Release Blitz: Sacrifice By Adriana Locke

My life changed forever the night my husband died.

I was left with a shattered heart, a heap of bills, and our daughter, EVERLEIGH. I don’t want to rely on anyone, least of all CREW GENTRY. He’s my first love and the man who almost destroyed me, the man who has let me down every time I’ve needed him.

But when tragedy strikes a second time, Crew just might be my only hope.

My life changed forever the night my brother died.

I was left with a guilty conscience, a pile of mistakes, and little else. I take care of JULIA GENTRY, my brother’s widow and the love of my life, and their daughter. I know she doesn’t want my help, but she gets it anyway. I owe her that. When another disaster hits, I’m given the opportunity to make things right. I’m taking it. I'm willing to sacrifice it all.

There aren’t too many books that I have read that actually leave me truly struggling for words, in a good way of course, when typing up a review.  There are sometimes that this does happen, more often than not if it was a book that I didn’t like or one that disappointed, but when it is one that I truly enjoyed then that is something special in my eyes.  I could do my standard I loved this book you must drop everything else and read it right away review because when I say that I really do mean those words but for Sacrifice I wanted to try to do something more.  The problem is that I am having trouble finding out what words to express that “more” that would go beyond I loved it, read it, amazing and so forth. I also don’t want to give any spoilers away and I would be so tempted to just to help explain why it was so amazing.

Sacrifice is a book about emotional pain, struggling to survive, loss, forgiveness, second chances and love.  Be prepared to sacrifice any commitments you have while you are reading this book because you will be pulled in, enthralled, become an emotional mess, and basically live, breathe and sacrifice for Sacrifice.  I had to keep the tissues close by because I needed them and so will you.  If you are looking for a book that will do all the things I am still struggling to put into the perfect words then make sure you do get Sacrifice and start reading it right away because it is worth sacrificing any plans you may have to read it.

Excerpt

“She’s been missing him a lot lately.”

Julia’s voice is barely a whisper and my chest constricts. Our conversations don’t normally make it to discussing Gage unless we’re already arguing. The fact that she just brought it up shocks me and I’m not comfortable with it. I don’t know how to take it. I feel my jaw pulse with frustration and scramble to change the subject again. “Why is it so chilly in here?”

Her smile disappears and she tugs her sweatshirt nervously. “I didn’t know it was.”

“How can you possibly not know?” I start to the thermostat across the room when she clears her throat.

“The heater isn’t working right. I asked Lane to come by and look at it earlier this week.”

“And he hasn’t been here yet?” I shoot her a look and she shakes her head. “He’ll be here tonight.” I dig my cell outta my pocket.

“Crew, don’t. Please. The last time you called my landlord he was a complete jerk to me for a couple of months. I just got on good terms with him again.”

I scroll through my contacts list, looking for his name.

“Crew ...” I know her doe-eyes are pleading with me. I also know if I look up at her, I’ll be somewhat inclined to give in. So I don’t.

Promo Tour: Stop! By Alison G. Bailey

Every life has a different path full of sharp turns, smooth curves, and steep drop offs.

Hollis Murphy has a plan—college, career, boyfriend, love, marriage, family. A predictable, normal life. She’s on track until an outside force causes her to crash and burn. They call it an accident, because that’s the only word they know to explain what happens to her. It helps everyone move on with their lives, except for Hollis. She holds on to the belief that she’s been targeted for a reason.

Risher Stevenson is intelligent, caring, sweet, and the hottest boy Hollis has ever laid eyes on. He fits perfectly into her original plan for a normal life. Everyone loves him.

Benton Daniels is intelligent, caring, sweet, and the bravest boy Hollis has ever met. He doesn’t fit into her life but gives it purpose and makes it extraordinary. Everyone hates him.

One is bullied. One is tormented. All are judged. How will it STOP?
There is one thing that I have learned, that when I read a book by Ms. Bailey that I damn well better have boxes of tissues nearby because I already know that whatever she writes will be so emotional that an ugly cry will commence but it will also be beautiful.  Stop! didn’t disappoint and I needed those tissues more than once.

