Blog Tour Review & Giveaway: Beautiful Broken Mess (Broken #2) by Kimberly Lauren

Beautiful Broken Mess Blog Tour Banner

Wow!  I was absolutely wowed by Beautiful Broken Mess.  This book had me in tears and dreading the ending only for the fact that that meant the story was done.  I could happily continue reading on about Jace and Audrey.  This is a beautiful story about a couple finally connecting after so many misconceptions and trying to get it right this time.

Jace has always been and continues to be the one for her and vice versa.  Unfortunately, a horrible misunderstanding ends them before they even have the chance to begin.  Years pass with neither one of them straying far from the other’s thoughts.  But too much damage and not enough communication has been done.  It takes a third party to set things on track for them.  But, sadly once again, lack of communication can be their downfall.

I have to applaud Kimberly Lauren.  When I first met Audrey in Beautiful Broken Rules, book 1 of the Broken series, I thought she was a catty piece of work and wondered what was up with her and Jax’s brother, Jace.  I couldn’t have been more wrong.  Ms. Lauren, you made me completely connect and feel for a character that I previously ruled out.  I was hooked and sucked into Audrey’s story from the first page.  By the second paragraph my previous opinions of her completely changed.  Audrey’s actions were so misunderstood in book one.  Thank you so much for delivering a remarkable character.  After all the horrific hardships Audrey has faced, she could have turned into the bitter, spiteful person I formerly thought her to be.  Really, after learning her history I wouldn’t blame her.  Growing up, life continuously and literally knocked her down.  But she held on to hope and persevered.  The end result is a strong, beautiful person inside and out.  The only weakness that remains is Jace.

Jace.  Oh Jace!  Let me just take a moment here and let my mind linger on Jace…hang on…bare with me…okay, I think I can continue now.  What I completely loved about Jace is he knows who he is.  He is confident, caring, protective, observant and yep controlling, but it’s the good kind of controlling.  His only flaw is that while he is confident in who he is and what he wants, he cares too damn much about what others think.  Had he not tried to spare other’s feelings and been up front with them from the beginning, certain things could have been avoided.  But at the same time if he did all that where would the story be?  Jace needed to make the mistakes he made.  Only then did he have a clear view of his actions and feelings.

I can’t end this review without bringing up the secondary characters.  I completely love when an author brings back previous players and shows us how life is continuing for them.  Jax and Emerson are going strong.  Jax plays a big part in a pretty vital story arc in this book that only makes him and Em stronger as a couple.  Quinn and Cole’s bond also strengthens by the end of this book.  I can’t say more than that without giving something away.  We meet Lane.  His book is next in the series and I can’t freaking wait.  I absolutely loved him.  He is this take charge, protective, tell it like it is guy.  He becomes a surrogate big brother to Audrey.  I know there is a serious story to be told about his history.  I can’t wait to get to know him in the lover category too.  And please, Ms. Lauren, please if you happen to read this, can we please get a Max book too?  Or a Max novella?  Shoot, I’d even settle for some inspiration pictures used for Max.  ;)

Alright, go read Beautiful Broken Rules if you haven’t yet. Then dive into Beautiful Broken Mess.  Afterwards, you can join me in anxiously awaiting Lane’s story in Beautiful Broken Promises

About Kimberly Lauren
I'm a wanderer, an adventurer, a traveler. I want to see it all. I haven't been everywhere but it's on my list. "She travels the world & home is always in her heart." Lately if I'm not traveling or chasing a toddler, I'm writing. Which is weird because I hated writing in college. Oh wait, that's because that was boring. Who really wants to sit there and cite all your sources into APA format? Not this girl. Writing for yourself is enjoyable and cathartic. Please try it. Then tell me about because I love indie authors. When I was 19, I packed up and followed my high school sweetheart from Texas to California. We had a blast living it up in San Diego. Four years later we made a crazy decision and packed up again and moved to Germany. What? Yep, you read that right. Guess what? Best decision ever! We OWNED Europe. For three years we saw as much as we possibly could. We lived an hour outside of France, a couple from Switzerland and Italy. Most amazing time of my life. Please go out there and see the world, you won't regret it. After Europe we moved back to California, and for now we're just debating our next adventure. I earned a degree in Child Development. And now I write novels. Makes perfect sense! I write because I walk around all day with these stories in my head. It's nice to be able to get them out of my head in an organized fashion. I hope that someone out there enjoys them, because I have enjoyed so many others'.

Blog Tour & Giveaway: Beautiful Broken Rules by Kimberly Lauren

Emerson, Em, Moore does not do relationships.  Ever.  After suffering a tragic loss she keeps people at a distance.  Only a few are allowed into her walls.  She lives by three simple rules: 1. She does not sleep with friend's boyfriends or exes, 2. She does not sleep with married men and 3. She does not sleep with the same guy more than three times.  Living by these rules has deemed her the school slut and she has accepted that title.  It's who she is and she has no plans to change; until Jaxon that is.

Jaxon Riley is new in town and he's tearing down Emerson's walls and annihilating rule number 3 with his southern charm and sexy as sin good looks.  He gets under her skin and invades her mind.  For the first time she wants things she's always steered clear of.  Question is will she find the courage to go after it or chance losing the best thing to come into her life?

Oh. My. God!  I freaking loved Jaxon! He's sexy smooth and so flipping intense.  He accepts Emerson for her past and is so protective of her.  He's also patient with her; which is exactly what she needs.  He can calm her like no one else can.  These two belong together.  It's heart wrenching to me when they're separated.

I hope there's a book 2 to come because did I mention Jaxon has a twin?  Oh yeah there's TWO incredibly hot Riley brothers.

Add this one to your TBRs.
