Cover Reveal: Once Upon A Darkness by Aria Kane

Gretchen and her twin brother, Hank, were abandoned to a zombie horde when they were five years old. Intended to be a sacrifice by their zealot parents, they were instead rescued by The Company. Raised to become soldiers in the war against zombies, they now provide safe passage through danger zones, one contract at a time.

Clint's only skill is war, but he's weary of killing other men. When his contract with the Marines runs out, he takes a job on Gretchen's team, hoping that the search-and-rescue life will suit him better.

On Clint's second day, their four-man team is attacked, drugged, and taken to a prison full of frightened civilians. The only way in or out is by helicopter and, here, their enemies are human. One by one, the captives are culled from the holding area.  Rumors say the facility director uses the prisoners as experimental subjects for the testing of a zombie cure.

When Hank is taken, Clint and Gretchen must put aside their personal feelings and find a way out of the prison, surrounded by thousands of starving zombies, before Hank becomes just one more disposable guinea pig in the hands of a twisted mad woman.

Review: This Girl by Colleen Hoover

Every once in a while you come across a book that makes you sit up, take notice, and take stock of what you have in your life. The book that did for me was Slammed by Colleen Hoover. Pieces of that story hit so close to home for me and it made me realize how lucky I am. Reading This Girl did it to me all over again. I guess in some ways it should. It’s the same story, only told from Will’s perspective.

What I LOVE about This Girl is the WAY Colleen told the story. It’s not a simple re-telling of Slammed. It’s more than that. I learned some things I didn’t know and it has changed the way I look at some of the events that happened in Slammed. They mean more to me.

This Girl is told in flashbacks. Will and Lake are on their honeymoon. While they’re enjoying said honeymoon, Lake asks Will questions about their shared history. This is how we get Will’s side of Slammed. Not only does it affect me and how I felt about things, it affects Lake, sometimes in good ways and sometimes in bad. But through it all Will and Lake love each other and work it out.

This was a wonderful conclusion to the series. The epilogue is fabulous! I can only hope to be as wonderful a mother as Lake’s mom. She’s truly an inspiration. This was the perfect book to read on Mother’s Day Weekend!

Review: Stone Romance (Stone Passions #2) By A.C. Warneke

What If……you turned right instead of left….
What If……you stayed home instead of going out….
What if……you said no instead of yes…..

How different would your life be?  Would it be better? Worse? Or just…..different?

These are questions we’ll never know the answers to.  They’re games we shouldn’t play. But What If…..you knew how different things would be if you had only…….

Jenna and Rhys are off on adventure. They’re supposed to be going to visit Rhys’s mother to get some of her blood in order save Vaughn and Melanie. But things are not always what they seem.

Jenna and Rhys are a dynamic couple. They’re awesome together. He brings out the best in Jenna and he’s helping her heal. She’s been sad for so long and not really living. Rhys has brought her back to life.

My only complaint about Rhys? He’s TOO perfect. Yep, you heard me…he’s too perfect!

I am loving A.C. Warneke’s Stone Passions series. It’s so full of life, color, heartache and gloriously hottie hotties! I still want a gargoyle of my own! LOL! Where can I get one?

I love the insight into Armand. Up until now I just thought he was a hardass, but  now I see him as someone who needs a little love in his life. Someone to hold. Someone to love. I’m really excited about getting his story. The little snippet we got in the Epilogue has whetted my appetite! Bring on Armand!

One of the things I REALLY liked about this story was the way Warneke delved into Greek Mythology. The stories we were told are given more depth and new insight into those myths come to light. It makes the world Warneke has built that much richer. The amazing thing about all of this; it’s our world. The world we live in now. She didn’t create an alternate world or dimension. It’s all embedded into or world, using stories we read in school or watched on TV. I really like the way she took those stories and weaved them into this story.

Makes me wonder…..What If…….

Review: Leonardo by Melissa Schroeder

Leonardo “Leo” Santini is in the Army and is stationed in San Antonio. He always has a plan for how his life should be. While visiting an injured friend at BAMC, he never figured he would go head to head with the physical therapist assigned to his friend’s case. He is immediately attracted to her and is completely unprepared when it comes to dealing with her. Maryanne “MJ” Johnson, doesn’t have time right for a relationship, and she is bound and determined not to have a relationship with someone who is active duty military, she has been in one too many relationships with one that turned out bad. Like Leo, she is instantly attracted to him, and tries her hardest to not only get involved with him but to also not show him her feelings.

