Blog Tour: Freed (Unlovable #2) by Lynetta Halat

Freed Blog Tour Banner

Freed.

Freed from the past and lies that were told.

Freed from perceptions one has for themselves.

Freed to love.

Freed to be loved.

Freed to be happy.

Freed to explore the meaning of forgiveness.

Denver is still working on the view of herself but this time Ransom isn’t going to allow her to put herself down ever again.  She is also working through the emotions and the feelings of loss when it comes to Greer, what they had, what he did and what could have been.  Add to the mix the sexy and dominant Ransom and Denver has to decide if she will allow herself to be freed to love the one man she has known all her life, love the one man who wants to help her find her true self or will she be freed to walk away from it all?

Ransom wants Denver for his own, he sees her true worth and wants to show her not only what she means to him but what she should mean to herself.  He wants Denver to be his and he wants to be hers.  You see Ransom in a new light when you really get to see who he is.

Greer, he knows he betrayed Denver, he knows how much he hurt her.  He also knows that he has to work on himself as well as earn back Denver’s trust and friendship.
Freed picks up where Used left us hanging.  Now if you all read my review for Used you know how bad I could not wait for Freed to hurry up and get here.  So the big question is, was it worth the wait…hell yes it was.  I loved it!  Watching not only Denver free herself from her past but to watch the relationship between her and Ransom get hotter and hotter to the point that I almost exploded from the sexual tension was well worth the wait.  Good lord that boy is sexy as sin and he knows how to make you on edge with anticipation.  I at one point was like holy shit I did not see that one coming at all but thinking back it so makes sense.  What?  You want to know what I am talking about don’t you?  Well…I am not going to tell you just have to read Freed and find out for yourself, did you honestly believe I would give it away like that?  But seriously though, I love how Greer isn’t just made out to be this huge asshole who deserves his ass beat over and over again, that he too deserves to be free from the sins of the past if forgiveness by Denver can be granted.

Lynetta Halat quickly has become one of my go to authors, I know when I get my hands on one of her books I am going to feel a variety of emotions, curse her out numerous times while attempting to not throw my Kindle and I will keep coming back because that’s the type of emotions that authors should pull from their readers.  And in my opinion, Ms. Halat is becoming the mistress of rollercoaster ride of emotion books and this reader can’t wait to ride the ride once more when book 3 in this series comes out.

Cover Reveal and Giveaway: Freed by Lynetta Halat

Truth. Pain. Freedom.

An awakening like no other.

When life is determined to buck you off, dig in and ride hard.

The bull. The most dangerous lies are the ones we tell ourselves. To survive, I have to face the truth. Easier said than done when it’s not all black and white. There’s the in-between, and this murky void is where I always tend to land.

The horns. Lies don’t always hurt. My lies protected me, but when they are exposed and I can no longer outrun the many shades of truth, I’ll be in for one hell of a reckoning.

The ride. From the outside, my life looks like one big adventure after another. But, there is no freedom in anarchy, and that’s the way I’ve lived my life. Until now. Until Ransom.

Denver Dempsey was a slut for oblivion. Now, she’s a slut for love. And it’s that kind of thinking that got her in trouble in the first place. Ransom awakens Denver in ways she never imagined, but when her true feelings send her reeling, will they catapult her into the arms of Greer—her ex best-friend-with-benefits? After never loving anyone, herself included, she now loves two. One kept her alive. One teaches her how to live. If they didn’t both love her … if hearts weren’t bound to be broken, it would be the stuff dreams are made of.

Will Denver remain locked up in the bullpen, or is she strong enough to open the chute and be freed?

