ARC Review: REAL by Katy Evans

Oh Laaaaaadies!

Be prepared for the MADNESS and SEDUCTION of Remington "Riptide" Tate!
 

You ever come across a book and you get IT? IT being THE moment, the attraction, the chemistry, the connection, the story, the emotions, and the love?

THE moment...

"Your name," he growls, panting, his eyes wild on mine.

"Uh, Brooke."

"Brooke what?" he snaps out, his nostrils flaring.

"It's Brooke Dumas,"

His lips curl and he meets my gaze. "Brooke Dumas." He just fucked my name right in front of me. <----That was a hook line and sinker for me.

The attraction is instant with our two characters, Brooke and Remington or Remy. They first meet at an MMA event where Remy is going to fight. Brooke tags along with her best friend, Mel, who has a crush on Remy. 

Brooke is instantly attracted to Remy when she sees him. I mean, how can you not be? He has dark hair, blue-eyes, a tattooed muscled body and dimples going for him. After their moment, she's hesitant to do anything with him because of his reputation. 

And what is his reputation? You guessed it...a manwhore.

The chemistry is off the chain! I literally swooned with the way Remy kisses. Have you ever had goosebumps that made your nipples pucker up? TMI? Well shit, that's what his kisses will do to you! No joke. No lie. His touches will leave you breathless and when they FINALLY get together, cause it takes a while for them to, it will leave you panting with a smile on your face.

And then you'll think to yourself...Damn, Remy, just damn.

Love their bonding moments, and call me crazy, but I love the way he always smells her. At the neck people, get your mind out of the gutter!

The connection... I saw it thru Remy's eyes even though we don't get his POV. Brooke is his. His to love, to protect, to do what he can to make her happy. He has his moments where he can be an ass, but the further along you read the more you'll understand him.

REAL is a unique story. I would say why, but then I'd spoil the secret for you. You get why he is and why he does/did as his "outlet".  The other characters in the book really make the story as well. They'll make you laugh and they'll teach you how loyal friends can be thru difficult circumstances.

The emotions are plentiful! Remy holds back a lot with Brooke cause of his secret. He's afraid that it might drive her away from him. He may not say a lot with words but he says plenty with the music he shares with Brooke. That's where you get most of his emotions from. The author did a terrific job with the song selections. 

Another favorite line...

 

He wants to be my real, not my adventure.

Final thoughts...

Read the book. I promise you will not be disappointed. PLUS, and it's a HUGE plus...there are NO cliffhangers!!!!!! Hooray!! Katy Evans is an author who made a fan out of me. I will be checking out more of her work in the future.
