EXCERPT
I grin and offer her a fresh bottle of water, which she accepts, unscrews the cap and takes a sip. Fuck, she has beautiful lips. Lips that look amazing wrapped around the head of my cock. “It’s not a crime to belong to a gym,” I reply. “My gym?” “Do you own it?” I ask with a grin. She laughs and shakes her head. “No.” “It’s not far from my apartment, and it’s convenient to work, too, so here I am.” She nods and glances down, not sure what to say next. “The cake was delicious today,” I comment casually, giving her the opportunity to talk about her work. “Oh, good!” She grins and joins me as I walk toward the smoothie bar, pull out a chair for her to drop into at one of the tiny two-person tables and sit opposite her. “I’m glad you enjoyed it.” “You do good work. Leo and Sam are always talking about your cupcakes.” “Leo and Sam keep me in business, I swear.” She laughs, sending electricity down my spine. “They’re very good customers.” I nod, watching her. “I like your shorter hair,” I murmur and reach out to brush the ends with my finger, enjoying the softness. “Most men like long hair,” she replies softly. “I like long hair, too. You look beautiful in both.” She frowns and glances away from me. “Why did you cut your hair, Nic?” She shrugs and won’t meet my gaze. “It was time for a change.” “Try again,” I reply. She turns her eyes to mine and squares her shoulders, firms her chin. “It was time for a change.” That’s a lie. I cross my arms over my naked chest and drag my finger over my lip, watching her squirm. She isn’t a good liar. Good. “Okay.” She sighs, relieved, before I continue. “For now.” She scowls at me, making me laugh. “Friends don’t lie to each other, little one. The sooner you remember that, the better.” “You’ve known me for three minutes, Matt. Don’t assume you know all there is to know about me.” “You know what they say about assuming,” I murmur with a grin. “Well, you are an ass,” she replies and then giggles. I lean in and rest my mouth next to her ear. “This ass would love to smack your pretty little ass until it glows,” I whisper so only
she can hear.

Review: Tied with Me (With Me in Seattle #6) by Kristen Proby

Nic Dalton likes control. She’s a single hardworking woman who owns her own flourishing business. She has put her all into making it what it is today and has no room for failure. Same goes for her personal life. After facing a medical issue, she now maintains a tight control on her diet and exercise regimen. But when her friend takes her to a social event out of her comfort zone, Nic is anything but in control…

Matt Montgomery is a protector. He is devoted to his family and loyal to his city. He’s one of Seattle’s finest. And he is all about control; especially in the bedroom. He is a master in his craft.

Matt meets Nic at an erotic festival. Something about him demands her attention from the moment she sees him. It doesn’t take long before he takes her home and shows her what letting go of her control can feel like. Their first union is hot and passionate; one of her best ever. However, when it’s done he gets called away and hurries out before getting her number. It’s for the best, she thinks. She doesn’t really do his brand of control anyway, even though it was the hottest thing she’s ever experienced and secretly loved every minute of it.

Oh holy smoking hell! Kristen Proby has delivered the goods once again!

Matt, *sigh*, where do I even begin. How can I do that man justice? As with all the men in the With Me in Seattle series, Matt is devoted and loving. He may be into kink, but he loves and respects how Nic challenges him…outside of the bedroom. Inside the bedroom is his domain. I have to say his brand of kink was a refreshing read. He’s a master at Shibari, a form of bondage. That man can make a tie out of just about anything. But when he brings his ropes out to play, it takes on an art form. It’s intricate and beautiful. Arousing.

“I want to show you what I can do with my ropes tonight, little one.”

Nic is this strong, independent woman. For her it’s intimidating relinquishing control like she does. But a relationship with Matt is worth entering uncharted waters. She may fight it at times and not fully understand it, but she does enjoy it.

I was rooting for this couple. They are a perfect fit. My heart ached for them when they came to a challenging part in their relationship. Nic was willing to walk away from it all because she felt Matt deserved more. She couldn’t see that she was all he ever wanted and the rest could be worked out. Matt, however, isn’t that easy to get rid of. And he stakes a claim to what’s his.

“You are mine. I stayed away like I promised I would, but I’m done, Nic.”

Tied With Me gave me a full menu of emotions. I cried. I laughed. I melted. Seriously Kristen Proby cannot write a bad book. I love how all her characters (sure the males are deliciously hot and model worthy but hey it’s a romance book people) are all real. She writes realistic situations. Even better, in every book we get a view of this family she’s created. We see them grow and develop.

I know with every installment in this series, we creep closer to the end of it. I for one will be a bawling mess when it does come to an end. This series has truly touched my heart. But until that day comes, I will hug my Kindle and patiently await the next one.

Blog Tour, Guest Post & Giveaway: Safe With Me (With Me in Seattle #5) by Kristen Proby

Okay, so I’ve only been waiting for this story for the past few books.  No big, right.  Pfft.  I’m a patient girl.  NOT!!!  I’ve been dying for Brynna’s story since Under the Mistletoe With Me.  Brynna Vincent is on the run from some kind of dangerous threat.  Matt and Caleb Montgomery have been working to keep her and her twin daughters safe.  During the course of the series we have seen something brewing between Brynna and Caleb.  Finally, FINALLY, we get their story.

Light up the fireworks.  Shoot off the confetti canons.  Safe With Me has arrived!

The Queen of Swoon has done it again!  Caleb Montgomery, as like most men in this series, is H-O-T!  He’s a badass ex Navy Seal.  He’s a Montgomery.  Need I really say more?  Yes, yes I must because there is so much more to Caleb than his physical attributes and his DNA.  He’s a protector.  A hero.  And sadly, he’s a bit damaged.  His last mission left him with deep, emotional wounds; demons that he can’t escape.  Over the past year of watching over Brynna and her girls, they have been carving their way into his heart.  He’s grown attached to them and vice versa.  Unfortunately, he thinks he’s undeserving of them and this way of thinking leads him to making the biggest mistake he’ll ever make.  A mistake that not only results in heartache, but one that may cost Brynna and her daughters their life.

Brynna Vincent has my upmost respect.  She’s a mom who, regardless of being married at one time to her girls’ dad, was basically already living a single mom life.  Her ex-husband was married to his job.  He let that take precedence over his family.  It’s sad that he never really bothered to get to know his girls; they are the sweetest little things.  Brynna is so strong.  Over the years she’s had to endure a lot.  Now with danger on her trail and Caleb protecting her, her life isn’t the only thing at risk.  Caleb is the first man since her ex to pique her interest.  She wants him.  She knows he feels it too.  So why not get together?  Why does he keep fighting what’s between them?  She swore to herself she wouldn’t beg for a man’s affections ever again.  If he turns his back on her, that’s it, they’re done.

Oh, Ms. Proby had my stomach in knots with this one.  Safe With Me had me reaching for a tissue one minute and in the next I’m reaching for Tums.  It was the perfect amount of angst, heat, and emotion.  And if the turmoil between Caleb and Brynna wasn’t enough, she dropped a major bombshell on us that left me speechless.  From a writing standpoint, I’d say it was brilliant.  The one thing I have continued to say about this series is that Kristen Proby writes like real life.  Real life continues, evolves and at times aches.  She showed us just how real the Montgomerys are.  They are not as perfect as they seem.  There’s a crack in the façade.  But like true Montgomery fashion, above all else is love.  What doesn’t kill us, makes us stronger, right?

Now that I’ve inhaled this one, I shall “patiently” wait for the next installment.