Without giving anything away Stop! is still on my mind days after reading it and I have a feeling it will be on my mind for a long while to come.  Stop! will have your heart breaking, your stomach in knots from the angst and twists, it will drain your emotions and have you in tears, it will leave you in such a mess that you wish Stop! would just stop.  If you are looking for a light happy read then Stop! is not for you, but if you are looking for a tear inducing, heart breaking, emotionally charged story then Stop! needs to be on your TBR lists immediately.  Awe damn I need the tissues again, so with that I will just say that its all those reasons why when I pick up a book from this author and even know that I will cry it will end up staying with me for a long time to come.
Excerpt
“Name?” she said, impatiently.
I was so flustered that for a second I’d forgotten who I was. “Hollis Murphy.”
She scribbled something on a spreadsheet and handed me a packet with my name and the number two hundred ten typed out on the front sticker, which I assumed was my room number.
In a flat bored voice, she said, “Everything you need to know is in the packet. Should you have any additional questions or needs after reading the information, please ask your RA. Have a productive semester. Next!”
Clutching the envelope to my chest, my gaze shifted back down, and I walked quickly out of the office.
As I turned the corner, a loud deep woot! jerked my attention down the hall. I took one step before crashing full force into something solid and warm. Stumbling back, I dropped the envelope. Once my balance returned, my eyes focused on a gray T-shirt with cut off sleeves, stretched across broad shoulders. When I glanced down in search of my envelope, I couldn’t help but spot the narrow hips and round ass covered in black basketball shorts. As I squatted to pick up the envelope, a tanned forearm came into view. My gaze roamed up to find the arm was covered in bulging muscles.
“Oh god, I’m so . . . sor…ry,” I stammered, my cheeks heating with embarrassment.
“Here ya go,” a deep voice said.
Reaching for the envelope, my gaze inadvertently shot up to the warmest green eyes ever created. His dark brown hair was cut short on the sides, longer on top, and tousled. The perfect amount of scuff peppered his strong jawline, with deep dimples framing a sexy lopsided smile. The air was immediately sucked from my lungs. He wasn’t just hot, he was boy band hot.
A deep chuckle drifted down before I realized he had stood up and was extending his hand to me.
Oh boy! I get to touch him.
I slipped my hand into his and felt an immediate jolt of electricity. The muscles in his arm twitched. He felt it too.
“Thank you,” I said, as he helped me up.
            “I’m Risher Stevenson.”
He was actually introducing himself to me.
It had become a habit not to look directly at anyone, especially a stranger. I automatically angled my head down and to the left, to hide the messed-up side of my face. But those green eyes locked me in place.
            “Hollis Murphy.”
“Nice to meet you Hollis Murphy.”
“Sorry again about running into you. I need to do a better job at watching where I’m going.”
The tip of his tongue slipped between his lips before they formed into a slight smirk. Just as he was about to speak, his name came barreling down the hallway.
“Rish! Get your ass down here. We’ve got a ton of boxes to haul in.” A blond-haired guy was standing at the end of the hall.
“I gotta go finish helping my friends move in.”
            I nodded.
Risher took three steps before turning back toward me. “Don’t do too good of a job.”
My eyebrows squished together in confusion.
“At watching where you’re going. I hate to think I won’t get rump bumped again.”
He winked before jogging away.
I Sasquatched those shoulders, those hips, and that ass all the way down the hall.

Release Blitz: Safe Distance By Megan Green

Haylee Jordan is no stranger to heartbreak. Growing up, she quickly learned to fend for herself, and after a hellish night in high school, she knows the only way to keep her heart safe is to keep everybody else out.

Ryan Porter considers himself married to the military. After losing his father and brother at a young age and witnessing the subsequent downfall of his mother, Ryan has sworn off any semblance of love.

After Ryan helps Haylee out of a sticky situation, the two find themselves growing closer, but with Ryan's impending deployment and Haylee's trust issues, they vow to never let it become something more.

However, Ryan quickly finds himself falling for Haylee, and Haylee is unable to deny that Ryan makes her happier than she's been in a long time. Will the two of them be able to overcome their pasts and open their hearts? Or will they always be determined to keep everyone at a safe distance?

