Release Blitz: Tank By Carmen Jenner

Enter an unsettling world of volatile relationships, hot bikers, and even hotter sex that will have you on the edge of your seat and force you to keep a white-knuckled grip on your e-reader.

Killer. Criminal. Sociopath.

All of these words have been used to describe me, and for the longest time I believed that that’s all I was.

I’m the man you call in to clean up your mess, assuming your mess is a guy who needs a bullet to the head. I’m the man the MC calls when they want their dirty work done.

I’m the man who doesn’t feel.

Until now.

Until her.

Now my mess is a woman who won’t save herself. I’ll fight like hell to save her, but at what price to the club? And at what cost to me?

Warning: TANK contains graphic violence, profanity, drug use, and explicit sexual situations that may be a trigger and cause some readers emotional discomfort. Intended for an 18+ audience only. Not intended for pussies.
So I honestly didn’t think anything Carmen Jenner wrote would top the darkness and feelings that Kick had brought me when I first read it, but holy shit Tank made Kick look like a light read. Please make sure you read the warning before starting the book because it is there for a reason, one that you will want to know to help prepare yourself.

Now this review is going to be very short and by now you know when I do that it is so I don’t give any detail away.  This time it is for that reason as well as I am having a hard time even finding the right words to describe Tank beyond dark, emotional, kindle throwing, holy shit what did I just read, couldn’t put it down, darker than dark, and just wow.  Tank is all of those and so much more.  If you loved Kick like I did than you will love Tank even more.  If you are a fan of dark romances then make sure you buy this one and prepare for the aftermath on your emotions this book will bring.

Kick Trailer

Excerpt

“So, the usual?” Louis asks.

“Yeah.” Tank intervenes by knocking Louis’ arm away when he tries to hand me a menu.

I glare at the obnoxious arse. “I don’t get to decide what I want?”

“Nope.” He smirks, and it’s quite possibly the millionth one I’ve seen today. “I know exactly what you want. You just need to trust me.”

“Okay then,” Louis says. “Coffee?”

“Yes,” I practically shout. “The strongest you have.”

Tank shakes his head. “Get her a latté.”

I swear if looks could kill, Tank would be burnt to a char right about now. No one takes my coffee from me and lives to tell about it.

“Your system doesn’t need any more stimulation.”

“It’s caffeine, Tank, not cocaine,” I argue. “I’m pretty sure I’ll be okay.”

He shrugs, and Louis glances nervously between us again. He looks as though he wants to flee. Tank has that effect on a lot of people. Then again, it could be the fact that I just admitted to being a junkie and at any second he’s expecting me to break out my stash and start snorting lines off of his fancy table. Louis says, “Okay, so latté it is then.”

“No, I want—”

“I’m sorry, sweetheart, but your man is too scary to say no to.” He backs away from the table, shouting, “But don’t you worry, it’ll be the best latté you’ve ever tasted. You just sit tight.”

“He’s not my fucking man,” I shout back, drawing the attention of every patron in the room, which is really only two other people, not including Louis and Kerri. I look around sheepishly and then wrap my arms around myself, turning my attention back to Tank. “Stop fucking smirking, you arsehole, or I’m walking.”

“Try it and see how far you get, Warrior Princess.”

“I’m betting I’d at least get halfway down the street before you caught up to me.”

“You wanna test that theory?” He challenges with a grin, though his gaze warms me head to toe with its intensity. “My money says you’ll make it to the door before I drag you back to the table, put you over my fuckin’ knee and spank your arse ’til it’s red raw.”

I let out a deep, shaking breath and lick my lips. Jesus Christ do I want that. I want it so fucking bad. My nipples turn rock hard and Tank’s gaze drops to my black singlet. I’m suddenly hot, wet, and hyper aware of his lingering gaze. This man is going to be the death of me.

