Blog Tour: Surrender Series By Lori King

Surrender Series

Weekend Surrender Cover Image
After another painful betrayal and break up, Rachael Morgan sets out to prove to herself that she can handle a good time with a man and walk away sexually satisfied and with her heart intact. She could have never imagined that she would be agreeing to the proposition of a lifetime. Every woman in Stone River, Texas would jump at this chance, but she’s afraid she’ll leave pieces of her heart behind.

Raised on their family ranch the four Brooks brothers have always shared everything. Even women. When they find themselves face to face with the one person who could complete them all, they set out on a journey to claim her for their own.
Fate can place them all in the right place at the right time, but will Rachel be able to overcome her relationship scars, or is she destined to live her life alone believing that no man ever stays?
(M/F/M/M/M Ménage, consensual BDSM, bondage, spanking, HEA, There is no touching or titillation between siblings.)

P.S.A. Get an extra pair of panties ladies or have your significant other (either real life or your favorite toy) close by because this book is panty soaking hot.
Four brothers who have wanted the same woman and finally are getting their shot and not only the weekend with her but to show her that they want it all. Hell yes!  Now there isn’t anything that happens with the brothers that would be creepy, are they in scenes together yes but their focus is all on Rachel and let me say their focus is intense in a good way.  I loved each and every one of the brothers, while they all have different personalities and approaches to Rachel, they all mesh together perfectly.

Rachel wants the Brooks brothers, but she is scared and every time you think that she will let them in during the weekend they agreed upon, she pulls back faster than if she was avoiding a bite from a rattlesnake.  Is she being weak?  Not really.  She has issues that she needs to overcome and they are ones that can’t just go away overnight.  Did I want to say if you don’t want them then I’ll take them?  Yes I sure as hell did.

If you are looking for something that will make your panties soaked, make you wish that it was you in the scenes, then Weekend Surrender needs to be on the top of your must read list.  Lori King has a new fan, and I think she will have a ton more once you check out this series.

The strength of a man is in the way he embraces his flaws, instead of denying them.

The Keegan brothers finally come together after spreading themselves across the globe for more than a decade. Each fighting his own personal battle with the past and future, but there is no question that Zoey turns them all on. Who will risk the pain of baring their soul for the promise of a happy future, and who will succumb to their weaknesses?

Return to Stone River, Texas, where the Keegan brothers work together to win the heart of the woman made for them. Enjoy the journey as Zoey decides if she can be their…Flawless Surrender.

Warning: For Mature Adult Audiences. Contains language and actions some may deem offensive. Sexually explicit content. M/F/M/M, graphic language, consensual BDSM, spanking, HEA. There is 'No' touching or titillation between siblings.\

Remember that P.S.A I posted in the review for Weekend Surrender?  Well times that by ten because if that one would soak your panties, Flawless Surrender is like a fire hydrant opened up full blast between your legs.

This time we have the Keegan brothers and they are even hotter than the Brooks brothers when things finally get all together.  We have a rancher, a doctor and an actor. Each in their own way are smoking hot but when things all come together the fire department should be on hand because the intensity of these guys in their pursuit of Zoey is extremely flammable.

Zoey hasn’t had a great life growing up and she thought that finally things would be looking up but when she finds out things aren’t going to go like she planned she ends up staying with the Keegan brothers.  Her past with Tanner Keegan has made her not want to go to him for help, but when she has no choice things aren’t smooth sailing and you wonder if this two will ever be able to work out the issues that are making it hard on them.

I’ll admit, it has been a while since a ménage series has really drawn me in and made me this hooked like the Surrender Series has.  I don’t want to put the books down once I start and for a mother of two small children that’s not a good thing because the little people in my life need my attention but it was hard to not be selfish and just keep reading when I needed to stop.  So once again I will say to add this to your TBR lists because I think if you are looking for a sexy read, you will love this one.

