Book Tour: Step F*@k By Scarlett Ward

SWIPE LEFT.

That's all I did. A few too many glasses of wine with my best friend and the bitch convinced me to go on one of those dating websites.

A one-night stand.

A booty call.

And you know what? It.was.amazing.

I spent all night in a sexy stranger's arms, hot and sweaty, until it was time to sneak out and do the walk of shame back to my apartment.

I never thought I'd see sexy stranger again, and I was totally fine with that - until my mother's wedding.

She's getting remarried, see. And sexy stranger just happens to be my new stepbrother.

All the wine in the world isn't going to make this better.
You know I had to sign up to read this one just because of the name alone, hehe Step-F*@K. I have never said I was the most mature reviewer, but hey if you can’t giggle at that then I don’t know what to tell you.  Anyways, I should make sure you understand that this is a serial, so there are cliffhangers until the book completes itself, but before you get your panties in a twist about it the remaining parts of the serial are releasing very quickly (the dates are listed lower in the post) which makes waiting not a big deal people.

This review is only going to cover the first part, this is where the future step siblings meet, although at the time they have no idea who each other is when they meet up for a hook up. Jai is in town for the upcoming wedding and Emma is a college student.  Emma’s best friend sets her up on a dating website and that is how they meet.

Now this is short because it is only the first part but it is really short, while we are introduced to Jai and Emma and the hook up that is about all that happens in this first part. Trust me the chemistry between them is smoking, but we don’t get a real chance for us readers to feel their connection yet.  I am looking forward to the rest of the parts to see exactly how these two are going to not only deal with their attraction but if they can get past the whole step sibling issue.

Series Reading Order

Part Two
Releasing June 25th

Part Three
Releasing July 3rd

Part Four
Releasing July 10th

Scarlett Ward is a yoga-loving, coffee-drinking writer who finally took the plunge and wrote her first book. Her own stepbrother wasn't remotely good-looking, but the one she dreamed up for Step F*@k is absolutely DIVINE.

Scarlett hates long walks on the beach. That shit is hard. She prefers laying out by the pool with her laptop, writing her next story while working on her tan.

Review: Prick By Sabrina Paige

I can't stop thinking about that prick.

Caulter Sterling is a prick.

A filthy-mouthed, womanizing, crude, spoiled, arrogant prick.

The tattooed, pierced, panty-melting-hot son of a celebrity.

I hate him.

He's slept his way through practically every girl at Brighton Academy.

Except for me.

I'm the good girl. The responsible girl. The 4.0, class president, studied-so-much-she-never-lost-the-big-V girl.

And in celebration of graduation and adulthood, I just made the worst decision in the history of ever.

I lost my V-card to the devil himself.

It was just one night. So what if it was mind-blowing? Hit it and quit it.

Except I just found out that my father - the Senator, the Presidential hopeful - is marrying Caulter's mother. Oh, and this summer? We're hitting the campaign trail.

One big happy family.

I'm totally f**ked.
I’m not gonna lie, I love these Step-Brother themed books.  Now I am not saying that they are all good, because they are not, but Prick is one of my favorites so far.  It was the perfect mix of bad boy, good girl, smart assed comments back and forth and smoking hot that had me reaching for my husband.  I loved how both Caulter and Kate gave as good as they got.  I couldn’t imagine if it was me who just walked into my home and saw the prick that I gave my virginity to was the son of the woman my father planned to marry.  I think I would have lost my shit, then again I have a temper and I am not a good girl like Kate was, or well what she was outside of the bedroom, or the library, or the desk with Caulter.  I think you see my point.

What worked best for me was that while Caulter was a massive prick at times he also took care of Kate and protected her when needed.  Kate could be a bitch right back at him when he was earning his prick title but she wasn’t his doormat.

Okay can I just take a moment to appreciate the title?  Prick.  Yeah that is the inappropriate humor side of me coming through.  Plus I like saying prick so yeah I am going to use it a couple more times in my review of Prick.

Back to the serious book review of Prick.  Oh what the hell I am just going to say that if you are a fan of the Step-brother romance trend like I am then I promise you will love Prick and the prick who the book is about.  Sabrina Paige thank you for making my love of this trend even stronger.

