Blog Tour, Author Interview,Review and Giveaway: Love Square

Excerpt:

As I sit back down in the chair, my eyes catch on the next person in line and my breath freezes in my chest. I think my heart is going to explode out of my chest. It is Jacob Matthews. There is no doubt about it. Time has certainly been his friend and he looks even more beautiful than he did sixteen years before. He was my first real love and my first real heart break.

His dark hair is a little long, giving him a bed head look that totally works on him. He appears more fit than he had been as a teenager, muscles rippled under his tight t-shirt. His green eyes sparkle just as I remembered. He is six foot, three inches of pure sex appeal and still has gorgeous man hands.

I could do this right? Sure. Yes. Totally. I wasn’t going to freak out in front of all these people and lose it just because Jacob freaking Matthews was waiting to see me. Nope. Not me!

As he walks up to the table, all eyes are on him. He has such grace in the way that he moves. He is a man who is comfortable in his own skin and owns whatever room he is in. His smile widens and I suddenly feel like a shy sixteen year old seeing him for the first time. There is a definite thrill running through by body at the thought of seeing him again. I can’t help but give him a small smile of my own.

“I can’t believe it’s really you, sweet Sam Monroe. When my sister, Emma, told me about your book and that you’d be here today, I have to admit I was skeptical that it was really you.” His cheeks flush a little and it appears as though he’s nervous.

“Well, it’s technically Sam Parker now. How have you been? It’s had to be at least sixteen years, right?” I respond coolly and mentally high-five myself for appearing so calm.

“Oh wow! Parker, huh? Guess you’re married now...” He clears his throat and continues, “Of course you’re married now. You’re even more beautiful than you were back then. Listen, I don’t want to hold up the line too much, but are you going to be around for a while? I’d love to grab a drink and catch up.”

He hands me the book he’s holding and tells me to make it out to Emma. I had never actually met his sister but I know they were close. She was away in college when we dated but he spoke of her constantly.

Here was the moment of truth. Do I go for drinks with him and satisfy my curiosity about what he’s been up to or do I politely decline? Ugh, I hate decisions sometimes. Well I guess no harm could come from meeting with him. It was just a drink in a public place. He doesn’t have the power to hurt me anymore. I look up and into those green eyes and the decision is made – I am going to go and to hell with the consequences.

“I’ll be finished around seven o’clock if you want to get together then. I’m staying in the hotel across the street tonight and they have a pub there,” I respond while signing his book. I look up at him through my eyelashes and smile. His fingers brush mine as he takes the book from me. It feels like static shock running up my arms from the contact.

“Sounds great! I’ll see you then!” He confirms before gifting me with his gorgeous smile.

As he walks away I can’t help but stare at his nice, tight ass. Boy does he fill out those jeans nicely! Some things haven’t changed, that was for sure.

The rest of the book signing flew by. I tried to be attentive to my fans but it was so hard when I kept getting sucked into the vortex of my mind. Different scenarios played out in my head of how our conversation would go. Seeing Jacob again brought back a rush of memories from when we were younger. The first time I saw him, I was immediately taken with how beautiful he was and couldn’t wait to get to know him better. Now here I am years later… taken with his beauty and wondering how I can get to know him better. I feel like a shy, young, naïve girl all over again.

Review:

A love triangle gone bad...

He was the one guy I couldn't get enough of. One look from him would make me melt. He was the one I always wanted to love me, but always seemed so far away. Now he stands before me and he's turning my world upside down.

At one time I would have done anything to be close to him. But will that anything include betraying the man I pledged myself to and that loves me faithfully?

Samantha Monroe had it all. Or at least everyone thought she did. A career on the rise, a gorgeous husband, great friends and a beautiful home. So why does she feel so alone and empty? When she reconnects with an old flame, lines are tested and compromises made in a quest for happiness.

Jacob Matthews always wondered what happened to Sam Monroe. When fate brings them together after all these years, he can't help but wonder if it's meant to be. But when he meets his perfect woman, there is no doubt in his mind she's his soul mate.

