn’t bother me so much. Alexis didn’t set out to cheat on her husband. She wanted to stay faithful to her husband. But sometimes temptation is just too much and people give in. Now, there’s part I can’t tell you, because it reveals too much, but Rick is not completely blameless in this. You’ll have to read to understand.

Bryce is the creepy-stalker like billionaire not used to people telling him no. He pursues Alexis and respects her boundaries, to some extent. He does keep putting temptation in her way.

Bryce and Alexis are both at fault for this. Alexis stayed in the path of temptation and Bryce kept throwing it in front of her.

This was a very well written story and I have to admit, I loved it, cheating and all. To quote Johnny Depp “If you love two people at the same time, choose the second. Because if you really loved the first one, you wouldn’t have fallen for the second.”

BTW – that quote is in this book as well!

Now I need to read the next two and find out how it all ends. I have a feeling it’s going to get worse, before it gets better!

Find it on GoodReads!
