Review: Pucked By Helena Hunting

With a famous NHL player for a step-brother, Violet Hall is well acquainted with the playboy reputation many hockey stars come with. She’s smart enough to steer clear of those hot, well-built boys with unparalleled stamina. That is until she meets the legendary team captain—Alex Waters.

Violet isn’t interested in his pretty, beat-up face, or his rock-hard six-pack abs. But when Alex inadvertently obliterates Violet’s previous misapprehension regarding the inferior intellect of hockey players, he becomes more than just a hot body with a face to match.

In what can only be considered a complete lapse in judgment, Violet finds out just how good Alex is with the hockey stick in his pants. But what starts out as a one-night stand, quickly turns into something more. Post-night of orgasmic magic, Alex starts to call, and text, and e-mail and send extravagant—and quirky—gifts, making him difficult to ignore, and even more difficult not to like.

The problem is, the media portrays Alex as a total player, and Violet doesn’t want to be part of the game.
I never like to compare one author to another, because sometimes I worry that they may not like that happening to them or because sadly some people will take things out of context and start trouble.  But this time, I have to compare Helena Hunting to Tara Sivec and I promise it is in a great way.  If you are a fan of Tara Sivec and love her outrageous and sometimes inappropriate humor then you will love Pucked by Helena Hunting in my opinion.  I haven’t laughed that hard, waking up my husband while he was sleeping, since my last Tara Sivec book.  I couldn’t breathe at times I was laughing that hard, I constantly had tears in my eyes, good ones of course, and I think I still giggle inappropriately if I see or hear the word beaver.  If anyone is reading this in Michigan and know what exit 69 on I-75 is named you will appreciate my snorting anytime I see it.

If you have a stick up your ass or think that people joking about beavers and monster cocks is inappropriate or not funny then Pucked isn’t for you.  If you can’t find humor in sending gift cards to ones boobs, then Pucked isn’t for you.  If you just can’t let go and laugh, because let’s be honest here people this book is one of the funniest books I have EVER read, then Pucked probably isn’t for you.  However, if you are like me and giggle at things that are completely inappropriate and have no shame doing so then Pucked is for you.  If you are not easily offended and have a sense of humor then Pucked is for you.  If you are wondering what all these beaver comments are about then check out Pucked and be prepared to laugh your ass off for days later when someone mentions beavers.

Helena Hunting I can’t wait to see what else you have planned for us readers who can appreciate one’s beaver and can quickly figure out what jilling off means.  I hope that comparing you to one of my other favorite authors was taken as the compliment it was intended because you ma’am are right up there with the master of inappropriate.

Blog Tour & Giveaway: Passion and Ponies by Tara Sivec

Ava Gilmore has the perfect life. She’s surrounded by people who love her, she’s having sex on a regular basis and her Coach bag collection just grew by three. The problem? She’s expected to follow in her family’s footsteps at Seduction and Snacks, working with sex toys and baked goods.

Ava loves vibrators and cupcakes as much as the next person, she’d just rather play with them than sell them. With her shopping addiction reaching an all time high and her credit card bills piling up, Ava decides to put her obsession to good use and start a fashion blog. But she has one other problem - the guy she’s having sex with has a My Little Pony addiction.

While dealing with her family’s disappointment and confusion over her choices, she finds support in the unlikeliest of places – Tyler Branson. Tyler has slowly wormed his way into her bed, her a$$ and her heart and he refuses to leave. Tyler has his own family problems to deal with and for the first time ever, Ava finds herself feeling bad for the annoying, immature guy and chanting “Friendship is magic!” during the sex she’d swore to stop having with him.

Ava needs to get her life in order once and for all before she finds herself doing something she never wanted to do – fall in love with a Brony.

Ava and Tyler.  These two are so different from each other it’s not even funny.  Ava is the fashionista, Tyler is a Brony with an unnatural knowledge of sex toys.  Ava hates working for her mother’s company.  She wants to run her fashion blog.  Tyler has no real direction, he is a Brony and loves kinky sex.  Ava can be such a bitch.  Tyler just wants to have more sex with Ava.   Ava puts up with Tyler even though he annoys her, Tyler well he just wants Ava.  These two may be polar opposites but they are the best thing to happen to each other, they support each other, even when it’s hard for the other person to understand why they are like that.  Don’t question it, they are just weirdly perfect for each other.  You can’t help who you love.

The rest of the gang from the Chocolate Lovers and Chocoholics series play huge parts in Passion and Ponies.  OMG I swear I think Claire, Carter, Liz, Jim Jenny, Drew, Gavin and Charlotte have gotten even funnier and crazier.  I loved how they all still mess with each other and are still one big dysfunctional family.  There are some OMFG moments and some that are like I so should have called that a while ago moments as well!

I learned real quick while reading this book not to eat or drink. Not. One. Thing. Or it would end up all over my Kindle because just when I thought it was safe, I would read something so fucking hilarious that I would either spit out what I was drinking (and no damn it I am not a quitter lol) or choke because I couldn’t breathe from laughing my ass off.  I almost peed my pants, I had tears in my eyes from laughing so hard.  I could not contain the laughter and giggles that Passion and Ponies caused.  I woke my husband up so much the night I was reading with my laughing I think he was one more laugh away from driving me to Tara Sivec’s house, dropping me off, and telling her you deal with her damn it.  Do you get my point?  This book is funny as shit!

I have a whole new view on My Little Ponies.  I played with them when I was little, I am sure if I looked around my parent’s basement that I would find some and if I did I would proudly display them damn it cause Friendship IS Magic!

I wish I could type the perfect review for this book but I can’t.  I just keep laughing and it’s making it impossible to type.  All I can say is get off your asses, and go read this book now damn it cause we all need a little magic in our lives in the form of My Little Ponies and all they represent.  Ms. Sivec you are one hilarious raunchy genius and I bow down to the queen of funny.