 Excerpt
Why don’t you go get off your feet until dinner. I need to go shower real quick. Dalton did you call Ulysses about getting Devonshire’s shoe replaced?” Just like that the moment was broken as Tanner and Dalton discussed a horse that had thrown a shoe that day. Clint gave her a wink, but he went back to working on the food prep, leaving her to do as she was told and head into the living room. She sunk into the butter soft leather of the sofa, sighing with pleasure as she put the flower on the end table next to her, and took a sip of wine. Flavors exploded on her tongue, and the mellow scent of berry filled her nose. There was nothing of interest on T.V. so she stopped it on a music station, tapping her foot as Jason Derulo sang about “The Other Side.” Her eyes drifted shut, and she let herself be swallowed up in the lyrics of the song and the uplifting dance beat. She wondered if she could handle a fling with one of the three Keegan brothers. It wasn’t like she would be here forever, in a couple of weeks Rachel’s mom would go back to Oklahoma, and Zoey would be able to move in there if she hadn’t found her own place yet. Living on the Triple T she didn’t have any rent to pay so she should be able to save up the money for a deposit pretty quickly. What if until then, she let herself be seduced by Clint, or even Dalton? There was no way she would offer herself up to any of them after being turned down so flatly by Tanner and then Dalton, but if she just flirted back a bit, maybe… A sudden sinking of the sofa cushion next to her, made her jump and her eyes flew open to find Clint settling in beside her. “Whoa, sorry angel. I didn’t mean to scare you. I seem to have a particular talent for that.” His arm went around the back of the couch just like Dalton’s always seemed to do when he sat with her. “It’s alright, I guess I was lost in thought and didn’t hear you come in.” She reached for the remote and turned the volume down on the T.V. as Christina Aquilera started singing “Your Body.” “That’s a good song.” Clint said, stealing the remote from her hand to turn it up just as she sang about finishing off on her own. What a fitting song for the thoughts she had been having a moment ago. “You know, I got to meet her once.” “Who?” “Christina. I guess meet isn’t quite the right word. I got to park her car once when I was working as a valet.” Zoey laughed out loud, and Clint’s eyes widened. “You have got to do that more often. You’re beautiful when you laugh.” A snort slipped out and she shook her head. “And you are a Grade A flirt.” “Grade A, huh? You really think so? I’d rather be a Grade A prime piece of meat in your eyes, I think.” He wiggled his eyebrows sending Zoey into another round of giggles. She whacked his shoulder with the back of her hand, and he grabbed it in both of his, holding it over his heart. “You’re breaking my heart, angel. And here I thought we were going to get married and have a dozen kids together.” “A dozen? You have to be joking? I can’t have a dozen kids, I would swell up to the size of a house!” She teased, and he tugged on her hand pulling her against his chest. “Perfect, as long as you’re mine I don’t care how big you are.” Clint swooped in for a kiss before she could respond, and she melted against him. Tomato sauce and man was all she tasted as his tongue swept past the barrier of her lips and stroked over her own. One of his hands slipped from between them to cup the back of her head, holding her in place for his mastery, and she lost herself in him. Someone moaned, and then whimpered, and she was startled to realize it was her. Her hands flexed against his chest, fisting into the fabric of his t-shirt, and kneading the muscles of his pecks as she kissed him back. A sharp slap on her raised ass broke them apart, and she turned to glare at Dalton, still breathing hard. “What the hell?” “Save a little sugar for me, pretty lady. Clint here has to go check his masterpiece. The timer just went off.” Dalton looked way too pleased to have come upon her making out with his little brother, and she couldn’t decide if she was irritated or if she wanted to kiss him so that she could compare the two again. Her lips tingled, and her pussy clenched when Clint brushed a sweet kiss over her mouth and then swaggered into the kitchen leaving her alone with Dalton. She turned a hard look on his grinning face. “You enjoyed that.” He gave her an innocent look, “What? The interrupting part, or the part where I got to watch from the doorway as you tried to swallow Clint’s tongue down your throat?” Face flaming, Zoey glared at him with all of the intensity she could muster. It might have helped if he was wrong. “You know a gentleman wouldn’t point those things out.” Dalton’s laugh boomed through the room, and she fought to keep a straight face, “Whatever gave you the idea that I was a gentleman, pretty lady?”

