Review: Heaven's Sinners by Bella Jewel

Everyone has a past.
Everyone has someone they loved and lost.
What if the person you loved and lost is back in your life?
How do you get past the hurt to find that love again?

Ciara and Spike have one of the hardest, most difficult pasts ever. Many years ago they were best friends. They both wanted the other but were too afraid to act on it. Then Ciara’s sister, Cheyenne, decided she wanted Spike. Now, Cheyenne is dead, Spike and Ciara hate each other, and the drama continues.

This story killed me. I cried through nearly the entire thing. Ciara and Spike just kept hurting each other. They couldn’t stop! I wanted to hit them both upside the head. Just when they would start to make progress, one of them would say something stupid and mess it all up again.

I do love how Ciara handled Spike on several occasions. Instead of running, she faced him head on with a smile on her face. It left Spike reeling, not knowing what was going on.

Once Spike and Ciara finally got together it was great. Spike held nothing back and Ciara gave as good as she got. It was intense. The whole story is intense. It’s full of heart-ache, mistakes, forgiveness, and moving forward. It takes a lot of courage and a big heart to be able to forgive someone. To be able to move past the things Ciara and Spike did to each other is phenomenal.

In case you’re wondering why he’s called Spike, you’ll have to read to find out. I guarantee you’ll be left with your mouth hanging open. I know mine was.

Ciara also manages to make friends with one of the guys in Spike’s MC, Muff. He was a great secondary character and I’m really hoping he gets his own story. He was a riot!

Of course we still see Addi and Cade in this one. I love seeing the past couples in series show up again. They’re not just secondary characters that make an appearance, they have a significant role in this story and I like it. I like knowing they were left behind in their own story. I like that they continue to live on in the following stories.

I only have one complaint about this story. The level of cussing went up dramatically. I don’t remember it bothering me in the first one. But this one, it feels like every other word was the f-bomb. Cussing in stories doesn’t usually bother me, but at one point I had to put the book down because it was just too much.

We have what appears to be a resolution to the problem Spike had. We don’t know for certain, just an assumption on the part of the MC Club. We’re left with them working on finding out for certain. No big cliffhanger, just a little uncertainty. We also leave Ciara and Spike with the HEA. Even though they’re big bad bikers, and they’ve done some pretty crappy things in their lives, you still love them. You still want them to have the HEA. They’re completely heartless. In fact, they almost seem….normal.

I’m thrilled to say I have the next one in the series in my hot little hands. I’ve moved on to Knight’s Sinner and I must say, it’s starting off with a bang.

Blog Tour & Giveaway: Hells Knights and Heaven's Sinners (The MC Sinners #1 & 2) by Bella Jewel

HELL’S KNIGHTS SYNOPSIS

Sex. Who really knows sex? I mean, we've all had sex, great sex even but when you get down to the details, how many of us actually see sex for the raw, primal act that it is?
I thought I knew sex. I've had sex. Heck, I've felt lust. Once, I've even felt love. I thought I knew exactly what sex was.
Until I met Cade.
He's the meaning of sex.
He's a biker.
He's dangerous.
He's powerful.
He's dominant.
He wants me.
My world is about to change, for the better? I don't know. But here's my story, I hope you're ready for it because it's not the beautiful, heart wrenching story most people have to tell. It's passionate, forbidden, morally incorrect and downright, fucking beautiful.

REVIEWS

Warning: There are scenes of drug abuse, torture, rape, attempted suicide and extreme violence in this book.

Holy Shit! This is an intense story that will have you riveted from the very beginning. I picked up the book and finished it in one sitting. I could NOT put it down!

Addison’s story is gut-wrenching, heart-breaking and yet full of hope and promise. Addison has not had an easy life and that’s an understatement. She was abandoned by her dad at age 4, her mother is a drugged out whore whose pimp rapes Addison on a regular basis. The fact that Addison is relatively normal is a testament to her strength physically, emotionally and psychologically.

Cade is a badass biker whose history is sad and full of pain. He rude, crude and socially unacceptable! But once he meets Addison, all that rudeness and crudeness gets focused on Addison. He wants Addison and he’ll do anything to get her!

