Brenna left the MC life to start and
have a better, normal one, or so she thought. What she didn’t know was that the
man she married would turn out to be an abusive prick. After carefully planning
her escape, she waits until he leaves for a business trip. Once he is gone she
hurries to grab what she needs, grabs her daughter and makes her way back to
her old life.
Back to the only place where she
would be safe.
Back to the MC where her Pop is VP.
Back to Dragon.
Five years ago, Brenna and Dragon
shared a passionate night together when she was down to visit her Pop, then she
left. With no goodbye. No phone call. No letter. Nothing. When she shows up and
he sees her he is in total shock.
What occurs afterwards and what is
revealed is heartbreaking. My heart cried out for Trix (Brenna’ little girl)
and my heart cried out for Dragon. Until that is he does something so horrible and
stupid out of anger that I’m surprised Brenna forgave him and took him back. I
was like “Dude, I know you’re hurting and all but shit did you really have to
do THAT?”
I laughed, wanted to hurt Brenna’s
husband something fierce, wanted to hug the shit out of her Pop and yes I shed some tears (for several reasons).
One thing I didn’t really care for
was the instant love connection between B& D. Other than that I really
enjoyed reading CC. I can’t wait to read more about other secondary characters,
Grease and Casper. I’m really interested in Casper. I think I might have a
crush on him.
This is a great debut novel by Nicole
Jacquelyn and I can’t wait to see more from her.
