I laughed.
I cringed.
I cried.
I loved it!
Beautiful Bastard made me laugh out loud. I found Chloe to
be funny, snarky, and someone I could completely relate to. I think my favorite
line in the books was Chloe's.
"If only he would keep his mouth shut, he'd be perfect.
A piece of duct tape would doe the trick. I had some in my desk that I'd occasionally
pull out and fondle, hoping someday could put it to good use."
Obviously Bennett Ryan is an asshole. Why else, would Chloe
want to tape his mouth shut? But what I loved about her, was that she didn't
back down from him. She was an intern and at his mercy, but she didn't cower
before him. She gave as good as she got!
Bennett is the Beautiful Bastard. He's gorgeous, rich, her
boss, and above all else an asshole. He's rude, slams doors, and doesn't give
out compliments.
When he finally touches her, sparks explode. It's instant
combustion. They're all over each other and literally tear each other's clothes
off. I found it funny and creepy that he
kept her torn underwear. I was also offended that he tore La Perla undies off
her. LA PERLA! Really?
They finally start to get their relationship worked out and
Bennett is the typical male. He screws up. Big time. Chloe does what she has to
and for the next several months, they're both miserable.
I understand why Chloe did what she did. I agree with her. I
don't think she had another choice. But man, it hurt to watch!
I'm really looking forward to the next one. I'm hoping that
Christina Lauren can make me laugh again!