  Chapter One of Weekend Surrender

Chapter One

Rachel slammed the closet door behind her as she emerged dressed in her sexiest, country cutie clothes. Her stonewashed blue denim miniskirt barely covered the bottom curves of her ass cheeks. It was paired with a man’s red and blue plaid dress shirt, and the shirttails were tied just under her perky B-cup breasts. She left the buttons open so her tits were clearly visible rising out of the top of her blood-red satin pushup bra. Her tanned midsection was completely bare except for the crystal belly ring that dangled in her belly button. From the back she knew the view would be of the half dollar size daisy tattoo she had gotten when she turned eighteen, just above the top of her black belt. The hand-tooled leather was clasped between her hips bones, with a large belt buckle in the shape of a star. On her feet were a pair of black cowboy boots with silver embellishments, and her long, slim legs were bare. She was dressed to kill with every intention of causing a few heart attacks tonight. Her chestnut brown hair hung down to the middle of her back in large wavy curls, and she ran her fingers through it carelessly as she walked. Her makeup was applied with precision so her oversized chocolate brown eyes were nearly as prominent as her blood-red lips. She had always hated the fullness of her lips, but men seemed to love them. Mitch always called them dick sucking lips. She hated Mitch now. Mitch deserved Connie Sanders. The bleach blonde tramp had been trying to sink her claws into Mitchell Edwards for more than six months, and she had finally gotten her way. Well screw them both. If plastic boobs, and a spray-on tan was what Mitch got off on, then he deserved Connie. Rachel was going to go out and find a man to fuck her heartbreak away. She wanted raw, dirty, raunchy sex. Not the soft, gentle missionary sex Mitch seemed to favor. She wanted to be shoved against a wall, or held down by her wrists as a large muscular man devoured her completely. That’s why she created this plan. It was a Friday night, and that meant a packed house at Robin’s, the local bar that Rachel had waited tables at through college. She had met Mitch there, and he would no doubt be there tonight playing darts with his cronies, while Connie giggled and preened over a watered down margarita. So in order to prove to the world that Rachel Lia Morgan was completely and utterly over her ex-boyfriend, she was going on the prowl on his turf. There were usually dozens of hot men at Robin’s on the weekends. All of the local ranchers and ranch hands from the outskirts of Stone River usually hit the bar on Friday night looking for some action. Never before had Rachel considered indulging in a one-night stand, but tonight was her night. She spritzed a little bit of her favorite perfume on her throat, and then grabbed her small purse. On her way out the door she noticed her cell phone was blinking with a missed message. She climbed into her silver Ford F150 as she hit the play message button. “Rach, I know you don’t want to talk to me, but I want to apologize. I didn’t mean for you to find out about Connie like that…Rach? Please call me so we can talk this out. You can’t just throw two years out the window. I made a mistake, damn it—” The voice clicked off as she hit the delete button, and dropped her phone back into her purse. Mitch could beg and plead all he wanted, but she had already made her peace with their breakup. She wasn’t interested in his excuses anymore. She turned the volume up on her truck radio, so Miranda Lambert’s tune “Mama’s Broken Heart” blared out the windows into the night, and headed toward her freedom. The bar’s parking lot was packed with work trucks. With exception of only a handful of cars that probably belonged to the female patrons of the bar. Rachel backed her truck into a small parking stall at the back edge of the lot, right next to a black Dodge Ram Quad Cab that looked like it had rolled off the lot and onto the ranch just a few hours ago. Realizing she had parked rather close to the truck, she carefully opened her door, and slipped out into the small space. A large masculine hand covered hers, where it rested on the top edge of her truck door, and she gasped. “Sunshine, if you nick my new truck with your door, I’m going to have to spank that cute little ass raw.” The voice in her ear sent a shiver over her skin, and she flushed at his words. She turned her head to see who was behind her that would have any right to speak to her like that, and she nearly groaned out loud when her brown eyes met those of Parker Brooks. Parker Brooks was one of the four Brooks brothers who owned Brooks Pastures-a local cattle ranch. The four brothers shared two things in common, their love of ranching, and their smoking hot good looks. Dark hair, dark eyes, long lean muscular cowboy bodies, all tucked up under a cowboy hat. It made Rachel’s blood sing just thinking about the four of them. Holding her breath she dropped her gaze from his dark eyes down to his sexy mouth, and she felt her own tongue dart out to wet her lips unconsciously. His raised eyebrow told her that he noticed, and she shook her head slightly to clear her lust fogged brain. “I’m sorry, Parker. I did park a little close there, but no worries, I was careful,” she said with a smile she hoped would distract him from the increase in her breathing, and the rise and fall of her breasts. It clearly didn’t work, because his eyes shifted from her lips directly down the front of her shirt, and then they dragged lower. His gaze drifted from her golden colored abs, down to her booted feet, and then he reached out and tugged her