was, a battle. So I knew going into Garrett that this was going to be one
that brings up some pain from my past.
There is no way to romanticize cancer, and that isn’t what happens here
at all. Garrett at least for me is a book of hope, strength and the
building of a love that will be tested by hardships.
We knew from the previous book that Garrett is a manwhore,
different women, no relationship or commitments, love em and them em type of
guy. But as we all have seen before, all
it takes is one women to knock them off their ass and their entire world is
turned upside down. Garrett had no idea
that Olivia was sick, but when he finds out, he seriously made me love him
because he wasn’t with her because she was sick, no he was with her because she
was it for him. Olivia, I liked but didn’t
love and let me explain why. She in a
way was selfish, she wanted Garrett in her life but didn’t take the time to
stop and think that while this may be hard on him he never once showed a second
of regret. She tried to make a decision
for him and I wanted to scream because she just couldn’t see past her own
fears.
This isn’t a happy romance even though there is happiness in
the book. It is one that is moving, one
that will open your eyes and make you want to hold your love ones a little
tighter to your heart because you never know what is going to happen, whether
you live until you are 100 years old, or maybe something tragic happens you just need to keep them close. I want to read Zach’s story which comes out
next right now because I have a feeling that it will be another heart wrenching
story. Fans of Sawyer Bennett need to
read the Cold Fury Hockey series and have your tissues ready once you finish Alex because Garrett is going to pull at all your emotions.