Blog Tour: Fall Out Girl By L. Duarte

Imagine a social outcast: Me. (Luna)
Imagine a popular boy: Him. (Caleb)
Sound like the characters of a cliché story, right? Here, hold my hand. Come away with me. I’ll tell you my story, and you’ll decide.
But I have a warning: Proceed at your own risk.  Since it’s a snippet of my life, I’m one of the main characters. And to put it lightly, I’m not the most likable person in the world, cue the earned label.  Also, unlike fairy tales, my story is real with a dash of sorrow and loss.
How do I start? Once upon a time…? Shoot me now, please.
The beginning? No, too boring.
Well, let’s start with the catalytic moment that set in motion a chain of events that changed my life, yet again.
As for a happily ever after? Sorry, no spoilers here. You’re going to have to figure that one out on your own. After you read my tale, it becomes yours, and as such, you’re entitled to your interpretation.
So, off we go!
Fasten your seat belts. This ride may get bumpy.
AUTHOR’S NOTE: Due to strong language and graphic sexual content, this book is not intended for readers under the age of 18.
I’m not exactly sure what to say about Fall Out Girl to be honest.  I started out really liking it even with the young adult type of feel I was getting at times, but then it just went down fast.  Luna’s character just kind of called to me.  I could tell that under her hard ass bitch attitude that there was more to her, slowly and slowly that hard exterior breaks and it is because of Caleb.  Luna is a drug dealer but before you judge her, I have always believed that you have to do what you have to do to survive.  For her and her cousin, she did what she had to do to survive and while what she did was illegal it came from a good place in her heart.  I loved Caleb from the start but then, I really wanted to just punch him in the balls because he not only crushed Luna’s heart, he stomped on the fragileness of the true Luna.

So I am sure you are wondering why I didn’t love it if I felt those emotions I just told you about.  Here is why.  I understand plot twists and the need to keep your readers on the edge of your seat but if you don’t do it correctly then you will lose your reader’s attention and sadly that is what happened with me.  I should have expected what happened but I had really hoped there would be more to it.  Hell I can even understand why it happened but it for some reason just pissed me off something fierce.  I am not saying that I didn’t like this book, I did I just didn’t love it and felt a little let down.  But I want you to form your own opinion, maybe it is a case of its not the book it’s me, which happens more than one would think.  I will say this, I hope that there will be another book to maybe expand on what we have already read as well as go into the future if that makes sense.  So give Fall Out Girl a chance, I am glad I did even with what didn’t work for me.

Meet the Author

I have found that there is only one thing better than reading, and that is writing. I’m always torn between the two. I’m also frequently torn between chocolate and coffee. However, I emphatically don’t like the month of February, lies, and flies. For me, bravery is defined by the courage to do what we fear the most. I live in Connecticut with my husband and two children. Drop a few lines. I would love to hear from you.

Blog Tour: Kick By Carmen Jenner

When I was ten, my father indoctrinated me into the family.
A brotherhood who would fight, protect, and give their lives for one another. A club whose ties ran thicker than blood, murkier than the dirt and grime that tainted my soul. Stronger than the bonds that connected me to my own family.
A band of brothers, where loyalty was kept and paid in a currency of blood.
When I was twenty-seven, I betrayed that brotherhood.
I’ve spent every day since running, avoiding paying back that debt.
My name is Daniel Johnson.  I have betrayed everyone I ever loved.
And I’ll betray her too.
This is my story—if you’re screwed up enough to want to read it.

Warning: KICK contains graphic violence, profanity, drug use, and explicit sexual situations of a taboo nature. Intended for an 18+ audience only. Not intended for pussies.

I am going to expand on the warning the author gives above.  This is book has some really dark scenes and if you have rape triggers or abuse triggers you may want to proceed with caution.  I love a good dark read but there were some scenes in here that had me putting my kindle down for a few minutes and walking away before I could go further.  With all that being said, I must be sick and twisted in my head but I just kept going back for more.

