This isn't going to be a long review, so I'll cut to the chase:
Selena Kitt is a God
when it comes to
writing smut.
I don't even have to read the synopsis of any of her books... If Selena Kitt's the author then you can bet your sweet ass that I'm going to read it.
Now while these collection of stories were good and had the whole steam-factor thing going on, they were all just way too incredibly short... And in this case:
Short = Major lack of character and plot development.
It seemed like just about every male character in all of these stories were literally the same person, aside from a name/look change. ...And all the wives in the "daddy-daughter" stories always seemed to be absent from the picture for one reason or another. Now while I understood that this was all just a convenient way to achieve that happily-ever-after at the end of each story, it eventually became overly repetitive. Now with that being said, let's face it: You're not reading a Selena Kitt novel for the perfect romantic fairy-tale... You're reading it because that shit's hot and you're in desperate need to get your steam on.
...But just a little word of warning: If you're the kind of person who wants to get straight to the sex without any real kind plot, then this is definitely the book for you- Otherwise, run far far far away. All-in-all though, while there were quite a few stories that were major turn-ons and well written in this book, others... Well... Weren't. Either way, I love any and all things taboo and this gave me just the satisfaction I was looking for. ♥

Review: Back to the Garden by Selena Kitt
Selena Kitt is obviously a God when it comes to writing smut... Especially smut revolving around incest. She just has such a unique way of turning a taboo situation that may be disturbing for some in the real world, and making the stories work in a way that not only turns you on but has you longing for more.
This book is a collection of four short stories all revolving around incest- I'm all for this type of thing when I'm in the mood for a steamy read and was pleasantly surprised with the mother/son stories featured in this book- That was definitely new for me, since I was used to reading either brother/sister or father/daughter related incestuous stories. Each short story featured in this book was not only entertaining but also well written and had the perfect balance of plot, characters and of course steamy sex. ...Although this wasn't my favorite Selena Kitt book, it was definitely a prime example of why she's still one of today's top-selling authors of erotica fiction.
★ PS: If stories revolving around incest isn't your thing, then for the love of God stay as far away from this novel as possible.

Review: Naughty Bits by Selena Kitt
Be right back...
Let me just go ahead and start this review with a little word of warning: If incest isn't your thing and/or it disgusts you to read about it, then stay as FAR away from this book as humanly possible. With that being said... Damn, but this book was
I typically don't do the whole older heroine/younger hero thing, but it worked for me in this book. David is the virginal younger brother who tends to get his kicks from looking at dirty magazines... One called Naughty Bits, in particular. He fantasizes about a girl that's displayed on several of the pages and time and time again he finds himself drawn to her. Deep down in the back of his subconscious, he knew that the girl he's been fantasizing about looked extremely similar to his older sister, Dawn. Little did he know, that his fantasy was about to become a reality...
David's older sister Dawn was portrayed as a bit... Well... Slutty, if I must say so myself. She's the instigator in David's transformation from virgin to full-blown master of orgasms... Her orgasms, in particular. At first, David was a bit stand-offish about having sex with Dawn... After-all, it is his sister. He tries his best to keep himself satisfied with doing everything with her, short of sex; As if crossing that line will truly make what they're doing so very wrong. Eventually though, he gives into temptation and they immediately began their taboo love affair.
The thing I loved most about this book is the fact that the author really did manage to put in a decent enough amount of emotional build up, depth and character development to leave me feeling satisfied. Now don't get me wrong- This book was pretty much nothing but sex scene after sex scene. However, Selena Kitt really did manage to weave an actual story-line in between it all and that in itself is pretty damn impressive.
Now granted, as much as I absolutely loved this book there were a few things I could have done without. I don't know what it was about Dawn getting turned on with needing to call David her "little brother" during sex, but it was a little much for me at times. I can only assume that it just heightened everything for her knowing how morally wrong what she was doing really was. Knowing this book was about an incestuous relationship didn't bother me in the least... Yet, I still never got used to the whole "little brother" dirty talk that always seemed to make its way out of her mouth. I also couldn't ever get used to some of the British words that were thrown in throughout the book. (For example:"Crikey", "Knob off", "Wanking", "Wanker", etc.) ...In all honesty though, none of this effected how I felt about the book as a whole- I just wasn't quite used to reading a book that used British slang.
All-in-all, this story was fantastic- The ending was a bit abrupt, yet I still felt like it was all wrapped up together nicely. I would definitely recommend Naughty Bits to anyone who's in the mood for a forbidden erotica-Selena Kitt is one hell of a talented author and this book shows her work at its finest.

I don’t even know where to begin when writing this review. First off, I guess I should just go ahead and start by throwing it out there and admitting that I love books revolving around incest. …And no, I’m not harboring a secret crush nor am I having an affair with either my brother or my dad… Although, if Mr. Nolan was related to me like that I can’t promise that I wouldn’t be sexually involved with him. ...On a more serious note though, the reason I'm saying this is because if you consider the taboo subject of incest along the lines of "gross" then you should probably just stay as far away from this book as you can.
With that being said, anyone who knows me knows that I avoid books revolved around sex, sex, and more sex. Those type of novels usually bore me to death; I’ve just never been a fan of books where the story-line fades in the background and becomes a filler to sex… BUT …I’m proud to say that this book worked for me in so many ways. After having an epiphany moment one night and realizing that the smutty side of me was needing something dirty to read, I just figured what better book to start with than one by an author who can be considered a God of all smuttiness.
I’ll be honest here- Since I don’t read too many erotica novels, this one was hard for me to rate. Sex is definitely the main focus in this book- And while it definitely worked and I would have given this book a perfect rating based on the steam factor alone, not having much character development or going into much depth when it comes to the story-line is the only reason this book didn’t get a solid five-stars from me or make it to my “favorites” shelf. With that being said though, that shock of an ending…
…There are no words. The major bombshell that was dropped came as a complete and utter shock to me. It was completely unexpected and I won’t lie… I absolutely loved it. A lot of books these days are just so predictable, so the fact that Selena Kit completely took me off guard with that twist seriously takes true talent.
I need to go ahead and warn all of you guys that this book has a lot… And I mean A LOT of steamy scenes. As a matter of fact, this novel is pretty much full of nothing but sex with every turn of the page- For me though, it was just what I was looking for at the time which is why I think this book ended up being such a huge hit for me. There was quite a bit of girl-on-girl action, among other things but it was all totally and completely hot in a very disturbing something must be wrong with me kind of way.
While this novel had some of the best and most descriptive sex scenes I’ve ever had the pleasure of reading about, (no pun intended) I think it’s only fair for me to go into detail about the only thing I found lacking: Depth and character development. The relationship between the hero and heroine definitely seems like it was based entirely on sexual chemistry only. They both seemed to jump from that, to true love without any explanation... So while the steam factor was absolutely flawless… The story-line and depth definitely took a back-seat role.
This was my first book by Selena Kitt and it most definitely won’t be my last- She is by far worth all of the praise she’s received if this book is anything to go by. With that being said… I need a sequel! The abrupt ending after being exposed to that huge bombshell had me feeling incredibly sad to turn to the last page. I’ll end this review on one final note: Be cautious before going into this book. If you’re looking for a novel that strictly gets you hot and heated, then by all means this is most definitely the book for you! …But if you’re looking for a story with a detailed plot and characters, then this book will more than likely just be a disappointment. …If you’re feeling the need to take a ride on the wild naughty side then I’d highly advise you to dive head-first into this book!
