Blog Tour and Giveaway: Mine by Katy Evans

“I will do anything to make her MINE.” —Remington Tate

In the international bestseller REAL, the unstoppable bad boy of the Underground fighting circuit finally met his match. Hired to keep him in prime condition, Brooke Dumas unleashed a primal desire in Remington “Remy” Tate as vital as the air he breathes . . . and now he can’t live without her.

Brooke never imagined she would end up with the man who is every woman’s dream, but not all dreams end happily ever after, and just when they need each other the most, Brooke is torn away from the ringside. Now with distance and darkness between them, the only thing left is to fight for the love of the man she calls MINE.

Our Reviews:
If you haven’t already read Real, (seriously WTF are you waiting for if you haven’t, this is Remington “Riptide” Tate we are talking about here people and OMG his is freaking hot), you need to read it first so that you understand Remy and his relationship with Brooke.  Mine is the continuation of the story between Remy and Brooke.
I fell in love with Remington “Remy” Tate when I read Real, and I think I love Remy even more now.  He is even sexier in Mine, in my opinion.  There is just something about an alpha male doing what has to be done to protect what’s his that makes him so sexy in my eyes.   Remy didn’t give up and fought hard to protect Brooke, even when doing so kept them apart.  Remy went black but he fought his way back to blue.  Remy continues to fight off anything and anyone who may risk what he has with Brooke.
Brooke, well what can I say about Brooke besides you screwed up, you left him, you cannot keep throwing things in his face when you left him.  I did feel bad for Brooke during these times though, especially when she finds out Remy was black during the time they were apart because she knows what he used to do before they got together.  When Brooke finds out something big, it changes everything between her and Remy and things will never be the same.
I liked Mine and am looking forward to reading Remy’s POV in Remy which releases soon as well.  Mine will make you pull out your hair at times and it will also make you want to find your own Remy at others.  It is more emotional than Real because of the new “fights” Remy will have to face in life.  I really do want a Remy of my own, now where to find one hmmmm.
Remy and Brooke’s story continues on in Mine. And what a story it is. Remy continues to fight both in the ring and out of it. He’s fighting for everything.
This is a hard review for to write. I love Remy and Brooke. They have a romantic story that tugs at your heartstrings. We have a man, Remy, who was abandoned by the very people that were supposed to love him above all others. They left him and he loved to learn on his own. He defined what love is to him. In some ways it’s obsessive and overbearing, but it’s out of fear of losing that which he loves that causes it. Add in his bipolar and you’ve got a powder keg waiting to go off.
Then we have Brooke. Her upbringing was slightly different than most peoples. She was training to be an Olympic athlete. Because of injuries she never got that far. But, she’s made peace with it and moved on. Her parents love her but they can be a bit difficult.
When circumstances change Brooke and Remy’s relationship, it’s actually Remy that takes the more responsible position. I really wanted to smack Brooke on the head. She was being immature and irresponsible.  There were actually several times I wanted to smack Brooke.
I also got irritated with Brooke as she I felt the only thing she could talk about was how everyone was staring at Remy (he’s a famous boxer and he’s hot, of course they’re staring), how ripped he was (he trains 8 hours a day, he’s ripped), how girls fawn all over him (see above), etc. It was repetitive to me. I also got irritated at Brooke as she kept harping on Remy being with other girls after she left him. It was reminiscent of Rachel and Ross in Friends. “We were on a BREAK!” I’m not sure what she expected. She knew when he was black he wanted a LOT of sex and touching. He’s not himself when he’s black. And, they were BROKEN UP! SHE LEFT HIM!!
Now, the saving grace of this book was Remy. He stood proud and tall. He stood up for what he wanted and he didn’t back down. He was willing to do what it took to make sure those he loved were safe. He made hard decisions and did what had to be done.