hand free of the truck door. Surprised, she followed his lead when he turned her around so her back was to him again. A long, low whistle had goose bumps forming on her arms, but the finger stroking over her tattoo in the small of her back was what had her creaming her panties. “Holy shit, sunshine. Who let you out of the house dressed like that?” he asked in a gravelly rough voice that nearly knocked Rachel’s knees out from underneath her. The meaning of his question sunk in, and her irritation overcame her libido. “Last I looked in the mirror I was a grown woman, cowboy. I don’t need anyone’s permission or approval of my wardrobe.” Parker let her go when she tugged her hand out of his. She slammed her truck door and started to move out from between the two vehicles. “You might be grown up, but wearing a skirt like that is asking for trouble.” She paused and looked back over her shoulder. “Maybe that’s exactly what I wanted,” she said with a shrug of her shoulders. His slow, sexy smile made her mouth go dry, and she swallowed hard. “If you want trouble, little girl, all you need to do is ask.” Trying to cover up her nerves at his deliberately seductive invitation, she snorted out a laugh, “If I decide I want your kind of trouble, I won’t need to ask.” Tossing her hair back over her shoulder, she headed for the door of the bar. Before she could pull it open, a large hand reached around her for the door handle, and another equally large hand settled on her hip. Whipping her head violently, ready to give Parker Brooks a piece of her mind, she froze in place when it was his brother, Hudson’s face only inches from hers. “Hey, honey,” he said with a quick smile, and a wink, “Let me get the door for you.” “Thanks, Hudson,” she responded, sighing with relief that that was all he said. She wanted a wild fling, but the Brooks brothers were out of her league for multiple reasons. They were all at least ten years older than her twenty-four years, and they were all wickedly sexy men. The rumors around town were the four brothers shared their women, and right at this moment, looking into Hudson’s heated cocoa-colored gaze, she would have believed it. She had an inkling he had heard her interaction with Parker, but she wasn’t going to tempt fate by asking. Instead she tipped her chin up and turned back to the door, only to realize that it wasn’t Hudson’s hand on her. Sawyer Brooks stood on her other side with his hand resting lightly on the curve of her hip, and the rest of his body leaning nonchalantly against the door jam. “Rachel,” he said softly, and her pulse took off racing. Okay, the idea of having a sexy one-night stand had merit, but now that she was surrounded by large muscular men, she wasn’t so sure she could go through with the reality. “No need to rush off. How are you tonight?” Blinking in surprise, she answered automatically in a snotty tone, “I’m fan-fuckin-tastic, Sawyer, thank you for asking.” His eyes darkened with irritation, and his lip curled up in a grimace. “Don’t use language like that, you’re a lady, and ladies shouldn’t curse.” Rachel couldn’t help it. She burst into a roar of laughter. Not giggles, or chuckles, but large loud belly laughs. “Are you kidding me? Sawyer Brooks, I have seen you compete in the local rodeo, and heard the nastiness that spews from those luscious lips. Do you really think you can tell me not to curse?” Sawyer focused in on the one phrase from her whole little speech that he liked, “Luscious lips, huh?” Those sexy lips curved up into an equally sinful smile that had her pussy tightening, and her thighs clenching. She forced herself to roll her eyes, even as a blush covered her cheeks. “Whatever. I’m going inside to get a drink, dance a little, and maybe play some pool. Excuse me, gentlemen.” She reached again for the door handle, only to have a new set of hands settle on her shoulders and tug her backwards until she stumbled. Instead of falling on her ass though, her plump butt cheeks settled against the rough denim of a man’s Levi’s, and a heavy arm banded under her ribs holding her upright. “Apologize, Rachel, you were rude to Sawyer, and he was just trying to teach you a few manners,” Parker’s voice rumbled against her ear, and she bit her tongue hard to swallow her moan of lust. “No. Let me go, Parker, this isn’t funny,” she ground out, and she began to struggle to get out of Parker’s strong grip. “Stop it. You’ll end up hurting yourself. Now, Sawyer and Hudson deserve a sincere apology, and then I want an explanation as to what you’re doing at Robin’s dressed like a two bit hooker on fight night?” Ice coated his words, and she stilled in his arms. A wave of hurt and embarrassment went through her. Did she really look so bad? She had put on the clothes that made her feel the sexiest. “I apologize if I’ve offended anyone, but I have plans inside the bar that include a bottle of tequila, and a few spins around the dance floor. You are currently delaying my plans. I have no intention of prostituting myself, because I’ve never in my life felt the need to ask a man for sex. I’m dressed in clothing I picked out, and like. I don’t personally give a damn if you approve or not, Mr. Brooks.” She focused all of her anger on her words, and when he finally released her she sighed heavily, “Thank you. Have a lovely evening, gentlemen.” Hudson tugged the door open, and Sawyer stepped back from the doorway allowing her to saunter past him. Once she was safely in the bar, she let out a heavy, shaky breath and made her way across the room directly into the bathroom to settle her nerves. It might take more than a drink or two to wipe the Brooks brothers from her fantasies tonight.

