Title: Fighting the Fall
Series: Fighting #4
Author: JB Salsbury
Cover Design: Pixel Mischief Design
 Release Date: November 4, 2014

The toughest fighters aren’t created in the octagon but are born of necessity. When life delivers blow after punishing blow, you fight back or get destroyed.

Eve Dawson has had her fill of bad luck. A string of unhealthy relationships has left her angry, bitter, and frustrated. She’s given up on being happy and settles for content. Swearing off men, she repels advances and makes herself a challenge to even the most persistent suitors. After all, how much can the fragile human heart take? But life isn’t finished with her, and when things can’t possibly get worse . . . they do.

Stay on your feet.

It’s Cameron Kyle’s motto, but with his fighting career ripped from his grasp, a child he wasn’t strong enough to save, and a marriage that even the brawn of a heavyweight couldn’t hold together, it’s getting harder and harder to stay upright. He takes on the position of CEO of the UFL, intent on hiding his biggest weakness in order to forge a path that leads him back into the octagon.

When an old rival mysteriously gets wind of Cameron’s plan to fight again, he comes out of retirement to settle old debts, but secrets, lies, and betrayal threaten to deliver the death-blow. The distraction of a sass-mouthed girl seventeen years his junior is the last thing he needs until a tragic accident shatters the firm foundation of his resolve and he realizes just how far he’s fallen.

Will they risk it all and fight to be together? Or does defeat lie within the fall?

I feel his eyes on me, and when I turn I almost recoil at the intensity behind his stare. “Can you stop acting like we’re two old friends shooting the shit when you know good and fucking well you’re thinking the same thing I am.”

My mouth falls open and I force it shut, only to have it drop open again.

“I’ve hand my hands and my mouth all over every inch of that gorgeous body, Eve. You think I can’t read you? Know what you’re thinking about right now?”

I swallow hard. “What am I thinking about?”

“Same thing I am.”

Release Blitz, Blog Tour, Review & Giveaway: Worth Forgiving by Vi Keeland

They say men like a lady in the living room and a whore in the bedroom. I never knew the sentiment was reciprocal. Until I met Jax Knight. A gentleman in public, a commanding, dirty talking rogue in the bedroom.

Daughter of legendary fighter “The Saint,” Lily St. Claire knows firsthand how fighters can be. As the owner of a chain of MMA gyms, she’s no stranger to aggressive, dominating, and possessive men. That’s why she’s always kept her distance. But the day Jax Knight walks through her door she’s captivated by his charm. Stunningly handsome, well mannered, Ivy League educated, and confident, he shatters all the preconceived notions she’d come to think were true about men who trained to fight.

But falling for someone so soon after her breakup wasn’t something she’d planned on. And definitely not something her ex plans to allow.

We first met Jax in Worth the Chance, which is book two of this series, and I for one wanted more of his story.  He grew up the rich boy, son of a Senator, but always loved MMA.  When the scandal that surrounds his father breaks, we learn that Jax just may have more of a connection with the MMA world that he previously thought.  Jax really surprised me. I knew that deep down he was a good guy but I wasn’t sure how he was going to come across in the book, I’ll just say this; I love him and want to have imaginary book babies with him.  This man is protective, funny, flirty, sexy as hell and loyal.  He knows how to set the sheets on fire in the bedroom but be totally sweet and a gentleman outside of it too.
Lily grew up around fighters, she also is part owner of a franchise of MMA gyms.   She has a complete douche bag of an ex who doesn’t want to take the hint or the title “Ex” at all.  Lily is an artist.  She is weary to start a relationship with Jax because of how her ex is acting and treated her.  I think the only issue I had with Lily was that she has been around fighters all her life, grew up in a gym but doesn’t like fighting.  I really had a hard time connecting her with running a gym where MMA fighter’s come to train but yet she doesn’t approve of violence.  Other than that, I thought she was sweet, sure as hell didn’t need to go through what she did, and helped balanced Jax out when his own life was in turmoil because of his father.

Vi Keeland has made this reviewer a fan for life.  She sucks you in with her sexy as sin alpha males, addicting story lines and scorching sex scenes.  Add to the fact that I love MMA fighter books and for me this series has been a must read.  I can’t wait to see what she has in store for her fans next, because I will be anxiously waiting for the opportunity to read it to fall in love with whatever story she has planned.

