Review Tour: Snow Boy (X-Treme Boys Series #5) by Kay Manis

Title: Snow Boy
Series: X-Treme Boys #5
Author: Kay Manis
Genre: Sports Romance

Geneva Barton was a bitch—until the threat of criminal charges forced her to confront the demons from her past. Two years later she’s worked hard to overcome her vindictive ways. Everyone has given her a second chance. But does she deserve it?

Maybe a gorgeous stranger on a tropical island, 4,000 miles from home will help her find out.

After suffering heart-breaking loss, Berk Rigby has left his career as a professional snowboarder and returned to his native island home in Kauai, Hawaii. The last thing he deserves is absolution. But when a beautiful guest at his family’s resort forces him to confront his past, he’s suddenly thinking about a future again. A future with her. But does he deserve it?

A chance encounter.
A leap of faith.
A vacation that will last a lifetime.

Hawaii. Warm sand beneath your feet. Waves crashing on the shore. Paradise to many. For Berk, Hawaii is his temporary home, his solace in a time of pain. A place to hide from his past.

For Geneva, Hawaii is just a vacation spot to celebrate a friend's nuptials. Seven days of sun, sand, family and friends. A family that has grown to mean so much to her.

Both Berk and Geneva have painfully dark pasts they'd like to forget. They both hide their demons from each other. With Geneva's days on the island numbered, they figure their union will be nothing more than a quick romp. But among the heat and the lust, real feelings develop, on both their parts. And as Geneva's departure date looms nearer, the urgency to spend time together grips them stronger. Then Berk's past catches up with his present. An unexpected, and somewhat unwelcome, visitor arrives on the island disrupting the connection between Berk and Geneva. And quite possibly severing it completely.

Snow Boy was a lot of fun! Kay Manis has a creative use of words that had me laughing at some points, then the next moment things got so steamy my glasses could have fogged up. I have to point out we do meet Geneva prior to this book. And well, I never thought that I would ever root for her, but I did! For me, Geneva has been completely redeemed. She tries so hard to separate herself from who she was and the damage she did. Her family has forgiven her past wrongs and loves her tremendously. Now it's up to her to forgive herself.

Berk, sweet, hot, damaged Berk, made my heart hurt for him. Three years have passed since his world changed. We still don't know his full story, but we know enough. He's secluded himself from the world. Once a pro snow boarder, he now works at his family's resort. He doesn't speak about the circumstances that brought him there to anyone. His family knows and they've all allowed him the time to heal. But it took an unknowing, sassy blonde to reach the parts of him that he thought were sealed for good.

My gosh! When Berk and Geneva come together it's nothing short of smoking hotness. Those two in bed...or in a shower...or on a surfboard...or...or...or...yeah...s-i-z-z-l-e! Crank the AC up when you dive into this one. Sadly though, all good things must come to an end. And seriously the ending Kay Manis left us with opened a pit in my stomach and had my heart in my throat. I cannot wait for Geneva and Berk's conclusion in My Snow Boy.

Review Tour: Snow Boy By Kay Manis

I’ll be honest when I saw that this book was about Geneva, I wasn’t sure if I wanted to see if I could love her after what she did in Skater Boy and My Skater Boy.  I admit I hold grudges against fictional characters, yep I sure do.  Is it the most mature thing to do? Not even close but hey I am who I am and I am not ashamed of it.  And while most readers would have forgiven her after Moto Boy and My Moto Boy I wanted to see for myself if she was worthy of my forgiveness.
Now without giving anything away because I hope you all will go read all of these books if you haven’t yet; I can say that unless she does something to anger me in the next book, My Snow Boy, Geneva has earned not only my forgiveness but my love as well.  Oh I guess I should explain what I meant by that last statement.  Each couple has two books, so Geneva and Berk’s story will be completed in My Snow Boy which comes out in a couple of months, so not a very long wait, and if my impatient ass can handle that then I think all of you will as well.

What I love most about this series is that it is about X-Treme sports, I love seeing the X-Games on T.V. so I knew when I started this series that I would quickly become a fan.  Plus there are very few if any books about these sports and I love reading a new twist in the sports genre.  Added bonus is that these guys are sexy as hell and have you wishing you were their significant other because these guys know how to heat up the sheets.

Make sure you have read the previous books before starting Snow Boy because not only will you understand Geneva’s past and my previous hatred of her but also because the previous couples make appearances in the book.  Kay Manis I am impatiently patiently waiting for My Snow Boy so I can see the conclusion of this story.