Blog Tour: Freed (Unlovable #2) by Lynetta Halat

Freed Blog Tour Banner

Freed.

Freed from the past and lies that were told.

Freed from perceptions one has for themselves.

Freed to love.

Freed to be loved.

Freed to be happy.

Freed to explore the meaning of forgiveness.

Denver is still working on the view of herself but this time Ransom isn’t going to allow her to put herself down ever again.  She is also working through the emotions and the feelings of loss when it comes to Greer, what they had, what he did and what could have been.  Add to the mix the sexy and dominant Ransom and Denver has to decide if she will allow herself to be freed to love the one man she has known all her life, love the one man who wants to help her find her true self or will she be freed to walk away from it all?

Ransom wants Denver for his own, he sees her true worth and wants to show her not only what she means to him but what she should mean to herself.  He wants Denver to be his and he wants to be hers.  You see Ransom in a new light when you really get to see who he is.

Greer, he knows he betrayed Denver, he knows how much he hurt her.  He also knows that he has to work on himself as well as earn back Denver’s trust and friendship.
Freed picks up where Used left us hanging.  Now if you all read my review for Used you know how bad I could not wait for Freed to hurry up and get here.  So the big question is, was it worth the wait…hell yes it was.  I loved it!  Watching not only Denver free herself from her past but to watch the relationship between her and Ransom get hotter and hotter to the point that I almost exploded from the sexual tension was well worth the wait.  Good lord that boy is sexy as sin and he knows how to make you on edge with anticipation.  I at one point was like holy shit I did not see that one coming at all but thinking back it so makes sense.  What?  You want to know what I am talking about don’t you?  Well…I am not going to tell you just have to read Freed and find out for yourself, did you honestly believe I would give it away like that?  But seriously though, I love how Greer isn’t just made out to be this huge asshole who deserves his ass beat over and over again, that he too deserves to be free from the sins of the past if forgiveness by Denver can be granted.

Lynetta Halat quickly has become one of my go to authors, I know when I get my hands on one of her books I am going to feel a variety of emotions, curse her out numerous times while attempting to not throw my Kindle and I will keep coming back because that’s the type of emotions that authors should pull from their readers.  And in my opinion, Ms. Halat is becoming the mistress of rollercoaster ride of emotion books and this reader can’t wait to ride the ride once more when book 3 in this series comes out.

EXCERPT
I grin and offer her a fresh bottle of water, which she accepts, unscrews the cap and takes a sip. Fuck, she has beautiful lips. Lips that look amazing wrapped around the head of my cock. “It’s not a crime to belong to a gym,” I reply. “My gym?” “Do you own it?” I ask with a grin. She laughs and shakes her head. “No.” “It’s not far from my apartment, and it’s convenient to work, too, so here I am.” She nods and glances down, not sure what to say next. “The cake was delicious today,” I comment casually, giving her the opportunity to talk about her work. “Oh, good!” She grins and joins me as I walk toward the smoothie bar, pull out a chair for her to drop into at one of the tiny two-person tables and sit opposite her. “I’m glad you enjoyed it.” “You do good work. Leo and Sam are always talking about your cupcakes.” “Leo and Sam keep me in business, I swear.” She laughs, sending electricity down my spine. “They’re very good customers.” I nod, watching her. “I like your shorter hair,” I murmur and reach out to brush the ends with my finger, enjoying the softness. “Most men like long hair,” she replies softly. “I like long hair, too. You look beautiful in both.” She frowns and glances away from me. “Why did you cut your hair, Nic?” She shrugs and won’t meet my gaze. “It was time for a change.” “Try again,” I reply. She turns her eyes to mine and squares her shoulders, firms her chin. “It was time for a change.” That’s a lie. I cross my arms over my naked chest and drag my finger over my lip, watching her squirm. She isn’t a good liar. Good. “Okay.” She sighs, relieved, before I continue. “For now.” She scowls at me, making me laugh. “Friends don’t lie to each other, little one. The sooner you remember that, the better.” “You’ve known me for three minutes, Matt. Don’t assume you know all there is to know about me.” “You know what they say about assuming,” I murmur with a grin. “Well, you are an ass,” she replies and then giggles. I lean in and rest my mouth next to her ear. “This ass would love to smack your pretty little ass until it glows,” I whisper so only
she can hear.