Obviously I am a sucker when it comes to a military romance book.  My husband was in the military so sometimes I feel a strange connection to the characters and I always want to love these types of books because who doesn’t love a strong military hero who sweeps the heroine off her feet?

Safe Distance was a hard book for me to get into at first.  We all can guess that something happened to Haylee fairly quickly because of not just how she is with Ryan but with everyone in her life.  You feel sympathetic towards her but at the same time at least for me after a while she rubbed me wrong.  The way she would just freeze Ryan out made me like her character less to be honest.  Now don’t take me as being unsympathetic to what happened to make her the way she is, because I did cry for her and her past but eventually I just couldn’t care any more.

Ryan was deploying and just wanted a friend, it turned into more for him but even knowing he may lose her for wanting more he just wanted her friendship the most.  Maybe it is because I am a wife of a previous military member and know exactly the stresses and uncertainty they feel when preparing for a deployment that made me on Ryan’s side more, or maybe it was just because from the start Ryan held a place in my heart that I wanted more for him.  Was he always perfect?  No he wasn’t because at times he could be an asshole but there is a very emotional reason for it, and I wanted to beat the living hell out of Haylee for her adding to his pain at one point.

There are things that happen that will make you cry ugly tears, and trust me you will cry, but there are also moments that will make you laugh out loud.  Just know that Safe Distance will make you feel all sorts of emotions.  I don’t know if the author is going to make a series or not out of this because Ryan and Haylee’s ending is a HEA, but I would like to see other books with some of the secondary characters, one in particular who deserves a HEA of their own.

Review: Stealing Harper By Molly McAdams

This is Chase's POV from Taking Chances.

Chase Grayson has never been interested in having a relationship that lasts longer than it takes for him and his date to get dressed again. But then he stumbles into a gray-eyed girl whose innocence pours off her, and everything changes. From the minute Harper opens her mouth to let him know just how much he disgusts her, he's hooked.

But a princess deserves a Prince Charming who can make her dreams come true. Not a guy who can turn her life into a nightmare.

All good intentions go out the window when Harper starts to fall for the guy Chase has come to view as a brother. He wanted to protect her by keeping her away, but he can't stand to see her with anyone else, and he'll do anything to make her his. But when it comes down to Harper choosing between the two, will Chase have the strength to step back from the girl who has become his whole world if it means she's happy?

Lines will be crossed. Friendships will be put to the test. And hearts will be shattered.

CAUTION: DO NOT READ IF YOU HAVE NOT READ TAKING CHANCES
If you read my review of Taking Chances or hell even if you had any contact with me for about a week after reading it you know, you know how much that book DESTROYED me.  I cried for days, I cried while writing my review, I cried so much my eyes stayed red.  I cursed my book bestie Gabrielle for having me read the book while at the same time loving her for bullying me into reading it.   I wanted to send Molly McAdams a bill for therapy and tissues.  I wanted to have Chase for myself.

So I am sure you are all asking yourselves why in the hell did you read Stealing Harper Janna when you knew what would happen and how upset you were before.  I will tell you why.  I needed Chase’s POV, I needed to see inside his mind and heart to see if all the love I had for him in Taking Chances would be the same in Stealing Harper. I can safely say that no my love for Chase isn’t the same, it is more intense.  I love him even more after reading his POV.

Chase knew he had screwed up when he pushed Harper into Brandon’s life, but he never expected for it to destroy him as much as it did just seeing her with his best friend.  He fought the attraction, he tried to just be friends, but when you are so deeply in love with someone staying away isn’t always easy.  He broke my heart more than once because he just wanted Harper to take a chance on him so he could prove that she was his one and only once and for all.  When we read the events leading up to the end of the book, you feel the anxiety forming because you know what is about to happen and you can’t stop it no matter how hard you wish the words you are about to read weren’t true.  Awe hell I have tears in my eyes again just thinking about it.