I don’t want to go to deep into the book because I don’t want to give anything away, but the things that Kick has done, things that he witnessed, things that not just affected him, but someone close to him as well.  He has a way with crazy.  That sentence won’t make sense until you read the book, but trust me he is like the crazy whisperer.  His story isn’t pretty, it’s not even a diamond in the rough, it is raw, gritty, dark and disturbing.  Now I am not saying all those things only pertain to Kick.  Nope, but again you will have to read the book to see who and/or what I am talking about.

Please though, if dark reads aren’t for you, then don’t read the book.  If rape situations or drug use are triggers or hard limits, then please don’t read the book because while this is dark and disturbing at times it is a damn good book, one that still has me thinking about it days later.

Excerpt #1
“You gotta let go now, Princess. I gotta hand you over.”
Her panicked gaze meets mine. “He’ll shoot you.”
“No, he won’t.”
“Yes, he will.”
I smile down at her. “What are we just gonna stand here forever, you in my arms, your dad holding a gun to my head? If he shoots me, he shoots me. Ain’t nothing I can do about that, Princess. At least I’ll know I did one thing right.”
She takes a deep, shaky breath. “I’d be dead if it weren’t for you.”
I nod, because it’s true. If Slayer hadn’t come at a deal, Prez would’ve eventually killed her, and he’d have tortured her some more first. “Promise me somethin’?”
“What?”
“Get on your feet and then get the hell outta here. Prez will come looking for you again. He’s not a guy who likes to lose. Take as much money as you can, and get the fuck away from this life, otherwise you’re gonna wind up filling a body bag way too young.”
Lauren is wrenched away from me then. She screams as the Italian carts her off toward the clubhouse, flailing and slapping at him despite her injuries.
“Daniel!” she screams, reaching out toward me as he struggles to get her inside. Without thinking I take a step forward, but I’m attacked from behind. My knees go out from under me and I’m shoved face-first into the ground. Some heavy motherfucker sits down on my back. I buck, trying to unseat him, but I’m whacked in the back of the head until I stop.
“Well, isn’t that fuckin’ touching? The Angel scum, in love with my daughter? Didn’t I warn you away from her once before?” Slayer asks, circling me like a predator circles prey. The biker using me for a chair shoves his gun against the back of my skull.
“Yeah, I did,” Slayer continues, and he motions for the guy on top of me to force me to stand. I’m dragged up by the hair and presented to Slayer. “At the rally, where she fuckin’ went missin’!” His red, blotchy face almost touches mine. He’s so close I can see the blood vessels snaking out from the corners of his eyes. He’s fucking high. His daughter’s been locked up, raped, beaten, treated like a fuckin’ animal over some shit that she shouldn’t even have to know about, and the arsehole’s gettin’ high as a fuckin’ kite instead of findin’ her? He makes me sick. He’s everything I hate about the life. And he’s more than likely exactly where I’ll end up, because this is what we are—this is what livin’ in the club gets you: bitterness, enemies, and a shit-tonne of bad blood.

Review: Cartel By: Lili St. Germain

The first full length Gypsy Brothers novel from the smash hit author Lili St. Germain.

How much is a life worth?

I grew up in Colombia, the daughter of a wealthy drug lord. I lived a life of extravagance, until one day a drug run went horribly wrong and everything came crashing down around us.

I was given away. A payment for a debt. The Gypsy Brothers Motorcycle Club became my new owners, and I did everything I could to survive.
But falling in love with the man who owned me wasn't part of the plan...

If you have read the Gypsy Brother series by Lili St. Germain you know who Dornan Ross is and the evil that he is capable of.  You have heard of Mariana and had a glimpse of her past but in Cartel we learn how she became a part of Dornan’s life and how while their relationship is toxic and destructive, in a sick and twisted way  they are perfect for one another.  If you haven’t read the Gypsy Brother series yet, I would before continuing.  For me I think it makes Cartel a more intense read, because even while Dornan is a sick twisted fuck, he always has been, but I think something makes him even worse, something we have yet to read but at times there is a glimpse of a heart in his body, and that right there is what has made me go from hating him to being curious as to how this will unfold.

