Book Spotlight and Giveaway: The Devil DeVere Series by Victoria Vane

One of my favorite authors is Victoria Vane. I have a deep fondness for historical romances. After all I did cut my romance reading on good old fashioned bodice rippers! Victoria Vane has written a wonderful series that takes place in Georgian England. It's fun, it's erotic, and it's romantic. At the center of it all is the Devil DeVere! He's the original bad boy, the original Jerk of My Dreams. Because let's face it, he's a jerk. He has his reasons, but yeah, he's a jerk. And we love him! Once the obstacles are out of his way, he takes what he wants and loves with all he has!

Today, we're spotlighting the series the Devil DeVere. In addition, the lovely author Victoria Vane is giving away an Kindle Fire! So, check out her books and enter the giveaway!

With the Devil in Charge ... there could be Hell to Pay!

She needs a protector... Once seduced by whispered promises of a faithless lover, Phoebe Scott is determined to make a name on the Covent Garden stage, but after three years of bit parts, she realizes she'll never achieve her goals on her own merits. Acknowledging her success is dependent on a powerful patron, Phoebe is now resolved to find a protector to secure her future. With this goal in mind, she seeks out the best prospects at London's most notorious brothel.

He's avowed to celibacy... Sir Edward "Ned" Chambers has been lost and lonely since his wife's death in childbirth. Burdened with blame, he has sworn to a life of celibacy, but after three years, he is inwardly edgy, irritable, and increasingly discontent. Perceiving the cause behind Ned's unhappiness, as well as the obvious cure, his best friend and rake of the first order, "The Devil" DeVere, is hell-bent to return Ned to the land of the living. DeVere's machinations result in an outrageous wager that could lead Ned to a new love... or land them all in the Tower!

All bets are off in in this racy Georgian romp! (romantic comedy with mature content)

Review and Giveaway: Jewel of the East by Victoria Vane

I love happy endings. The guy the gets the girl. The girl gets her romantic fairy-tale ending. It’s just what the heart needs. Add into that a wounded warrior and I’m all over it!

Jewel of the East continues the story of friends formed in England in the 1700’s. A group of boys joined forces at their school and have remained friends as they’ve grown older. The exploits are legendary and their prowess as loves is unrivaled. But, just like any bad-boy, when they fall in love, they fall hard.

Simon Singleton is a lover, a poet and as bawdy as they come. His dad, tired of Simon’s antics, purchases a commission for him and sends him off to the army. Little do they know, this will forever alter Simon’s life. And not in a good way.

Simon is thought dead. He’s not. He’s just been held prisoner for six years. Those six years have changed him. Scared him. Those scars are not just on the outside, they’re on the inside as well.

Salime is just as scared. Her story is much more tragic. But she’s a remarkable woman. She’s made the best of her circumstances and has done everything she can to take care of herself. She’s honorable, desirable and beautiful on the inside and the outside.

Together Salime and Simon embark on a journey. She’s there to help Simon. But Simon ends up helping her just as much. Unfortunately things are not always easy. Sometimes they take some effort, a little heartache and whole lot of faith.

I loved this story from beginning to end. It tugged at my heartstrings, it made me believe in love and happily ever afters all over again.  I loved listening to the stories Salime told. Stories of another time, another place. Stories that will bring you to your knees. But the most amazing thing? The most amazing thing was watching what Simon did for Salime. It goes beyond the physical into the emotional.

Jewel of the East is a beautiful story of love and healing.

"I need you Diana. You are my light, my sustenance. You are everything to me."

Diana and the Devil DeVere have had a turbulent, rocky, hot romance from the very beginning. Their marriage is no less turbulent and HOT!

Diana finds “proof” of his infidelity and confronts him. When he explains what the “proof” really was, he demands her total trust. He’s tired of living through her reservations.

What follows is a night of unbridled hotness that will leave you panting!

Review: Treacherous Temptations by Victoria Vane

Victoria Vane writes some of the most intriguing stories! Mary Edwardes has been living in the country, enjoying her life. Her guardian, Sir Richard, informs her it’s time for her to marry and must come to London to find a husband. Little does she know, her guardian plans to use her to further his own interests. He doesn’t care anything about her happiness, only his own.

Hadley has been out of England for the last seven years. Living a life he didn’t really want. When he returns to England he finds himself the pawn of others once again. How will he ever break free.

Barbara is Mary Edwardes companion and Hadley’s step-mother. She has her own plans. She wants to be free of Sir Richard and keep Hadley for herself.

Mary Edwardes and Hadley are put upon a course that will alter their lives forever. Along the way they find themselves falling for each other. But when Mary finds out the truth about Hadley will she continue to trust him?

I love Victoria Vane’s stories. They seldom follow the traditional formula for historical romances and I find that very refreshing and often intriguing.

Treacherous Temptations continues the tradition of Victoria Vane novels by being unexpected! This story has a darker edge to it than most of Victoria Vane’s novels. It’s more sinister and it did not appear we would get an HEA out of it.

Sir Richard and Barbara were absolutely despicable. I couldn’t stand either one of them. They are vile people and it definitely came through!

Hadley was interesting. I wanted to like him and at times I did while at others I detested him. It was quite a quandary for me.  I did finally end up liking him in the end but it was touch and go for a while.

Mary Edwardes started out completely likable but I quickly found myself frustrated with her. She was so naïve and trusting. Even after Barbara was so mean to her, Mary continued to trust her. I just wanted to shake her!

The intrigue of the story kept me glued to the pages, as I wanted to discover if Hadley and Mary would get their HEA. I had to know if they discovered the plot between Sir Richard and Mary.