Now I am taking a text that I had with my book bestie and this should kind of hint at what I feel for Harper, I wasn’t a huge fan of her in Taking Chances but in Stealing Harper she made me hate her for how much pain she put Chase through.  Okay so here is what I said “I want to do a combo vag kick throat punch bitch slap to Harper”.  Yep that basically sums up how I feel.

I have cried before with books, I am an emotional person so I feel harder than some people might.  Taking Chances and Stealing Harper are books I will never forget.  They will hold a special place in my heart because they made me feel so many emotions so deeply that they imprinted into my heart and soul.  I am looking forward to reading Trusting Liam because I just know that it will be just as amazing as the first two books.  Molly McAdams you have shredded my heart, caused me to go through boxes, yes boxes of tissues, and you have a way to make something that is so painful still be beautiful and moving to your readers.

Release Blitz: Henry's End By Julie Richman

Dreams.
I used to have them—before the nightmares started.
I dreamed of nice guys, love…normalcy.
Things like reading the Sunday paper in bed with my lover.

But who needs dreams when your reality is filled with a string of faceless dominating men in uniform? Men that pack a thick bulge and are only too happy to satisfy my deviant sexual cravings.

Me. That's who.

And then HE walked through the door and shared with me, a total stranger, his intimate dream of love. Damn him for verbalizing every single detail of the dream I buried long ago.

And now I don’t know how I'm going to live without that dream.
Or him.

I have been trying to decide what I wanted to write in my review of Henry’s End since I finished the book earlier today.  Even typing this I think I have written a few sentences then hit the delete key to start all over again.  Why am I having such a hard time with this review?  It is because I am confused about how I feel about the book.  Let me try to explain a little more.

Henry’s End is a very emotional book, especially for about the first 70%, because you not only get to meet Henry but you also go through some very extremely emotional, heart breaking, make you sick to your stomach, ugly cry moments.  All of those things make you want to wrap your arms around Henry and just hold him and never let him go.  I cried some massive ugly tears with this one so please make sure you have tissues ready, because you will need them.

I think my issue that kept me for absolutely loving Henry’s End was that in a way it was almost anticlimactic.  I am not going to give anything way but you just want more when you reach the end because there is a lot unsaid.  I wish that Ms. Richman would have made Henry’s End longer or even if she was writing a second book because Henry deserves it.  I do recommend Henry’s End for those who are looking for more than just a M/M read, but one that has a real feel, one that leaves you wanting more for a character after everything he has been through.

Excerpt #1:

Holding eye contact with the man, meeting the challenge head on, Henry didn’t flinch. He wanted him to know that he was aware that he was being watched. The energy between the two was sharp and direct. There was no mistaking that contact had been made, and Henry could feel his stomach cramping with excitement, and his balls tightening with desire. This was a man he had dreamed about his whole life. He exuded absolute power. Envisioning him in uniform made Henry inexplicably ache even more.

Definitely a Marine, he thought. A lieutenant? A captain? This man gave orders and expected them to be followed. He commanded. Demanded. And received.

Turning away, Henry made his way through the crowd in search of the bathroom. Mostly he needed his air back and a moment to process what had transpired. He knew that wasn’t all in his head.

The man hadn’t just cruised him.

He’d claimed him.

Heading into the bathroom, the site of an open stall door felt like an immediate godsend and he needed to get behind it, alone. Quickly.

It happened so fast, he wasn’t quite sure how it occurred. Entering the stall, he turned to close the door but was propelled against the metal stall wall to his right, knocking the air out of him. He heard the muffled sound of the stall door latch being locked. The larger man pinned him with his body, his muscular chest pressing Henry flush against the cold metal. The cool smooth surface felt good against his hot, sunburned cheek. Henry could feel the man’s cock pressed against his ass crack on the outside of his bike shorts and wondered if the guy’s cock was still in his pants or not. It wasn’t until that moment that he realized the man had him in a loose choke hold. He didn’t feel fear, and somehow instinctually knew this guy wasn’t going to hurt him. He was establishing his control and position.

