Review: Tristan's Lyceum Wolves by Kim Grosso

Betrayal
Heartache
Fresh Starts
Finding Home

All of these things can be found in Tristan’s Lyceum Wolves. Kym Grosso has weaved a world where vampires, shifters and witches exist alongside humans. It’s a magical world that has it’s own laws and traditions.

In Tristan’s Lyceum Wolves, Tristan has finally found his mate. It’s been over 100 years but he’s finally found her, not that he was looking.

His mate appears to be human. But then, things aren’t always what they seem. As Kallie’s past collides with her future with Tristan, she’ll have to learn to trust. Even if it could put her life on the line.

I think I’m in love with Tristan. He’s not perfect. In fact he screws up a lot. But he’s man enough to admit when he screws up and say I’m sorry. That right there makes me swoon! Add in the fact that he’s an alpha and likes to play kinky games, and well….

Kallie comes from an abusive pack. She’s hiding in plain sight. When she meets Tristan, she puts it all on the line. I like the fact that she’s a real character. She has reasons to be cautious and she doesn’t trust easily, but she doesn’t let it define her. Kallie is willing to take a chance.

The betrayal and misdeeds of those close to us always hurt the worst. Tristan and Kallie have some serious issues they need to deal with when someone in their pack betrays them.

Once again we start the next book in the series and I’m looking forward to it! I’m so excited for Logan, although I’m not happy at the way it happens!

Review: Werewolves be Damned by Stacey Kennedy

Sucked into a world that co-exists with ours, I couldn’t stop reading this book. I was hooked from the very first word.

Werewolves, witches, vampires and guardians all live in either the Otherworld or the Earthworld. Nexi Jones has never known about the Otherworld. Then her parents are murdered in front of her and everything changes. Nothing is as she thought.

Once she’s brought back into the Otherworld, she gains her powers as guardian and witch. She also finds Kyden. But nothing will stop her from seeking revenge for her the murder of her parents. Can Kyden keep her alive long enough to get vengeance?

I think Stacey did an amazing job of building a world that co-exists with ours. It’s seamless and beautiful at the same time.

Kyden is an alpha-male that wants Nexi. Nexi is strong-willed, tough and independent. And she wants Kyden. Kyden was amazing. He’s a caveman and his caveman tendencies show through. Yet, he knows Nexi needs something different, so he does his best to give it to her. I loved when his inner caveman comes out. Contrary to what you may think, so does Nexi!

There was definitely some sexual tension between Nexi and Kyden. It wasn’t as intense as I expected or wanted. When Nexi and Kyden finally got together though, the sparks did fly.

The suspense of the hunt as well as the targeting of Nexi really added to the story. The secondary characters added a depth to the story and I’m as excited about learning more about them as I am Nexi and Kyden.

The second story Witches Be Dazzled continues the story of Nexi and Kyden. I’m very excited about that as I think there is a lot more to them and we didn’t get it all in this one.

Review: Gone with the Wolf

Hot Alpha Males who think they have all the answers.

How hard they fall when they meet their match.

That’s exactly what happened to Drake Wilder when he met Emelia Hudson. He’s controlled, logical and CEO of Wilder Financial. Then he meets Emelia, free-spirit, follow your gut Emelia. All bets are off!

Drake Wilder shares control of the pack with his twin brother Silas. Their father declared that the first brother to find his Luminary, or soul mate, would be alpha of the pack and the other would get control of the family estate. Drake never wanted to be alpha. He was happy controlling the estate. When he met Emelia, he knew what this meant.  Silas was not happy. Silas wants it all, control of the pack and the estate.

This was an interesting read to me. I love paranormal stories and this one is no different. Kristin Miller brought me a paranormal story that fit some of the molds we’re used to and look for in a paranormal story while still bringing something new to it.

I liked the tension of Silas going after Emelia. It added a nice touch to the story. Emelia was a breath of fresh air. She was independent and carefree. She worked hard for what she wanted and wouldn’t go down without a fight.

Drake was the typical alpha male wolf. In fact, he was the typical alpha male CEO. However, he does learn.

I think the name Kristin Miller gave this book was perfect. There are touches, slight touches, of classic movies through out the book. The most obvious one should be noted by the title of this book. The slight touches of classic movies added an extra layer to this book and I loved it!

I’m eagerly anticipating the next one in this series. I think it’s going to be great!

Review: Training Their Mate by Vella Day

Liz was on a personal mission to kill the man who tormented and raped her mother over and over again throughout the years.  What Liz didn’t know about the man was that he was a werewolf and that he can’t just be killed.  When she is attacked and is rescued by the hot and sexy Trax she doesn’t know that there is more to the intense sexual heat she feels every time they get close.  Add in Dante, Trax’s brother, and the heat turns into a raging inferno.  Liz is unaware that Trax and Dante are werewolves as well, but they are the good guys and that she is their mate.  When she finds out how will she react, will she accept the two men that she has quickly fallen in love with, or will she turn her back and walk away?

Training Their Mate is the first book in the Pack Wars series.  I am a huge fan of paranormal books, especially shifter books and I feel that this was a good start to the series.  The sex scenes are smoking hot, especially when Trax and Dante take Liz into their play room.  Trax is the Dom, while Dante is more laid back but still likes some control.  I loved Dante’s character as well as Trax’s need for everything to be controlled.  Liz, at first I wasn’t so sure of, but she warmed up to me the more I read.