Will the search for happiness cost them everything or will their love square show them what really matters?
Samantha was lonely, feeling a huge distance in the relationship with her husband, Aiden, and wanted to be happy again.  When Jacob comes back into the picture after such a long time she knows that starting up anything with him would be wrong; she is a married woman after all.  After yet another brush off by her husband, that was all she needed to begin her affair with Jacob, and let me tell you they are smoking hot together.  The sex between them is burn up the sheets smoking hot, and they have a LOT of sex.  The wall that she built up to guard her heart, because he broke it years ago, gets a wrecking ball to it and it comes crumbling to the ground.  Her husband is still in the picture though making this a love triangle that can explode at a moment’s notice.
Jacob wants more from Samantha but knows that he can’t have it right now and says he accepts that.  Then of course what does he do?  He screws up and he does it big time.  I honestly believe that his feelings for Samantha are true but like any typical male he thought with the little head not the big one or even with his heart.  This love triangle between Samantha, Aiden and Jacob turns into a square and things will never be the same again.  Samantha gets her heart broken again, and proves the theory that you never ever can under estimate a woman scorned.  (Personally I loved that part)  Now I am not saying that Samantha was in the right here, she did cheat after all on her husband, but I think Jacob was the one who screwed up the worst.
I loved this book.  The cheating didn’t bother me so much because, let’s face it people, it does happen more than we all know or want to know.  When a relationship goes south things will happen.  I am not advocating cheating here, trust me because I do believe that it is wrong, but in a way I can see what made Samantha do what she did.  In the end I loved Aiden’s character as well (I won’t give up spoilers here but let’s just say he did the right thing).  Love Square is an example of what can happen when two people who love each other drift apart and allow that distance to grow instead of finding ways to build bridges to come back together.  I am excited to read book 2 which will be from Jacob’s POV and can’t wait for it to be released.  Jessica Ingo has a winner in my opinion and I recommend this book to be added to your TBR piles ASAP.

Hey everyone Janna here, today we are talking to Jessica Ingro.  First off let me say Happy Birthday!  I hope you are having a great day.  Jessica Ingro is the author of Love Square, a book I just devoured and couldn’t put down.  Thanks for talking with me today.

Janna:  Tell us a little about yourself and about Love Square.
Jessica:  Hi Janna! Thanks for having me! I’m excited to be spending my birthday with you guys!

About me… Let’s see… I spend my days as a security analyst for an IT company in Upstate NY. When I’m not working there or writing, I LOVE to read. I’m a total book junkie! I read 378 books in 2012! And that doesn’t include the ones I read more than once. It’s an obsession. My husband says my Nook was the best and the worst gift he ever got me!

Love Square is the story of a woman who is unhappy with her life. She feels like she doesn’t know who she is anymore. She’s hit a rough patch with her husband and finds herself doing what she always said she wouldn’t, having an affair. I think a lot of people focus on the affair, but it’s really her journey into finding herself. I think a lot of women can identify with Sam at one point or another. That’s why I dedicated the book to all the women out there trying to find themselves. I’m not ashamed to admit that at one point, I felt like Sam did. I had to find a way to make myself happy and to make my life what I wanted it to be. Over time, people change and you need to find a way to make your relationship grow and evolve with you.

Janna:  What inspired you to write Love Square?
Jessica:  I’d been toying with the idea for a while. I had these characters buzzing around in my brain, but I was always intimidated by putting my thoughts down on paper and having people read them. After watching a television interview with Colleen Hoover, I thought to myself, “Why not me?” She was just so inspiring. That night I sat down and outlined Love Square. I knew I owed it to myself to at least try. If I failed, so what? Even if I only touch one person, I know I’ve done more than many others have.

Janna: Is this part of a series, or do you plan to write any series books?

Jessica:  Love Square was supposed to be a standalone, but Jacob wouldn’t leave me alone when all was said and done. So I’m writing another book from his perspective right now. I think readers will be surprised to see what’s going on in that boy’s head. I also think they’ll be stunned by everything that went on that you didn’t see.

Janna:  What scenes were the easiest for you to write and which were the hardest?
Jessica:  My favorite scenes to write were the bitchy ones… like when Sam gets revenge on Brooke. I totally lived vicariously through her in that aspect. I think the hardest ones to write were the sex scenes. It’s a delicate balance to make sure you aren’t being too repetitive and that everything is going where it’s supposed to. ;)

Janna:  Who or what inspired the story?
Jessica:  I’m not sure anyone inspired the story. It was something that had just been playing out in my head for a while. Maybe some of it stemmed from my own personal journey and epiphany. Otherwise it’s a complete work of fiction.

Janna:  Who is your favorite author?
Jessica:  That’s a toss-up between Kristen Ashley and Lorelei James. It’s really hard for me to choose between the two.

Janna:  What is your favorite book or series?
Jessica:  My favorite book of all time is Gone With the Wind. Rhett Butler is my original book boyfriend!

Do you like to cook?  Do you have a favorite food?

I’m not a huge fan of cooking. I prefer to be waited on. I’m horrible with decisions so I don’t really have a favorite food, but if forced to choose… I guess I’d say Chicken Cordon Bleu.
Thank you for the Interview Jessica, I can’t wait to read more from you in the future!
