Release Boost & Review: Sweet Obsession By J. Daniels

***Author’s note*** Sweet Obsession can be read as a standalone novel.

Everyone knows Brooke Wicks loves to have a good time. She’s not interested in getting serious, settling down, or limiting herself to one man. So when she meets the sexy, irresistible Mason King, she sees another opportunity to let loose and go wild. But the gorgeous Aussie isn’t interested in just a quick fling with Brooke, and if she wants to get into his bed, she’s going to have to do it on his terms.

Loving fast and hard has always been Mason’s philosophy. He doesn’t want a meaningless connection, he wants it all, and he wants it with Brooke. When she makes her one desire known—to hit it and quit it—Mason wages a plan to ensure Brooke keeps coming back for more. Or so he hopes.

Getting her attention was the easy part. Keeping it might be damn near impossible.

Sweet Obsession is where the Sweet Addiction series meets the Alabama Summer series.
I am ashamed to admit that I had had the first two books on my kindle for a while and only finally got around to reading them when I was preparing to read Sweet Obsession.  I loved the first two books but was apprehensive about a book about Brooke, I just wasn’t sure that I would want to read about her because let’s face it she was kind of a whore.  I also have read the Alabama Summer series and it took me a minute to remember who Mason was, but I quickly did.

Mason and Brooke had so much chemistry that I was wondering if I needed to take cover for when they finally came together.  Mason wants more than just sex from Brooke and I loved how he wasn’t your typical male, he wanted a deeper foundation and he knew if they didn’t have that Brooke would run.  Brooke surprised me in a good way, and while it took me a little while to really warm up to her once you see that she is more than the sarcastic, sex loving, a little bit flaky woman we saw in the first two books.  She was confident but at the same time she didn’t think she was good enough.  We got to see the really Brooke.

I loved that Joey and Billy played a big role in the book as well.  I love them together, and every time I see “God Damnit, Billy” I laugh so hard because for me that is one of those phrases I will always associate with this series.  I really do hope we get to see more of their relationship in future books.

Don’t be like me and wait to read any of the books in this series.  They are funny, sexy and ones that you must put on your TBR lists.  J. Daniels has quickly become an author that I know I will one-click without any second thoughts.

Release Blitz: Where We Belong By: J. Daniels

From NY Times and USA Today bestselling author, J. Daniels, an Alabama Summer series novella.

Ben and Mia Kelly can’t seem to catch a break.

Grueling night shift and opposing schedules have left the passionate couple geared up and ready for some much needed alone time. There’s only one thing standing in their way.

Parenthood.

With two curious boys who have mastered the art of cock-blocking roaming the house, Ben and Mia, sexually frustrated beyond reason, quickly resort to surprise sexcapades and naughty little trysts whenever and however they can get them.

Who said anything about keeping things legal?

Assume the position. Things are about to heat up in the south.

Warning: This book is recommended for readers over the age of 18 due to strong language and explicit sexual content.

I fell in love with this series when I first read Where I Belong, because Ben and his “Angel” Mia just drew me into not just their sexual chemistry but the way that they were with each other.  So when I got the email from the tour company about a surprise release from J. Daniels and the opportunity to review it I was excited.  When I found out it was a novella about Ben and Mia I was even more so.

Anyone with kids can relate to Where We Belong.  I have two small children, ages four and almost two and I swear it is like they have this radar that pings when me and my husband try to spend any alone time with each other.  Yes my children can be little cockblockers at times, just like everyone’s kids can be.  So I laughed a lot while reading Ben and Mia’s struggle with having some alone time after months of being cockblocked by their boys.  I was like “oh I know the frustration that can cause”. I loved how even being married for a couple of years and two kids hasn’t dulled the heat in their relationship and both still want each other just as much if not more than when they first got together.

Now it wasn’t all happiness.  There are some serious elements as well, some that I am sure all step parents feel at times.  Now I am not gonna tell you what that means, you will just have to read it for yourself, but know I wanted to throw down with a certain bitch when I read what I read.

If you are a fan of this series then I think you will love Where We Belong.  It was the perfect little glimpse into Ben and Mia’s marriage and their attempt to never let that intense passion between them die.

Release Day Blitz: When I Fall By J. Daniels

From NY Times and USA Today Bestselling author, J. Daniels

Book three in the Alabama Summer series.

For the past nine years, I’ve kept my heart as far away from my dick as possible.