Review: Tied with Me (With Me in Seattle #6) by Kristen Proby

Nic Dalton likes control. She’s a single hardworking woman who owns her own flourishing business. She has put her all into making it what it is today and has no room for failure. Same goes for her personal life. After facing a medical issue, she now maintains a tight control on her diet and exercise regimen. But when her friend takes her to a social event out of her comfort zone, Nic is anything but in control…

Matt Montgomery is a protector. He is devoted to his family and loyal to his city. He’s one of Seattle’s finest. And he is all about control; especially in the bedroom. He is a master in his craft.

Matt meets Nic at an erotic festival. Something about him demands her attention from the moment she sees him. It doesn’t take long before he takes her home and shows her what letting go of her control can feel like. Their first union is hot and passionate; one of her best ever. However, when it’s done he gets called away and hurries out before getting her number. It’s for the best, she thinks. She doesn’t really do his brand of control anyway, even though it was the hottest thing she’s ever experienced and secretly loved every minute of it.

Oh holy smoking hell! Kristen Proby has delivered the goods once again!

Matt, *sigh*, where do I even begin. How can I do that man justice? As with all the men in the With Me in Seattle series, Matt is devoted and loving. He may be into kink, but he loves and respects how Nic challenges him…outside of the bedroom. Inside the bedroom is his domain. I have to say his brand of kink was a refreshing read. He’s a master at Shibari, a form of bondage. That man can make a tie out of just about anything. But when he brings his ropes out to play, it takes on an art form. It’s intricate and beautiful. Arousing.

“I want to show you what I can do with my ropes tonight, little one.”

Nic is this strong, independent woman. For her it’s intimidating relinquishing control like she does. But a relationship with Matt is worth entering uncharted waters. She may fight it at times and not fully understand it, but she does enjoy it.

I was rooting for this couple. They are a perfect fit. My heart ached for them when they came to a challenging part in their relationship. Nic was willing to walk away from it all because she felt Matt deserved more. She couldn’t see that she was all he ever wanted and the rest could be worked out. Matt, however, isn’t that easy to get rid of. And he stakes a claim to what’s his.

“You are mine. I stayed away like I promised I would, but I’m done, Nic.”

Tied With Me gave me a full menu of emotions. I cried. I laughed. I melted. Seriously Kristen Proby cannot write a bad book. I love how all her characters (sure the males are deliciously hot and model worthy but hey it’s a romance book people) are all real. She writes realistic situations. Even better, in every book we get a view of this family she’s created. We see them grow and develop.

I know with every installment in this series, we creep closer to the end of it. I for one will be a bawling mess when it does come to an end. This series has truly touched my heart. But until that day comes, I will hug my Kindle and patiently await the next one.

Review: Training Their Mate by Vella Day

Liz was on a personal mission to kill the man who tormented and raped her mother over and over again throughout the years.  What Liz didn’t know about the man was that he was a werewolf and that he can’t just be killed.  When she is attacked and is rescued by the hot and sexy Trax she doesn’t know that there is more to the intense sexual heat she feels every time they get close.  Add in Dante, Trax’s brother, and the heat turns into a raging inferno.  Liz is unaware that Trax and Dante are werewolves as well, but they are the good guys and that she is their mate.  When she finds out how will she react, will she accept the two men that she has quickly fallen in love with, or will she turn her back and walk away?

Training Their Mate is the first book in the Pack Wars series.  I am a huge fan of paranormal books, especially shifter books and I feel that this was a good start to the series.  The sex scenes are smoking hot, especially when Trax and Dante take Liz into their play room.  Trax is the Dom, while Dante is more laid back but still likes some control.  I loved Dante’s character as well as Trax’s need for everything to be controlled.  Liz, at first I wasn’t so sure of, but she warmed up to me the more I read.