With lips next to Henry’s ear, his voice was little more than a growl. “Is that what you want? Little boys? Little boys that will never satisfy you? Is that what you want?” His sizable cock pressed harder against Henry’s ass. With his free hand, the man reached around to the front of Henry’s bike shorts and found exactly what he was looking for – a hard, excited cock. Giving it a squeeze through the slippery material of his bike shorts, Henry hardened immediately to the man’s touch. Continuing to fondle him through the thin fabric, while simultaneously pressing him from behind, the Marine hissed into Henry’s ear, “I asked you a question.”

Brain cells blown away by the physical assault both front and rear, for the life of him, Henry could not remember the man’s question and answered by pressing his junk harder into the guy’s hand, needing to feel possessed by his grasp. He did not disappoint Henry as he squeezed his balls tighter.

“You still want little boys?” he growled, his arm tightening around Henry’s neck.

The moment Henry felt the crook of his arm squeeze his neck, he began to pump himself into the man’s hand, “No. I don’t want little boys.”

“Then what is it you want?” The man had Henry by his cock and was pressing him firmly against his own hard-on, grinding harshly against his ass.

“I want you.”

“Good. And I don’t want you dancing with those boys. Do you understand that?”

Henry nodded his head, yes.

With his hand firmly encasing Henry’s privates, the Marine pressed the smaller man against him and continued to let Henry feel the pressure of his cock against his ass.

Henry leaned his weight back into him, eyes closed. There was nothing in the world except the guy’s hand kneading and pressing his balls. He wanted to stay in the moment forever. Submit to whatever the man wanted from him.

And then he was gone. Leaving Henry against the wall with a raging hard-on and a need to feel the Marine’s hands and cock again, hear his voice, low and raspy, in his ear. Without removing an article of clothing or coming, he had never had a sexual experience that excited him as much, and he knew, beyond a shadow of a doubt, that he would always remember the sublime feeling of being restrained by this man.

He wanted more.

Blog Tour: A Beautiful Kind Of Love By Ellie Wade

Every choice has a consequence.

I believe in soul mates. Why? Because I have one and his name is Jax Porter.

I have known Jax my whole life and I have loved him with every breath I’ve ever taken. The fact that we were born a mere month apart to mothers that are best friends has made us inseparable since birth.

What we have is so rare, one would think our story would be written, our fate sealed. But, unfortunately that’s not how life works. Life offers us many choices that can turn destiny into chance.

I now find myself heading toward a destination that I could have never imagined and I have to figure out where to go from here.

Will the choices that have been made change our path forever or will fate find its way?
Shredded. Destroyed. Stomped on. Roller coaster ride.  Need tissues. Holy shit.  Those words can’t even begin to describe what my emotions and heart feel like after reading A Beautiful Kind Of Love.  I am still feeling all of those emotions days later, this is one book that will stay with me for a very long time.

I am not going to write a long review because I am honestly worried that I might give something away and I don’t want to do that.  I want to just prepare you for your emotions to be all over the place and your stomach in knots and your heart breaking from the angst.  Jax and Lily are meant to be together, I just know it deep down in my heart that they are.

There is a cliffhanger, I really debated mentioning that because I don’t want people to shy away from reading it because of that.  I think that we will be in for more emotions, more angst, more tears before we find happiness.  I am very impressed with Ellie Wade’s writing.  I had not previously read anything by her but if A Beautiful Kind Of Love is just a sample of what she can write then I will be a fan for life.

Our entire life together has been perfect. We have had eighteen years of foreplay. I don’t need candles or flowers. I need you. Take me to bed and make me yours in the only way that I’m not. ~ A Beautiful Kind of Love
What we have is the absolute rightness of two souls born into this world to complement the other flawlessly. Everything that Jax is and everything that he does is always exactly what I need. A Beautiful Kind of Love
I can’t compare what I’ve had with others to what I could have with you. You are my Lily. There is no comparison. A Beautiful Kind of Love
Our entire life together has been perfect. We have had eighteen years of foreplay. I don’t need candles or flowers. I need you. Take me to bed and make me yours in the only way that I’m not. A Beautiful Kind of Love
This right here with Jax and me, our bodies and our souls acting on pure instinct and desire, is what I was made for. A Beautiful Kind of Love
