Review: No Flowers Required by Cari Quinn

Alexa Conroy is trying to keep the flower shop she received, when the previous owner past away leaving it to her, open. She is neck deep in debt because the old owner was behind on all the shop’s bills. Alexa, who is used to designer clothes, and never having to worry about money, is now pinching every penny to pay the rent on the building on time. She personally hates the big hardware store in town, Value Hardware, especially since they sell cheap flowers and are in part one reason her shop is struggling. She really doesn’t need any distraction right now, well that is until she sees the sexy as hell maintenance man in her crappy run down apartment.

Dillon James is more than just a maintenance man in Alexa’s building. He is also one of the owners and son to the owners of Value Hardware who along with his brother will be taking over when his parents retire. He sure as hell wants to tell Alexa who he is but knows if he does all hell will break lose. Dillon isn’t like his brother and honestly wants Alexa and her flower shop to succeed and tries to help out as much as he is able too.

I loved Dillon, even though he kept who he really was from Alexa. He was hiding his identity while at the same time showing her who he really is on the inside; a great guy who honestly cares for her a lot. Alexa grew on me. She is stubborn like someone else I know, me, and doesn’t like to fail at anything. Once she started to open up to other’s ideas it was like seeing a completely different person. She finally found out that just because something doesn’t have a huge price tag on it doesn’t mean it’s a piece of crap, not everyone can afford or even wants to spend a fortune on everything they own. Her reaction to Dillon when she finds out the truth was harsh but very understandable, I would be pissed too. I also understand why Dillon kept putting off telling Alexa who he was. He wanted her to see the real him, not the name of a company. I wish there would have been an epilogue showing Dillon and Alexa in the future. I would have liked to see what happens there. Maybe they will be featured in future books in this series???

No Flowers Required is the second book in the Love Required series, and I hope there will be more books in the future.
