What a marvelous trip
to Ireland I just had. I came to realize, I need to get myself a true Irishman.
Maybe somebody like Connal Savage. Huge. Gorgeous. With dreadlocks. Yummy.
“Becoming Red” is a
brilliant creation from the pen of two promising authors who not only have
managed to create a fascinating world within our world, but mix ancient Irish
and Nordic mythology with a phenomenal twist of paranormal.
Ashling DeMorgan
arrives in Dublin, not knowing much about her ancestors, broken by her past and
traumatized about the horrible death of her mother. Because of her grandmother
(who I’m still thinking had foreseen the facts) she meets her destiny in the
form of a drop dead gorgeous specimen of a man named Connal Savage. Well, you
can say he’s a man, but Connal keeps a great secret which not only will change
Ashling’s life as she knows it, but will also unleash a wild past full of
revenge, ancient gods, action, betrayal, power and love beyond anything
comprehensible in this realm.
Since one of my
greatest dreams in life has been to travel to the UK and go to Ireland, this
story fell in my hands like God sent. I felt myself taken into the city of
Dublin and meeting along with Ashling, the race of Formorians, which you can somehow
compare to were shifters, but with a powerful and overpowering mating instinct
during full moon. AND WHAT AN INSTINCT! All the steamy scenes you can expect
from a romance like this are delivered with such a delicate yet scorching taste
from the authors that honestly leave you breathless: Ashling and Connal give a
whole new meaning to the phrase MATING LIKE ANIMALS.
I think the pair of
Ash and Connal are one of the most lovable couples in paranormal romance I’ve
ever encountered. The endearments such as Big Bad and Little Red are waaaaayyyy
too sweet. In addition, though a little bumpy at the beginning; their
relationship becomes more and more solid and the challenges presented just
prove to the reader that they are indeed meant to be together. No questions.
Also, the overall development of characters is not to overwhelming that it
makes you forget names. You will meet a pack of Formorians ready to attack
whenever the full moon allows them to, and somehow though you know these are
the bad guys, you will actually find them quite intriguing. I know I want to
learn more about all of them!
The best thing about
this book (though many will disagree maybe) is the absolutely
fan-freakin’-tastic CLIFFHANGER, that will MAKE you want to read Becoming Bad,
ASAP.
In overall this was
one of those unexpected book treats that I really wish I could have more often.

ABOUT THE AUTHOR:
The writing duo of Jess and Paula met online through their
mutual love of paranormal and urban fantasy romance. They sparked creatively
and have been writing together for the past three years. Paula lives in Dublin,
Ireland with her family. She set aside a career in medicine to raise her three
children. Jess lives in Manchester, England with her mother and dog, Simi. When
she isn’t writing up worlds with Paula, she’s a wedding planner for a large
retail store.