Addison is running for her life. She runs to her dad thinking he never wanted her. She runs thinking she can start over. She runs to find a new future. But things are not always what they seem. People aren’t what she thinks and she learns to trust and lean on others.

I loved Addison and Cade. They were wonderful together. He pushes her and she pushes right back. Add on top of all that Alpha-Male Badassness going on, the awesome sex and steamy connection to get one hell of a story that will keep you up!

But be warned. It’s not pretty. There’s no flowers, no candy and no romantic dates. It’s just down and dirty.
Addison has had a shit life to put it mildly.  She has done things to survive that most women would rather die than go through.  Her mom is a whore and an addict.  She has suffered so much.  Her father is the President of the Hell’s Knights and hasn’t been in her life since she was a little girl.  She is running from something but doesn’t share with her father or anyone else in the club all that is her past.  What Addison doesn’t know is that trouble is just around the corner waiting.

Cade is the Vice President of the Hell’s Knights and he is one sexy as sin biker.  He clashes with Addison from the moment she walks into the compound, but they have this chemistry that can’t be denied.  When they come together the sparks fly.  I loved how protective of Addison he got when he learned just a small bit of the hell she went through growing up.  He is as stubborn as a mule at times but I loved that about him.
Holy shit the sex between these two could set fire to your reading device especially their first time.  There is such an intense heat between them that, and when they both make mistakes, it is like adding gasoline to a blazing inferno.  These two are perfect for each other in more ways than one.  These two can heal each other and help to keep the demons away.

You get to see Addison’s past a lot throughout the book.  I really liked how the author did that, it makes you have a better picture in your mind of what she went through.  I would have loved to have some chapters in Cade’s POV, especially when he is first meeting Addison.

Hell’s Knights is the first book in the MC Sinners series and it is a good start.  You are introduced to some of the members of the Hell’s Knights as well as some from another MC.  If Ms. Jewel does this series correctly it will be one that fans of biker books will enjoy.  I look forward to book 2 to see how she is going to hook readers into falling for these bikers.

Spike knows tragedy, he knows that feelings are better left hidden. He refuses to put his heart out there again, it's a pain he's not willing to ever let himself feel. He's got a mission. He's got a goal. Nothing is going to get in his way. He will seek his revenge.

But then there's Ciara, the sister of his deceased wife. She's beautiful and damned determined to throw herself into his life in hopes they can reform an old friendship, but Spike won't hear of it, and Ciara refuses to give up.

Who will win the battle of wills?

REVIEW

Spike, the President of Heaven’s Sinners, has suffered a loss that he blames himself for and can’t seem to forgive himself.  When his wife died not only was he dealing with the loss, he was also dealing with her sister Ciara and her parents blaming him as well.  He has shut down emotionally and doesn’t ever want to love anyone again, or does he?  Spike and Ciara used to be best friends, until Spike broke her heart and friendship one night.  I felt bad for Spike on so many levels.  He lost his wife, his unborn child, and his best friend.  Ciara blamed him for a long time for her sister’s death, but she finally came to terms and tried to mend the past but Spike kept pushing her away and would be a complete and utter asshole to her, which was understandable.  Spike needed to work through his issues and not only accept forgiveness but to forgive himself as well.

Ciara regrets how she treated Spike after her sister’s death and just wants to make things right again between her and Spike.  They were once best friends, what he didn’t know was that she wanted him for her own but was scared to lose the friendship that they had in order to move forward in their relationship.  When you read about what happened between them, it made me want to slap Spike across his spikes (read the book and you will find out what I mean) because damn it he ruined so much when he did that.

When these two finally get together holy shit!   Spike, omg Spike, you my man are one smoking hot as hell biker.  There is a reason why his nickname is Spike and I for one would love to have firsthand knowledge of why he is called Spike.  The connection that they share is one that has been damaged and now is stringer once it was repaired.

For me Heaven’s Sinners was a more intense emotional read than Hell’s Knights but it was still a kick ass book.  Guilt, broken friendships, unknown love, forgiveness and finding the path back to your other half of your heart are what this book is about.  In my review for Hell’s Knights I stated that I hoped Ms. Jewel would do this series right and if so she would have a great series in the works.  In my opinion, she has.  I would recommend this series to my family and friends to read for sure.  I can’t wait to see whose book will be next.
