Kick follows a dangerous path that leads him to the Storm MC where he spends his days buried deep in a violent and lawless world that is slowly consuming his soul. Evie works hard to escape the hopelessness that threatens to swallow her after her family is ripped apart. She builds a stable life for herself, however it's devoid of the one thing she has always longed for - Kick.
The love these two have for each other never wavers but sometimes in life, love isn't enough. Even in the times they find each other again, they can never make it work. Kick fights against bringing Evie into his world and Evie refuses a life with Kick if he won't fully commit to her. However, when circumstance throws them together again, Kick knows he must finally make her his. The trouble is, Evie's done. She loves him but she believes their chance to be together has long passed.
When Kick finally stakes his claim, will Evie relent and give their love another go, or has Kick left it too long to go after the woman who has owned his heart forever?
Relent is the first book in the Sydney Storm MC series. This is a spin off series to the Storm MC series. Readers do not have to read the Storm MC series to read this one.
I was so excited when I heard that Nina Levine was putting
out another MC series because I absolutely love her Storm MC series, and while this is a spin off if you haven’t read
the Storm MC series yet (*giving you
all an evil eye* and why haven’t you hmmm?) you don’t have to read it (although
it’s really good so you should hint hint) to understand what is going on in Relent.
Kick has always loved Evie, she is his woman, even if they
have been apart. After the loss of both
Evie and Kick’s best friend, he decides that he isn’t going to be separated from
Evie any longer, even if she doesn’t agree.
When they broke up the last time it was because Kick wouldn’t share the
darker side of himself to her, didn’t want to ever have that touch her, but she
didn’t take it that way. She didn’t feel
like he really wanted her. Both made
mistakes, but can Kick convince Evie to not just take a final chance on being
with him but can she accept Sydney Storm MC as well?
I really enjoyed Relent. It is the first in the series so it is
setting up not just the storyline for the series but for Kick and Evie’s story
as well. I am curious about these
bikers, especially their President and the VP.
I think their books in the future are going to be explosive. Relent isn’t just a story about an MC, but of second
chances, of acceptance and that even time or distance can’t stop soul mates
from finally being together in the end.
Nina Levine has another winner on her hands with these guys and I can’t
wait to go along for the ride that the Sydney
Storm MC series will take us on.