Mariana isn’t all sweet and innocent either, and while I felt major emotion for what she has gone through so far, at the same time I keep thinking to myself the bitch is in a twisted way deserving of this.  Yeah that makes me sound like a bitch but you know what?  Oh well, that is how I felt while reading it and I am not going to apologize for how I feel.

I love Lili St. Germain’s writing.  She knows how to make the perfect recipe of twisted, dark, angsty, tear inducing, throw your kindle in frustration mix that has you addicted to her books.  I loved Cartel, and I am anxious to see what Kingpin and Empire will bring to this dark twisted world that Dornan and Mariana live in.

Release Blitz: The VIP Trilogy By: M. Robinson

VIP:
The beginning: A point in time or space where something starts.

32-year-old Sebastian Vanwell, a very successful yacht broker, always loved the design and architecture of a luxurious yacht. His only addiction was being on the water. He loved it, he thrived on it, and he needed it in his life. After a very stable, loving childhood with a few bumps, Sebastian married the love of his life: the one person who he knew would always be there. Julia was his rock, and he loved her more than life itself. Sebastian kept his addiction to the water under control, wanting to keep his time with his wife and son his number one obsession. That was, until he saw her.

Ysabelle Telle hit him hard, knocking the wind from his lungs. This new addiction haunted him, the one compulsion that he couldn't control no matter how hard he tried. Coming from worlds apart beautiful, dark, complicated Ysabelle didn't have the rich, protected background that Sebastian had. She had lived a life of hell, growing up in poverty and horrific living conditions with a drug-addict mother who never cared. Ysabelle now lived for one person, and one person only: herself. She was pure perfection. Her beauty, along with a flawless body, had men lined up and driveling over her- ensuring her success as a VIP.

There are too many words that describe the effects when two diverse worlds like theirs collide. They both have too much to lose to get caught in the forceful pull, which could destroy them both.
Warning sex/drugs/language. Mature readers only.

The Madam Synopsis:
Some people need love…

I need sex, money, control, and power.

Anyone could have those four things, but only one could have VIP. Becoming Madam was never a choice for me, it was a mandated order from the most powerful woman I knew- my mother. I was born to fill her shoes, never to make mistakes, or to show weakness.

You are the product of your environment. They say the apple doesn't fall far from the tree; you learn from what you see, not from what you're told. Nature vs. Nurture. I learned from it all; what I saw, what I didn't see, what I was told, and from reading between the lines.

I was raised with the belief that the world spun ONLY because of me. I held power as far back as I can remember, saw things no one ever talks about, and witnessed illegal acts of sex, drugs, and money by the time I was eighteen.

You saw a glimpse of me in VIP, now see it from the beginning. Enter my world where anything goes; no judgments, no remorse, no guilt. You play by my rules, or you don’t play at all. There are no limits to what I can do, or to what I can show you…I will ensure my legacy by any means necessary.
My name is Lilith Veronica Stone, and I am The Madam.

MVP:
Ysabelle
I love you.

Three words that can make or break you.

I thought I needed to find myself. I thought I wasn’t happy. I thought I needed more out of life.

I didn’t.

I’m more lost now than I was when I left. I have no answers, just endless amounts of questions. It was only a matter of time until the truth came to light. I never imagined it would change my entire life and everything I thought to be true.

It was all a game.

Except I wasn’t a player.

I was a pawn.

Sebastian
The end.

Two words that have several meanings. I never thought I’d lose her. But did I ever really have her…

Or did VIP?

Can love conquer all?