Review: Step-Lover By: Bella Jewel

You’ll only ever have one forbidden love.

Care to know why?

Because when you find it, forbidden love that is, you’ll forget everything else. You’ll forget your first kiss. You’ll forget the first boy who made you smile. You’ll forget all the bad, and remember all the good. You’ll forget that it’s wrong. You’ll forget that it hurts. You’ll forget everything that came before him.

Forbidden love, it has a way of changing you. The secrets. The lies. The guilt. You want something so much you no longer care about the world around you. The passion takes away the pain. I’ve felt it. I’ve lived it. I didn’t need it, but it chose me.

I met him before I knew. I loved him before I knew.

I didn’t know that he was my stepbrother. I knew I had stepbrothers, but I didn’t know he was one of them. Now I know, I have to walk away. My mom, she deserves this happiness so much more than I do. If she ever knew…it would destroy her.

You have to understand why.

I saw my father die right in front of my tiny, eight year old eyes. He took my sister with him. All that’s left is my mother and I. She’s found her happy place, the only place she’s had since our worlds were destroyed.

So you see, I can’t have him.

I can’t want him.

But there’s this problem with passion, and love, and destiny.

It doesn’t give you a damned choice.

My Review

I just love it when two people who are meant to be together, even if their relationship may have people talking, and not in a good way, are able to beat the obstacles that stand in their way and get the happiness they deserve.  Add into that equation the latest trend, step sibling romances, something I honestly can say that I have loved reading about and for me I just can’t get enough.

Step-Lover has all the elements of a good step-brother/step-sister romance.  The step-brother is a total asshole that deserves numerous kicks in the balls for his behavior.  The step-sister who knows that people will talk about their relationship if it happens and fights her insecurities about it.  Something to keep them apart and then bring them together again.  And finally, and in my opinion one of the most important elements, sexual tension so explosive that your kindle can combust just by reading it.  So you are probably asking yourself what makes Step-Lover different from all of the other books out there like this.  Well for me it was the amount of angst that Bella Jewel just instinctively knows that will make her readers be unable to stop reading until the book is finished, it was also that there was more than just Blade and Aria’s story, there was also the lives of Blade’s brothers that were a big part of the story line. I was addicted to this story after just a few pages, and my addiction only continued to grow the further a read.  Blade was the perfect asshole step-brother, almost right up until the end.  I am not going to give spoilers away but there is one part that had my stomach in such a tight knot and my emotions on high alert that he seriously needed a swift kick to his balls.  Aria, I felt for her so much more than I thought I would have.  Her past will make you hold your loved ones a little closer and not want to let them go.

It is well known that I am a huge fan of Bella Jewel’s books, and she has added another hit to her list with Step-Lover.  I personally can’t wait for the books about Blade’s brothers to be written because these guys have a story to tell, ones I can’t wait to read.

Book Blitz and Giveaway: Stepbrother Mine By Mandy Lou Dowson

They were always taught that family was about more than blood, but when step-siblings Sophie Ellis and Logan Castle meet for the first time, their attraction is instantaneous. Forever trying to keep each other at arm's length, they discover that sometimes the best laid plans fall apart, when lovers fall together.

He's everything she's ever fantasized about, and everything she can never have.

She's all he's ever wanted, but never hoped to have.

Trying so hard to be his stepsister, she can't shake the attraction she feels.

He decides it's best to leave, but when circumstances see them reunite, and he discovers their initial attraction is still there after all the intervening years, he can't help himself. He has to have her.

Running scared, she cuts all ties.

Left behind, his bitterness grows.

When again circumstances force her back into his arms, her past comes back to haunt her.

He's determined to make her pay for leaving him.

Desires are forbidden. Loyalties are tested. Hearts are broken. And in the end, is love strong enough to conquer all?

**This book is a stand alone. It is not suitable for anyone under the age of 18, due to explicit scenes, language and situations.

