Review: Release Me by J. Kenner
Another billionaire who owns everything seducing the chica. Will I ever get tired of reading this "50" genre. Nope. I'm a sucka. But this tale is a different tale...
Nikki Fairchild and Damien Stark are kindred spirits in their youths. They both did what their parents wanted them to do. Damien being a professional tennis player and Nikki in beauty pageants. They met at one of the pageants that Nikki was in while he was a guest judge, and they had a moment.
Six years later they meet again. Nikki's working for a company and she is trying to get Damien's help with a project. When said project goes belly up, Nikki gets fired.
Damien and Nikki have a connection thru art. He hires her to be a model for a painting he wants, and she agrees because she isn't employed. With their togetherness, they develop feelings and with these feelings they form a relationship.
Nikki uses pain to help with her problems. She use to cut herself and with this she is scarred. Damien sees this and helps her with it. I truly felt the connection with them. I loved how he saw her thru his eyes. Damien made her feel cherished and desirable. He's also a very sensual man who makes beautiful love and when the time calls for it, hot sex. *All I'm saying is he can give me a rub down anytime*
Her best friends Jamie and Ollie were a hoot even though they are messed up. Nikki's mom is a total biatch. No lie. I'm really looking forward to the next installment!!
Favorite line:
"Why?" I whisper. "Why does everything fall away when I'm with you?"
"Because there's nothing else, he answers. "Nothing but you and me."