This is pretty short, longer than a Novella but shorter than a true Novel.  I would love to see the future books in this series expanded a little more so that we can get more from these hot as hell wolves.  I am curious to see how this series will play out and want to read more in the future.

Review: The Stark Trilogy: Release Me and Claim Me by J. Kenner

Today I'm reviewing two books in the Stark Trilogy by J. Kenner. The first one Release Me was published January 1, 2013. The second one Claim Me was released April 23, 2013. The final installment is Complete Me and is scheduled to be released July 30, 2013. So, get ready for hot romance with a dreamy leading man!

Let's begin, shall we?

Review: Release Me

OMFG! OMFG!

This is one amazing story. Unfortunately it will be compared to Fifty Shades of Grey and while there are a couple of similarities, it is NOT a retelling of that story! It’s its own unique story, full of passion, tension, and heart wrenching moments.

Damien Stark is a former tennis pro who now runs his own multi-million dollar business conglomerate. He’s a control freak in every part of his life. Nikki is a former beauty pageant winner who is fresh to LA and looking to make her mark. She wants to do it on her own and away from her mother.

The tension between them is fierce and wonderful. It’s not just sexual tension but emotional tension as well. They both have secrets and they’re afraid those secrets will drive the other one away. They both crave intimacy with each other, emotional intimacy, but they’re scared.

Damien introduces Nikki to wonderful decadence and the finer things in life. She lets him spoil her and takes it all in stride. She does all this without being a gold-digger or out to get all she can from him. It’s part of who he is and accepts it as that. He’s edgy and dark and controlling. Nikki is no stranger to edgy and dark, maybe not in the traditional manner, but she’s no stranger to pain, fear and loss of control. The loss of control she has with Damien intrigues her and scares her at the same time.

Some secrets were revealed in Release Me. Others are yet to come. There has to be a second story with Nikki and Damien. We don’t have all the secrets and there are hints of more scandal to come. While there’s no big cliffhanger at the end, you are left wondering. What else is there?

J. Kenner does an amazing job of grabbing you in the very beginning and not letting you go. At one point in the story I did get frustrated with Ollie, Nikki’s friend, and Damien, my interest never wavered. I devoured this book in one day! I could NOT put it down.

It’s a wonderfully emotional and tension filled story that will leave you wanting more!

Review: Claim Me

Claim Me is the second story in the Stark Trilogy. It picks up right where Release Me left off.  While Claim Me picks right up where Release Me left off, J. Kenner does an amazing job of summarizing what happened in Release Me. It’s done in a way that isn’t overbearing to the current story and it doesn’t take up much of the story in Claim Me. It was just enough to refresh my memory!

Damien and Nikki’s story is a wonderful story about accepting people for who they are and not what you want them to be. It shows how two people, who are very flawed can let their scars hang out there and those who love them will accept them as they are. Build them up. Make them stronger. Be someone to lean on.

We learn so many things about Damien in this story. His history is not pretty. It’s brutal and makes you wonder how anyone could survive that and turn out partially normal. Nikki learns that she’s really quite strong. Where she thought she was weak, was actually strength. Damien brings that out in her.

One of the greatest things about this book is Damien. He’s a master with words. He could build an erotic scene and ratchet the tension up using only his words. He didn’t have to  lay a hand on Nikki to get her (and me) all hot and bothered. His words were enough. I could imagine his voice. Like smooth whiskey going down. Mmmmm………

HOT HOT HOT!!

Another great aspect of this story is how their relationship continued. It was refreshing to see a couple continue to learn and explore each other without breaking up and running from each other at every turn. When there were problems, they got mad, argued, gave each other space and moved on. It was nice to see a couple deal with issues instead of running at the first sign of problems.

Now, my big problem….Ollie. That man needs to get a reality check. He’s trying to protect Nikki, but he’s doing it all wrong. He’s going about it in the wrong way. He loves her. We get that. But Nikkie will never love him the way he loves her. Not only that, he’s just continuing to drive a wedge between him and Nikki. It’s actually quite sad to watch.

We’re left with a bit of a cliffhanger. There are some problems that Damien must face. I can’t tell you what they are, as that would give away the big secret. But let me just say, it’s no small matter.  We’re left with some unresolved issues for Damien, but luckily Nikki is the perfect woman for Damien and she makes sure he knows it!

Now, we just need the third installment and we’re good.  Bring it on J. Kenner! I’m ready!