The sexual chemistry between Leo and Maryanne is just waiting to explode, and it keeps building with each interaction. The back and forth between the two of them was hilarious and had me laughing out loud numerous times. Maryanne can be such a smart ass, I loved it! Leo also proved that just because you are a tough military man that you can be sweet and romantic as well.

I could not put this novella down. It was a quick and fun read that introduces us to author Melissa Schroeder’s newest series, The Santinis. This author knows how to write about hot and sexy men in the military. Fans of her other books will love this new series!

Review: Undone by Sara Humphreys

If you haven’t read the first 3.5 books in this series then stop reading right now. While the first 3.5 books may work well as a standalone book, book four changes the game!

This is the tale of Marianna (Purebred Amoveo) and Pete (Purebred human... or so he thinks). When we first meet Marianna of the Kodiak Bear Clan in Untamed, she is shocked to learn her father’s true role in the Purist Movement (Purist; noun; group of purebred jerkfaces who feel that Amoveo’s should not mate with anyone other than Amoveo’s; i.e. Hybrids, Humans, Other Supernatural Beings, etc.). Now that the Purists have been revealed, Marianna runs away to New York to make up her mind about which side her loyalty lies on. She hangs out in a club in Manhattan run by vampire Olivia and her coven (but that’s a horse of a different color). Now her twin brother Dante is mated with Kerry, a hybrid from the Panther clan, and while she loves her brother, she isn’t sure how she should feel.

Dante hires his friend Pete to protect his sister from both her own reckless behavior and the Purists. Sparks immediately fly between Marianna and Pete, which confuses both of them. Up till now, she hasn’t found her mate yet, either in real life or in the dream plane. Amoveo’s first connect with their mate in the dream plane which strengthens the psychic bond that they share. Now Pete pretty much just thinks he’s got the hots for her and she could never love a guy like him, after all, he is just a human and not her mate.

Well, they are both in for a rude awakening when they find out that things aren’t always as they seem...

Ya see Pete, well, Pete is... special... not fully human, and he isn’t a shifter either... can’t tell ya what he is cause that would give too much away but let me tell you that when you find out, you better hold on to your britches cause they are going to get blown off!!!!

This story has everything... romance, intrigue, drama, sex- OMG the sex... we are talking on a snowmobile in the middle of winter!!! Mystery, suspense, action, secret babies... I laughed, I cried, I feel like I ran a damn marathon! Sara Humphries has truly created her own world. Her next book to be released is Tall, Dark and Vampire, which is a spin off to vampire Olivia’s story and I can’t wait to get my hands on that in August. I give this a very enthusiastic 5 stars and will be telling anyone and everyone who listens to me to give it a read, they will NOT be disappointed!

Zane (Alluring Indulgences #2) by Nicole Edwards

I hate to say this but…..the McCay boys are no longer my most favorite HOTTIE HOTTIE Cowboys. They now share that distinction with the Walker Boys. Don’t get me wrong, I still love me some McKays, but the Walkers are right there with them. Mmmmm…..Yummy……

Add into that and Zane is just HOTTTIE McHottie! OMG! (just a moment, I need wipe the drool off my face.)

Zane and Vanessa are friends with benefits. When Zane is attacked in front of Vanessa’s house, he ends up fighting for his life. Vanessa feels responsible for the attack on Zane. She starts to fall apart. As a result she pulls away from Zane.

When Zane finally gets out of the hospital he relentlessly pursues Vanessa. He’s determined to help her get over the attack she witnessed while making her fall in love with him.

The scenes between Zane and Vanessa are HOT!! OMG! They were scorching. Then we add in Beau for a little three way action and HOLY HOT HELL BATMAN! Hang on to your panties! There’s a little twist in this threesome that will make you go hmmmm…….

Then tension and suspense of the story is amazing. Zane is the typical alpha male and his inner dom is coming out! I hope we see more of Zane and Vanessa!

The teaser into Travis’s story is intriguing and HOT! I think this whole series is going to be HOT! I’m so looking forward to the other stories. Nicole Edwards has become one of my new Favorite Authors!
