Nate McKenna is all business when at work; stuffy suits, hair tied back. Off the clock he’s long haired, tattoos, a former UFC fighter, and has a specially placed piercing. He’s also intense, protective, sexy as all hell and so very, very alpha. All that intensity is focused on Julianne Montgomery. Jules is sassy, smart, independent and beautiful. She’s protective of her heart and her career. She's been attracted to Nate since day one, but being that he's her boss she can't go down that path. They work in a no fraternization allowed company. Nate could care less. What he does in his personal life is his business and he plans to get real personal with Jules. Nate is the one man who makes her want to risk it all.

“A what-a?” My fingers trace it, and then I turn my forefinger around the tip of him and he sucks in a breath through his teeth.

“Why would you get this?” I ask, unexpectedly turned on and curious.
*thud* my jaw hit the floor, panties ignited. Just turn the damn AC to full blast. That scene takes place in the Prologue. Imagine what the rest of the book is like. I’m pretty sure I have scorch marks on my fingers just from holding it. Mind blowing sex aside, it’s so sweet to see the way Nate spoils her. He’s thoughtful, attentive, and thoroughly, toe-curling romantic. What man is so observant that, on your first date, he stocks the fridge with your favorite dessert because it’s what you always order at business lunches?
Nate starts to sing along, softly, “I won’t give up on us, even if the skies get rough, I’ve given you all my love, I’m still looking up…”
He pulls me against him, one arm wrapped around the small of my back, and takes my hand in his, and begins to sway with the music, dancing me across the spacious, beautiful bathroom in the candlelight, while the sky explodes in lightning outside. He lowers his face next to mine, and just barely touches me with his cheek, turns his face, and brushes my cheek with his nose, sending shivers down my spine and out my arms and legs.
“I won’t give up on us,” he whispers in my ear and I feel tears prick my eyes again.
It’s beautiful to watch Jules open up to love and enjoy herself. To love back in return. But how long can they keep up appearances? If their relationship is exposed, both their careers are on the line. The stress of keeping it all a secret coupled with a vindictive woman from Nate’s past may be their undoing.
Kudos Ms. Proby! You have made me a certified fan girl of this series. I happily and excitedly await the next one.