Those two can’t be anywhere near each other. They don’t play nice, and one of them undoubtedly winds up getting hurt.

Not my dick. My dick is good.

The women I take home know exactly what they’re getting from me—sex. Nothing more. At least, that’s what’s supposed to happen. The sweet brunette from Kentucky I set my sights on tonight shouldn’t have been any different. I had her right where I wanted her. Where I needed her. But when my past comes walking into McGill’s pub, the woman in my arms decides to take things to a whole new level, putting me into a situation I never saw coming.

My heart is about to get fucked. My dick can sit this one out.

*** Warning: This book is recommended for readers over the age of 18 due to strong language and explicit sexual content. When I Fall can be read as a standalone novel.

When I Fall is the third book in the Alabama Summer series and I loved it as much as the first two.  It is a standalone but I suggest you read the first two books in the series just to have some background on the other characters from previous books.

I have wanted Reed’s book ever since we are first introduced to him in the first book.  We know he is this huge man whore, only spending one night with someone and then showing them the door.  We know he had a woman hurt him in the past and that made him who he is today.  So I know what you are all thinking, oh this guy is your typical jackass who only uses women, blah blah blah.  Well he kind of is that but he is also a great guy who cares about his friends, will drop anything to help them and who takes the time to show Nolan (read the first book to find out who he is) attention when the little guy is around.  He doesn’t know what hits him when he meets Beth, normally his dick is what runs the show but this time it’s his own heart that kicks his ass and runs the show.

Beth has had a hard past but she finally found family who she can turn to.  Meeting Reed and what happens when they meet isn’t something she planned on happening obviously but she wasn’t going to let anyone act like that without getting a dose of their own medicine.  There is this undeniable sexual tension between Beth and Reed from the absolute start but there is more as well.  Beth is just what Reed needs even if he doesn’t know it until it is almost to late.

My only let down is that I wish Reed had put his ex in her place when he had the chance but besides that little complaint I loved it.  This is a sexy series but it is not only just sexy, but sweet and a series that shows that love can heal old wounds when the two are meant to be together even through the hard times.  I don’t know if J. Daniels plans to write more to the Alabama Summer series but if she does, sign me up because I would read it in a heartbeat.

Review: Where I Belong By: J. Daniels

4 Stars!

When Mia returns to Alabama after leaving nine years prior, she planned to spend the summer with her best friend Tessa.  Mia’s mother has been sick with breast cancer and makes her take a vacation and have a little fun.  Mia doesn’t want to leave her mom but knows that she is in good hands.  What she doesn’t want to do is deal with Tessa’s asshole older brother, the older brother who was cruel to her growing up and made her cry because of his cruel words.  Too bad fate can be a cruel bitch, especially when you find out that the sexy as sin, hot guy you gave your virginity to, is in fact that same brother of your best friend, you know the one you hate?

Ben doesn’t realize that the woman who he shared his bed with the night before, that same woman who has him enthralled after their night together, the one he needs more time with, is in fact his little sister’s best friend.  The same Mia that he used to make fun of when he was younger.  The same one, who, when she finds out the truth behind her hot sexy guy from the night before, wants nothing to do with him.  Ben isn’t that same asshole he was when he was younger, he has changed and when he sees how much he hurt Mia in the past, it really does cut him to the core.  He knows that what they had may have only been one night, but deep inside he knows Mia is the only woman for him.

Where I Belong is the first book in the Alabama Summer series, and it is a sweet, sexy and fun start to a new series.  It was almost like I could feel the sexual tension between Ben and Mia in my hands as I held onto my kindle.  I loved that Mia make Ben earn her trust, that Ben was willing to prove to her that he wasn’t that same immature asshole that she remembers, but someone who deserves her love.  Mia was trying to have some fun while at the same time wondering if she made the right choice to leave her mom behind with her aunt, even though her mom was the one to force it.

I have had this book on my kindle for a while now, and I almost forgot about it until I remembered that it was the book that I needed to read prior to another book for a review next week. (And if you can’t figure it out that book is book two in this series and as soon as I am done typing this review  because I am already hooked on this series.)  I can’t believe I waited as long as I did to read this.  I highly recommend it to anyone who is looking for a sweet but very sexy read about a second chance to show that people do change and that sometimes that the girl (or boy) that you are picking on (or who picks on you) when you are younger, will be the perfect match for your heart when you get older.