Excerpt
Bending down in front of me, Ransom taps one foot so that I’ll raise it. He slides one leg of my panties on and then the other before pulling them up to rest just below my skirt. Fixing me with his stare, he grasps my thighs and presses his nose and mouth to my center. My back arches from the wall, but my hands stay where he placed them. “Fuck, you smell good. Good enough to eat, but that can’t happen tonight.”
I whimper low in my throat as he runs his nose and open mouth over the apex of my thighs, placing open-mouthed kisses right where I need him most. My eyelids flutter and close, only to pop back open when he commands, “Eyes on me.” He places a light kiss right over my swollen, begging center. My whole body convulses.
“Nuh, uh,” he chastises, enjoying himself entirely too much. Hooking his fingers in my panties again, he draws them up over my thighs and under my skirt. His calloused fingertips scratch my soft skin even though his touch is gentle. Once he has them in place, he runs his fingertips down the triangle of the fabric ever so slowly, stopping before he reaches my need. Goose bumps make quick work of my body. “I’m addicted to how responsive you are to my touch,” he whispers, planting a hard kiss there this time. A desperate moan wrenches itself from my throat. “And I haven’t even really touched you or tasted you yet. Can you imagine how good we’re going to be together, Denver?”
Swallowing hard, I manage a nod ‘cause that’s rhetorical, right? Ransom slides his hands from under my skirt and skims them up my body to fit his hands around my jaw. He plants a quick kiss on my ear before sucking the lobe into his mouth and nipping at it. “Remember what I said,” he whispers. “No touching yourself. Your orgasms are mine. And when you deserve them, I’ll be the one to give them to you.” I whimper again. “If it helps, I can’t fucking wait, and when I’m stroking myself tonight, it’ll be with your soft moans in my ear, your incredible scent surrounding me, and your delectable body that I’m imagining losing myself in.”
I groan because no, that doesn’t help at all, actually. I bite down on voicing my frustration because I know it’ll get me nowhere with this man.

Blog Review Tour & Giveaway: Used (Unlovable #1) by Lynetta Halat

Pageflex Persona [document: PRS0000039_00001]

USED_FrontCover_Final_Web
Denver is a barrel racer, a college student, and a slut if you listen to what people say about her.  She deserves her reputation because it’s in her blood to be this way.  She doesn’t deny who she is.  She isn’t worthy of love.  Everything that has happened to her is her fault right? The one person who doesn’t hold it against her is her best friend Greer, he is also in love with Denver and wants to make their relationship work.  Is Denver willing to give them a chance this time?

Greer is a calf roper and grew up with Denver.  They have been best friends since they were babies.  He would do anything for her, even if it means that he can’t have her the way he wants.  He is willing to start fresh now that they are away from home and at the same college together.

Ransom is the champion bull rider of their team.  He is your typical man whore, but when he meets Denver there is something that makes him want to change his ways.  Ransom at first didn’t know of the rumors that surrounds Denver but when he learns of them will he care or will he think that she is the slut she claims to be.

Love. Hate. Friendship. Rumors. Lies. Betrayal.

The perception of yourself and what others see you as is a powerful thing.  It can make you feel beautiful, smart, funny or sexy if it is a positive perception.  It can make you feel ugly, stupid, or even make you think that you are a slut and unworthy of love if it is a negative perception.  It can mold you and change who you are if you believe it.

Denver really believes that she is a slut, she even makes you want to believe it yourself.  According to her, being a slut or a whore is in her DNA especially if you look at her mom.  The only things that she is proud of is her standing as a barrel racer, she is in the number 1 spot and she isn’t arrogant about it, she is just that damn good.  She tries to stay strong and not let the rumors and catty comments that surround her get to her, but once a secret is revealed, one that is so painful she is no longer able to just keep it all inside.  Add to that a betrayal like no other and Denver can no longer keep all that pain inside.  I really felt for Denver, no one deserves what she has gone through in her life.

Greer is Denver’s Golden Boy.  He was been her best friend, the one person she could count on through thick and thin.  He is hot, sexy, protective of Denver and wants her to finally be his.  They have had more than a friendship for years and he was fine with that but now he wants more.  You can tell how much he wants her and loves her.  He lets her use him for sex, friendship anything she wants.  Then he does the unthinkable and makes me want to beat the shit out of him.  I don’t know if he is redeemable at this point, we will have to wait and see.

Ransom, he is the bad boy.  The man whore.  The bull rider.  The one that is under Denver’s skin and at first wants Denver too.  Then he is an asshole to her, judging her, treating her like shit, but yet he can’t stop thinking about her.  He doesn’t want to want her, he will begin to think the rumors about Denver aren’t true but then something will happen to make him believe again.  Yet he doesn’t actually talk to Denver about them, he just judges her like everyone else.  When he is there for Denver after the betrayal that breaks her, he won me over.  There is more to Ransom than meets the eye.  He can be an asshole, but let’s face it what man isn’t an asshole at some point, but he isn’t an asshole.  I want Ransom to be the one for Denver.