I originally was going to review each book in this series individually, or at least that was my plan before I read VIP, The Madam, and MVP.  Now after have reading these books I decided to do one review for the entire series.  Why you may ask?  Well not only would my reviews end up being extremely long if I did each book individually, I also don’t know how I would review them.  If you look on Goodreads or even Amazon at these books you see most people either love or hate them.  I am kind of in between love and hate.  Are these books badly written?  Nope, not even close.  Did the subject bother me?  No and if you have read my reviews in the past you know how much I love a great sexy read.  So what made me keep from loving it but not hating it either?  It is hard to place one single reason to go over the scope of three books, but I think it honestly had to do with the beginning of VIP and how long it took for us to get to the present time and the story behind Ysabelle and Sebastian.  Ysabella has a very pain filled past and I at times had tears in my eyes for all she went through.  Sebastian I have to be honest, he just plain irritated me to no end.  I think while we needed to know the past to understand the present, at some point I stopped caring.  I wish that we could have had more of Sebastian and Ysabelle’s relationship from the start, but that is just my opinion.

I finally warmed up to Lilith aka The Madam but I still was harboring some strong dislike from VIP when I started reading it.  She has a reason for why she is so heartless and a bitch.  I will just say this.  You will love to hate her, or at least I did.  This story has angst just like VIP and does leaving you on the edge of your seat at times needing, not wanting but needing, more.

In MVP we return to Ysabelle and Sebastian relationship and while we do get an ending to their story, the road to it is bumpy and emotional to say the least.  I think I overall was just disappointed in how things played out.  Again there was angst like you wouldn’t believe but sometimes a reader will say enough is enough and for me this was enough.

Would I recommend this series to others despite my feelings about it?  Yes I would.  I would because these are really good books, that has never been in question, but I wasn’t as hooked as some others have been but that is in no way any fault of the author or her books, it’s mine.  Did some of these scenes make me wish my husband was in close reach?  You bet your panties it did, because Mrs. Robinson can write some hot as hell scenes.  So form your own opinion, read about Ysabelle, Sebastian and the Madam and see how you all will like it.

M. Robinson loves to read. She favors anything that has angst, romance, triangles, cheating, love, and of course sex! She has been reading since the Babysitters Club and R.L. Stein.
She was born in New Jersey but was raised in Tampa Fl. She is currently pursuing her Ph.D in psychology, with two years left.
She is married to an amazing man who she loves to pieces. They have two German Shepherd mixes and a Tabby cat.

Review: Six Brothers (Gypsy Brothers #2) by Lili St. Germain

One down, six to go.  Sammi has lied, cheated and began her payback on Dornan Ross.  His sons will pay for the sins of the father as well as their own and she can’t wait to watch the pain he feels destroy him.  That is, if it doesn’t destroy her first.
Sammi’s pursuit of vengeance against those who damaged her has just begun, but while she is acting out her revenge she is also being hurt at the same time.  She is fucking the father of her rapists and him being one as well.  Dornan is a sick fuck normally, add to it him grieving over the death of his favorite son, and he turns into someone the devil wouldn’t want to fuck with.  Sammi knows that she needs to watch her own back, protect herself as much as she can and get her vengeance before people figure out that it’s all her that’s bringing so much destruction to the Gypsy Brothers MC.

Jace is still unaware of Sammi’s true identity or plans, but he protects her as best as he can.  He likes Sammi, and tries to get her to leave his father.  He is her savior too many times to count, it’s almost like he is trying to make up for being unable to save Juliette.  Jace may be one of the nicer members and nothing like his brothers but you don’t want to cross him.
When the next brother comes to his death, suspicions on Sammi start and even Jace is looking at her differently.  She barely gets away with her life after she almost accidently dies along with the son she deemed her next victim.  Time is running out, one of these times she isn’t going to be able to con her way out of being suspected as the reason behind the deaths.

This series gets better and better and more mind fuck disturbing with every book and this is only the second book people!  I love this dark fucked up world that Lili St. Germain has created, I want to see each brother suffer as much as possible as well as Dornan.  The only one who I hope doesn’t get hurt is Jace, he is the good in a shit ton of bad, Sammi needs Jace, and I hope that by the end of this series they will be able to move forward with their lives together.