Excerpt: Meet Jax and Lily
Dinner and a dirty mouth

My face pinks when the waiter clears his throat, no doubt he’d heard Jax’s last comment.

“Are you ready to hear the specials?”

“Are we?” Jax arches an eyebrow, his eyes gleaming with delight. He’s not the slight bit embarrassed, but knows I am and is quite enjoying himself.

“Yes. Please.” I give him the evil eye and force my full attention back to the waiter. The entire time the waiter talks about the specials I feel Jax’s eyes burning into me.

“I’ll give you a moment to let you decide.” Graciously, the waiter excuses himself.

“Why did you do that?” I scold, my voice low.

“Do what?” He leans back in his seat, crossing his arms over his thick chest.

“You know exactly what I’m talking about.”

“Do I?”

“You enjoy watching me flustered, don’t you?”

Jax arches both eyebrows. Bad choice of words.

“You know what I mean.”

Leaning in, his voice gritty and sexy, he looks me straight in the eyes when he speaks. “I love watching you. Period. But what I like best is watching you pretend you’re unaffected. It’s like an unspoken challenge.” He pauses and leans in even closer. “I love the pink that creeps up your cheeks when I say something dirty. The way your pussy throbs when I mention what I’m going to do to you later, and you wiggle in your seat trying to control it. So yeah, I guess I do like watching you flustered. You sit and give your attention to the waiter, trying to pretend you’re listening to whatever he’s saying instead of thinking of me feeding you my cock later, but we both know you didn’t hear one word he said. Hell I didn’t hear one word watching you, just knowing what you were thinking about.”

This time, I see the waiter before he’s close enough to hear us. He smiles as he reaches our table. “So what can I get for you this evening? Did I interest you in one of our specials?”

I look at the waiter, then Jax, who arches an eyebrow with a knowing smirk on his face, then back to the waiter. “The specials all sounded delicious. I just can’t decide for myself. I’m going to defer to my date to pick one for me.” I return my eyes to Jax with a cheeky grin.

He throws his head back with a chuckle and looks at the poor confused waiter. “We’ll take whatever two are your favorites. Surprise us.”

Blog Tour and Giveaway: Worth the Chance by Vi Keeland

Vince “The Invincible” Stone, Vinnie to those who knew him before, has the biggest fight of his career ahead of him.  He needs to put all of his focus and concentration on training for his fight.  He knows that this is the chance to prove all those who ever doubted him wrong.  Vince doesn’t need to be wanting the sexy woman from his past, the one he walked away from 7 years ago, but he can’t stop what he feels for Liv.

Liv has never forgotten about the boy who broke her heart, and she would know him anywhere.  What she doesn’t expect is having to interview him for her job and be thrust back into his life.  The more time she spends with Vinnie, the more the walls around her heart begin to crumble.  She knows that they have a chemistry that is unmatchable with anyone else.

When Liv is given an assignment, the one that could give her the job she has always dreamed of, will she be able to keep her story from Vince or will she reveal the truth and possibly shatter his heart by doing so?  Can she open her heart to Vinnie again and possibly lose the one thing she has worked so hard for just to have that chance with Vinnie again?  When there are secrets in a relationship, those secrets and destroy everything once they are revealed.

Vinnie is omg let me grab my fire extinguisher smoking hot.  This is one sexy as hell MMA fighter and he knows his effect on women.  He has worked hard to prepare for this fight, he knows that it is his chance to prove that he has made it to all of those who ever doubted his skill.  He has been training with Nico and is more than ready to get in the ring and win this fight.  He has had a shit life growing up with his addict mother, she just continues to pull him into her troubles and because he is a good son he is always there to help put back the pieces.  I think I seriously fell in love with Vinnie, he is the ultimate bad boy.  He is dominant, sex on 2 legs, protective, a MMA fighter, but he is also the guy that didn’t want to hurt the one person he cared about, Liv.

Liv has wanted this job with the paper she is interning for since she was little, this is her dream job.  She has always wanted to be a writer.  When she first runs back into Vinnie she really doesn’t want anything to do with the guy the broke her heart back in high school but she knows that she has to do the assignment to be in the running for the position that will open after the internship is completed.  When she is given an additional assignment regarding Vinnie you could almost see the train wreck begin to happen.  I felt for her, she was torn between the job she has always dreamed of and the one man that owns her heart.  I just kept saying to myself “don’t do it Liv, do not keep this from him”, but did they book listen to me?  Nope.  And what of course happens?  The secrets are revealed, trust and hearts are broken, and stupid decisions are made all in anger.