This is pretty short, longer than a Novella but shorter than a true Novel.  I would love to see the future books in this series expanded a little more so that we can get more from these hot as hell wolves.  I am curious to see how this series will play out and want to read more in the future.

Review: Becoming Aware

What do you do when your whole life changes and nothing is as it seems? Abriya Rodriguez is about to find out.

Abriya has spent year being bullied by other students in school. She’s been called fat and ugly. She’s been tripped and had food dumped on her. Then Clarence defends her. He’s the hottest boy in school. At the end of school he tells her he’ll be back for her in a few years. It’s not their time yet. Then he walks out of her life.

Years later she’s in university, her grandmother dies and she finds out she’s a werewolf. How much worse can it get?

I LOVED this story. I love shape-shifter stories. Shape-shifter stories that are erotic and hot as hell are even better! Leesha McCoy has introduced us to a new world of shape-shifting hotties! Clarence is a gentleman, a shape-shifter, and OMG HOT! Abriya is a wonderful heroine. She’s taken charge of her life. She’s gotten in shape, made new friends and doesn’t take crap from anybody! When Clarence comes back for her, her whole world changes.

Abriya is a strong character. I like how Leesha McCoy made her character strong enough to take on the enemy and protect Clarence. She’s tough and feminine. Clarence is strong as well. He’s the alpha male, strong, caring, and secure enough in himself to not feel threatened when Abriya defends him. He insists on taking care of her but has no problems letting her take care of him when need be.

Abriya handles all of these changes as well as can be expected. She has her moments when she lets it all fly and her frustrations, questions, and insecurities come to the surface. Clarence handles it all in stride. He’s not perfect, but love Abriya and gives her what she needs to deal with all of this.

The passion between Abriya and Clarence is HOT! They can’t keep their hands off each other and anytime they’re alone, the clothes fly…..OFF! Not only does Clarence dominate out of the bedroom, he dominates in it as well. He takes such sweet care of Abriya.

I have to warn you, at one point in the story you will need Kleenex! I was bawling my eyes out. It was so sad. Clarence gets hurt and doesn’t remember Abriya. He had no clue who Abriya was. I was crying! It was impressive that she didn’t leave. She stayed away from him until he approached her, but she stayed. She endured the pain of him not knowing her. Wondering if he would remember her. It would have been easier for her to leave, but she didn’t. You don’t abandon those you love just because it gets difficult.

This was a fantastic beginning to a wonderful series. Leesha McCoy has a way with words that sucks you into a new world. I’m very excited about this series and I’m looking forward to the next one!

Blog Tour: Wicked Cravings by Suzanne Write

Hot Alpha Male Shifter
Feisty Female who won’t take any shit from anyone

OMFG! Can it get any better? I’m SO loving this series. Wolf-shifter stories always seem to get me. There’s so much authors can do with a good shifter story and Suzanne Wright definitely delivers.

Dante is Beta for the Phoenix Pack. He has his own issues, but he doesn’t let them stop him from taking care of his pack. In fact, he puts the pack above everything and everyone else.

Jaime has wanted Dante for so long. He’s rejected her time and again. She finally decided enough was enough and moved on. Dante doesn’t like that. Jaime has her own special set of issues. Actually, she only has one issue, but it’s a biggie! It’s beg enough that she’ll never bond with another wolf. She can’t take that chance.

When Dante realizes that Jaime is moving on, he gets jealous. He just won’t admit he wants her. He’s in denial. But then, aren’t most men? (sorry….I digress) Dante soon realizes that Jaime is hiding something. Being Beta he decides to find out her secret. Only Jaime won’t share that secret. She’ll be banished from the pack. She’s holding on as tight as she can.

What follows is an amazing romance between Jaime and Dante. Dante basically refuses to take no as an answer from Jaime. He sets out to force her to realize they belong together. Jaime leaves, he brings her back. She denies him, he forces her to submit. It’s FREAKIN’ AWESOME!

Of course none of this is that straightforward. Dante has one wolf claiming they’re mates. He denies it, she insists it’s true. This causes all kinds of problems for Dante and Jaime. He has another ex-girlfriend, almost imprinted and bonded with, trying to get him back. Again, Jaime has to deal with this, as does Dante.

But the biggest problem? The biggest problem is Jaime. No, I’m not telling what it is. You’ll just have to read it to find out. But, it’s a doozy. Especially for a shifter!

This is an amazing series. I’m loving it so much! While, they are wolf shifters and have the mentality of MINE when it comes to mates, it’s more than the typical paranormal series. The entire basis for this pack and how it was started makes it different.

Suzanne writes some wonderful stories. In one minute I’ll be giggling at the exchange between the characters and the next I’ll be crying because it’s heart-wrenching. The periphery characters are just as rich as the main characters. It makes it easy to switch to a new couple in the next book. We’ve already met the characters, so we know them and love them. We want to see them get their HEA. We want to see them argue, bicker, and most importantly….fall in love.

I’m ready for the next book, but unfortunately I have to wait! Gotta hate that! Write FASTER!!!!
