will feel the warm and fuzzies, because that’s just what her stories do to me.
They’re a feel good read with delicious, loving men and strong, equally lovable
women. She creates not just single characters, but whole families, and makes
you feel like you’re right there with them in the middle of the hijinks,
laughter, and above all, love.
Easy Melody is Declan and Callie’s
story. Declan, I knew, is a gentle, sweet-talking, easy going guy, and a talented
musician playing in bars around New Orleans (think Harry Connick Jr sexy times
two). What I didn’t know, and completely loved, was his naughty side. It took
me by complete surprise. And oh my God, that man in the bedroom should be
illegal, well not really, but wow. Okay, aside from the sexy, I had no idea he
was a do-it-yourselfer. He’s in the middle of renovating his home, a
plantation-style house in the Garden District. His home improvement skills, and
his project at hand, completely appeal to our heroine.
…I flip her over and slap her ass, and with her up in the air, I bury my face in her again…
Callie is back home in New Orleans
after her father passes away. She had no intentions of making her return
permanent, but when she loses her job in Denver, she stays and tries to breathe
new life into her father’s old bar. Being a hands on girl herself, she dives
into her own renovation project and makes The Odyssey something truly amazing.
And knowing a good thing when she sees it, she asks Declan to make his
performances there a regular weekly thing.
Declan has always been straight
forward when it comes to women. He’s a love them and leave them type. But
Callie’s sharp wit and beauty throw him for a loop. He’s met his match. What happens, however, when you cross a man, who’s never really been in a relationship
before, with a woman, who beneath her strength, fears abandonment? You get an

Hey My Secret Romancers, I recently got to visit the Big Easy and spend
some time with the very delicious and talented Declan Boudreaux. It was a very
quick trip and my first time in New Orleans, so of course I asked to meet him
at none other than Café Amelie. And yes, Joe the waiter was every bit as sexy
as the ladies have described, but sadly I think he may have been upstaged by
the Brussels sprouts. Mmm…sautéed in butter and mixed with bacon and dates,
completely drool worthy. Okay, on to the interview. Enjoy!
A deep chuckle knocks the sense into
me and I smile sheepishly at my companion.
Me: Um…sorry. I was drooling again,
wasn’t I? You don’t know how long I’ve waited to try these. Kristen has made
them sound so enticing.
Dec: I’m not a huge Brussels sprout
fan, but these are delicious.
Me: Music. It comes so naturally to
you. Playing. Writing. Where do you find your inspiration?
Dec: I don’t find it, it seems to
find me. And I don’t mean to sound dumb, but I don’t really know where it comes
from. No one else in my family is particularly musically inclined, but all I’ve
known my whole life is music.
Me: Who were some of your favorite
musicians growing up?
Dec: Johnny Cash, Miles Davis, Harry
Connick, Jr., Patsy Cline. The list is endless.
Me: Any must listen to artists or
songs now?
Dec: I’m fond of Adele, Five Seconds
to Mars, and again, the list is endless.
Me: Is there a special piece you’re
working on at the moment? Say…for a certain feisty blonde in your life.
Dec: Callie inspires just about
everything I do these days.
Me: Okay, one last question. Callie.
She’s a pistol and from the start, I think you met your match. How long before
you realized that?
Dec: I knew it right away. It was
like being shot point-blank. There is no one else like Callie.