I absolutely loved the dynamic between Liv and Vinnie.  He was the bad boy to her good girl.  He knew Liv was special all those years ago and didn’t want to hurt her but unfortunately he does anyways.  I liked how Liv didn’t just fall down at his feet the first time they see each other again, she made him work his way past her walls and into her life.  Having Nico as his trainer was perfect because you got to see more of Nico and Elle’s relationship in this book.

This MMA fighter series is one that has me hooked, Worth The Fight started my love for this series but Worth The Chance has cemented my love for these fighters.  Vi Keeland has me drooling over these fighters, I am addicted and want more.  This is a definite must read, this book is smoking hot so be prepared incase your e-reader catches fire when reading about the sexy as sin Vince “The Invincible” Stone.

OMG! Vi Keeland has done it again!

Worth the Chance is an emotional roller coaster that will have you laughing, crying, and screaming at your kindle.  It’s wonderful. It’s beautiful. It’s OMFG HOTTER THAN HELL!!

Vince and Liv had a special connection in high school. Then he broke her heart. Now she has to write a story about him and they’re going at it again. This time though, Vince is in it to win it. The question is, can he convince Liv he won’t rip her heart out again?

I love the whole reunion/friends to lovers aspect of this story. We all have that one crush that got away or broke our heart. Live having the chance to do it all again, but as woman instead of a girl is awesome. Add in to the fact that bad-boy Vince is now hotter than hell and still a bad-boy, albeit a little bit tamer. Well….maybe not, but he’s all grown up.

Live and Vince make a dynamic couple. Vince is amazing. He’s honest, up front and unapologetic about any of it. He’s straightforward and doesn’t make excuses. I love it! He has no secrets. I LOVE that!

Liv doesn’t have any secrets either. At least, not until her boss wants her to do an expose on him. Then, she keeps things from him. But she does it out of love. She wants to protect him. He’s never had anyone to protect him, fight for him. She wants to do that for him. But, as we all know, secrets come back to bite us in the ass and Liv is no different. Her secrets come back to bite her. And Vince is furious!

The ending was amazing. I loved it. I couldn’t have imagined a better ending. It was sweet, tender, and down to the wire. It couldn’t have happened any other way.

I really enjoyed having Elle and Nico in the story. After getting to know them in Worth the Fight, I was so happy to see them again. It was like running into old friends and catching up.

I can’t wait for Worth Forgiving. I know it will be explosive, heart wrenching and hot hot hot!  July can’t get here soon enough!

Review and Giveaway: Worth the Fight by Vi Keeland

Worth the Fight by Vi Keeland is definitely worth the read!

From the very beginning I was sucked into this amazing world.  Nico and Elle are such a hot and amazing couple! It was hot and it was intense!

Elle is a lawyer who has fallen into a comfortable relationship with her friend William. It’s comfortable. It’s predictable. It’s boring. Then she meets Nico. He’s not comfortable. He’s not predictable. He’s not boring. Nico is everything William is not. William is refined and cultured. Nico is crude and a fighter.

Nico is everything girls want. He’s a bad-boy, he’s intense, and he puts Elle first. Elle is just as wonderful. She’s caring, kind, and wants to take care of everyone.

I loved everything about this book. Nico and Elle are amazing characters. They’re flawed and imperfect like real people. Neither one of them is perfect.  They’re also moral. They have standards and live up to those standards.

Nico is awesome. He puts Elle first in everything. He goes after what he wants, but makes sure he’s not compromising himself or Elle. He’s a gentleman, even when everything in him is demanding he be a Neanderthal. Don’t get me wrong, he does have some Neanderthal moments! They just make him that much more loveable.

Elle is just as amazing. It’s obvious she cares about those around her. She does her best to take care of them and she’s a genuine person. She’s also a shitty liar for a lawyer (just ask Nico!).

These two get together and it’s intense. It’s hot, it’s wild, it’s wonderful! It’s everything you want from a story. Their imperfections just make them that much more wonderful. These imperfections and past traumas only add to the depth of the characters. It doesn’t consume them, it’s part of them. It’s also what makes their romance so hard.

Worth the Fight is definitely worth the read! I’m looking forward to the next one in the series. We’ve already met the main character for the next one and I can’t wait to see how it turns out!
