Book Blitz: Enduring Fate By Alicia Rae

Colton Kingston has loved Paige Summers his entire life. All he has ever dreamed of is having Paige by his side while he lives the simple life of a cowboy raising horses and cattle on his farm.

When tragedy strikes, fate tests the strength of their love.

Paige’s confidence is shaken as she wonders if she can heal from her past and move forward, so Colton can have the life he was born to live.

Can Colton and Paige endure everything in fate’s path?

Or will Paige give up her one true love to give Colton the life he deserves?

Are you looking for a good old heart warming, leave a smile on your face type of read?  If so then you will probably want to check out Enduring Fate.  Love is never easy, there will always be up and down in life and relationships but it is how you endure these ups and down is what counts.

This is an emotional and at times heart breaking read and when you know what Paige goes through after her accident you can’t help but cry for her pain.  Colton, I really love his character because he loves Paige and wants to help her see for herself that to him she is beautiful and perfect. He was determined to get Paige back where she belonged, right next to him, and that’s what he did.  Is there other drama that could still threaten to tear their relationship apart?  Yes there is, but are Paige and Colton strong enough to withstand it?  Guess you are just going to have to read the book for yourself to see.

Oh there is a slight cliffhanger so just be prepared, but don’t get to upset because the second book is now available.  I am looking forward to the rest of this series.  Previously I had not read anything by Alicia Rae but I can say with a certainty that I will be reading a lot more from her in the future.

Review: Texas Pride by Kindle Alexander

Sometimes you need something a little different. Not a lot different, just a little. Texas Pride by Kindle Alexander gave me what I wanted.

In many ways, this is a typical romance. Yet in others, it’s not. The typical part of the romance comes from two people meeting and falling in love. What’s not typical about this one? They’re both gay, they’re both in the closet, one is a movie star that’s left the industry and the other is a small town cowboy. It’s a love story that will renew your faith in humanity.

Austin Grainger has left the movie industry. He’s quit cold turkey and moved back to his small hometown in Texas. He bought part of Kitt Kelly’s land and built a house. Kitt Kelly has no idea who bought his land, but when he finds out it’s Austin Grainger, he realizes he’s in trouble. See, they’re both hiding. Hiding from the public and hiding from each other. Ever since high school they’ve had the hots for each other. Only the other didn’t know it!

What happens next is a secret love affair that will warm your heart. They see each other in private and slowly fall in love. But all that is threatened when Austin’s secret is exposed. He can only hope Kitt will be there on other side.

Austin and Kitt are a great couple. They’re both so hot and in many ways they act like love sick teenagers. It was fun to watch them sit next to each other in the truck, make out like horny teenagers and do it all while hiding, just like horny teenagers.

Kitt was hiding because he didn’t think the Agriculture community would accept him being gay. He was worried he would lose all business and lose the farm. But sometimes we have to face those fears and let people either help us and support us or walk away. It’s the biggest fear of all. Losing it all.

Texas Pride was a great read. The story flows so well. But most of all? It will renew your faith in humanity!

Blog Review Tour & Giveaway: Loving Cara (Love Under the Big Sky #1) by Kristen Proby

Loving Cara was the perfect blend of romance, heat, angst and emotion. Kristen Proby has swooned me with her new series, Love Under the Big Sky. S-W-O-O-N-E-D me!

Josh King and Cara Donovan have grown up together in a small town in Montana. Two years ahead of her, Josh never really noticed Cara before. Sure he use to pull on her curls in passing, but that was about it. Years later however, they are both all grown up and settled into their adult lives. Josh has taken over for his parents and runs the Lazy K Ranch. Cara works as a teacher in town. An unfortunate circumstance has them crossing paths. Josh definitely takes notice of Cara now. Long gone is the curly haired plain Jane from their school days. Now, standing before him is a breathtaking curvy blonde full of sass and heart. And well, who’s not noticed Josh. He’s 6’3”, tanned, muscular and incredibly hot.

This one truly pulled at my heartstrings. Let me just take a moment first to cover what brings Josh and Cara together. His twelve-year old nephew, Seth, is unexpectedly dropped at the ranch. Seth’s mother abandons him while Seth’s dad, Zack, is deployed in Afghanistan. Of course this is going to play emotional havoc on a young boy. Not caring about much of anything including his grades, prompts Josh to seek tutoring help over the summer for him. Cara is a positive light for Seth. With her help, he gets his grades back on track and curbs his disrespectful attitude towards everyone. However, it’s not until after Seth’s dad returns that some light is shed on the things his mother told him. At that moment my heart broke. It struck a strong personal cord with me. Ugly tears were streaming down my face with the lies his monster of a mother fed him and the animosity that he developed for his dad. Ugh, I’m crying now just thinking of it again. Ms. Proby wrote an amazing heart wrenching scene there. I know Seth and his dad still have things to work on. Seth himself as more to reveal later in the story; as if my heart couldn’t break enough for this kid. I’m truly looking forward to Zack’s story.

Okay, on to Josh and Cara. I smile now, just thinking of what a great love story it was. They’d known each other their whole lives, but it’s not until years later they see each other in a different light. The romance between them just felt so natural.

“No measure of time with you will ever be long enough, Cara.”

Of course what’s a romance book without some torment. Once again, Ms. Proby had my heart in my throat when a bad storm rolls through town and almost puts an end to something before it could fully start. She captured the emotion of the situation perfectly. I felt the spike in my adrenaline as Cara reacts to get out of harms way and then again when Josh was desperately in search of her. What played out from there was sensual and beautiful. Josh is so smooth and attentive; in and out of the bedroom.

“You own me, Carolina. Body and soul.”

While, Cara may have grown into a beauty, sadly she still sees herself as the girl from the past. This opens the door for uncertainty to seep in. You’d think by now Ms. Proby would have thrown enough angst at as, but nope. She took me on some highs and lows with this one. To the very end. I refused to leave my Kindle. I needed to know what happened next. It was well worth the lost hours of sleep.

I have to add. In true Kristen Proby fashion, she brought her characters to life. These people exist! And I fell absolutely in love with them; from Josh and Cara, Zack and Seth, to other characters I haven’t even mentioned cause this review would never end if I did. I’m excited and cannot wait for more in this series.