Holy fucking shit, this book will piss you off something fierce at times.  I wanted to sit Denver down and make her see that what she thought of herself isn’t true.  I was calling Greer and Ransom as many variations of an asshole that I could think of and wanted to throw my kindle against the wall.  Do the words mind fuck mean anything to you?  Remember the whole perception thing?  Well, everything isn’t what it seems.  Then to make you even more pissed off, it ends in a cliff hanger!  Yes you read that right so of course that started a whole new cursing rant to begin, but you what, I don’t even really mind that it is a cliffhanger.  I just want more of Denver, Greer and Ransom.  I. Want. Them. Right. Now. Damn. It.  I was sucked in from the start and I don’t know if I can wait long for the next book to be released.  I am a huge fan of Lynetta Halat, but damn it if I don’t want to yell at her and say why woman why would you leave us hanging like this?  It is that feeling right there, the feeling that if you don’t get the next book right away, that makes this a must read because you are sucked in and want to see how this messed up love triangle will work out.  Used is one that fans of Lynetta Halat will love and must read.

Cover Reveal & Giveaway: Used (Unlovable #1) by Lynetta Halat

I am a slut. No worries. I've come to terms with it, and you will too. I’m not one of those girls who thinks she’s too plain, too fat, too skinny, too shy … no, I don’t have that kind of luck. I’m the girl who knows she’s just right for everyone. — Denver

A reputation as a manwhore–with–a–heart–of–gold tends to precede me. But, I don’t do girls with issues, that is until this girl. It's this girl I want to fix. This girl I want to protect. And maybe … more. — Ransom

Being in love with the same girl your entire life isn't all it's cracked up to be. She uses me in every way imaginable. How does she see me? I am her perpetual one-night stand. No strings, no attachments. Just mind-numbing sex ... for her anyway. — Greer

Feeling like the life is being choked out of her in the small town of Anaconda, Montana, Denver Dempsey craves the escape that college offers …even if that means leaving her “best friend with benefits” and looking for a new way to forget. Thinking she's found the perfect hookup in Ransom, Denver's outlook on college is bright. That is, until Greer shows up looking for a second chance, and Ransom's interest turns to hatred.

Love. Hate. Triangle.

Who's using who?

EXCERPT
 Meet Denver
“She’s, at best, a fuck buddy. However, I prefer the term ‘whore.’ Fuck buddy is far too nice a term for her,” a catty voice cracks from behind me.
I take a deep breath and look up at the ceiling, saying a little prayer that maybe the venomous voice isn’t referring to me. I thought I’d left all that behind in Anaconda. We’d been here for all of three days, so it’s highly probable they’re not talking about me, right?  Looking back down, I continue pouring Jack in my Solo cup, surpassing the line that is recommended for liquor.
“Yeah, so apparently, she’s got some serious issues and doesn’t ‘do’ relationships. So, she puts out for her guy friends whose girls are too good to give it up. That’s her idea of a relationship.”
“Really? That’s kinda gross,” I hear the other girl mutter.
Sonofabitch! I groan. Yep, they’re talking about me. I splash a little Coke in my cup and stick my finger in it to stir it around a little. I feel tears spring to my eyes and berate myself for still having feelings and giving a shit what people think about me. Years of dealing with this crap should have made me immune, but I’d really hoped college would be different. And how the hell do they even know about that shit? Strengthening my spine, I turn and give them a beguiling smile, which causes them both to blanch. Yeah, bitches, you’ve no idea who you’re dealing with.
“Ladies,” I say with a quirked eyebrow. Removing my finger from the drink, I place it in my mouth and suck off the excess. With a pop, I release it. “I see my reputation precedes me. Well, let me just reassure you that I’m very good at what I do. When you won’t give it up for your guy, he’ll be looking me up, and I’ll be more than happy to take care of him. No questions. No strings. Just lots of meaningless … hot … sex.” I peer around them with a searching look. “Are they here? Your boyfriends?” I look back at them innocently. I almost snort at their mutual expressions of surprise and disdain. “Or,” I continue, “are the sticks up your asses enough so that you don’t need a man?” Both of their mouths drop on that line. Yep, gets ‘em every time. “Oh, no judgment here,” I vow. “I totally get not wanting to be tied down to any one Dick … or Tom … or Harry.”