When I first started Stepbrother, Mine I will admit I was sort of disappointed.  I have loved in previous books that the Stepbrother starts off as this massive asshole who makes his Stepsister’s life a living hell, blah, blah, blah and in this book it doesn’t start off like that.  Logan actually seemed to be a great guy.  Maybe it’s the twisted side of me but I was asking myself out loud, where is the asshole?  Well, we get him later on and holy shit he makes up for his lack of assholeism (yes I made up a word lol).  Now I can sort of understand why he was as big of an asshole that he was.  Yep I am actually standing up for the asshole.  What Sophie does was not just hurtful but in a way sort of cruel especially since their situation was different.  I’m not even sure if they would be considered stepsiblings anymore.  Sophie made me want to throat punch her multiple times.  I can understand her reluctance up until a point and after that point was reached I really didn’t feel much sympathy for her or her feelings at all.  But together?  These two are a bomb ready to explode from all the sexual tension that they have had since the minute they meet.

While I may have started off disappointed I finished liking the book very much.  Am I still a feeling the love for the stepsibling love craze?  Yes I am because with every new book that has come out, the variations in the storylines are what make me keep coming back for more.   Mandy Lou Dowson may become an author to watch out for, especially if she continues writing  books like Stepbrother, Mine that are on the edge of being taboo without actually crossing over that no go line.

Author Bio

Mandy Lou Dowson was born and raised in a small town in Ireland, in 1983, and at this stage in life, she's pretty sure the town won't let her leave. Family is a huge deal to Mandy. She has three wonderful children (most of the time), and two Siberian Huskies who are each as naughty as the other – in fact, she's sure they egg each other on in silly cartoon voices when nobody is looking.

“Climb out the window and get covered in mud.”

“No, I did it last time. You do it!”

“R'uh, r'oh, here SHE is. Shhh.”

~

When she's not writing, reading, or plotting her next book -- or, you know, world domination – , she likes to relax with a few glasses of wine and some karaoke. You can usually find her procrastinating on social media of some sort, chatting to fans and talking nonsense.

Mandy started reading at quite a young age and her appetite for the written word has only increased with time. It would not be at all surprising to find her reading anything and everything from shampoo bottles to Edgar Allan Poe.

She is the author of three different genres of romance books. The Moon Bound series, which is in the Paranormal Romance genre, and is gathering rave reviews, and the Taboo series, which is Contemporary with a hint of the forbidden, the first of which has gathered very mixed reviews across the board, from one extreme to the other.

She has also made a foray into Dark Romance recently, with her first title in the genre, Retribution, releasing in Summer 2015.

Release Day Blitz: Monster Stepbrother By: Harlow Grace

His dark obsession runs deep.

How does a girl go from being her Daddy’s precious baby doll to feeling like a filthy whore?

Easy really. When my father remarries it changes the course of my life and everything becomes . . . complicated.

My new stepbrother is a monster who hates me. Unapologetic, controlling and brazen he’s intent on making my life a living hell. Blackmails me into doing things I never thought I’d do. Illicit things.

Oliver King makes the rules. He f*cks me whenever he wants. How he wants. Where he wants.

My head screams this is wrong, yet I can't resist giving in to forbidden desires.

I’m his possession, his toy — his ultimate pleasure.

He’s never letting me go. I’m his dark obsession.

My dirty addiction to my stepbrother grows to a dangerous level. Am I sick to crave more from the man who has made me his slut? Or should I escape and run as far away as possible?

My name is Maya Childs and this is my story.

Dark erotic novel that contains sensitive subject matter that may make readers uncomfortable. Not appropriate for readers under 18. Contains explicit language and descriptions of sexual situations and violence.

I will be the first to admit that I am hooked on this step-sibling love trend, maybe it is that people consider it taboo, or risky but I love it.  I also like reads that are a little darker so add the two together and I was like “Hell Yes sign my book loving ass up!” and I can say that Monster Stepbrother did not disappoint.  It has that angsty, emotional, keep you on the edge of your seat type of feel and not because you know it will be a sexy read, because it was, no it is because you don’t know what nasty comment that Oliver is going to say or what he is going to do next that keeps you on edge.

Oliver King is best describes as one of the biggest assholes ever when it comes to not just how he treats his stepsister Maya but because of how he treats others as well.  He is angry, hurt and slowly, ever so slowly do you start to see that he doesn’t hate Maya like he seems.  Oh no, he wants his step-sister something fierce but you don’t see that it’s so much more than just wanting to get her on the closest flat surface and have his way with her.  It’s deeper.

Maya has tried to get Oliver to see her as more than just the whore he assumes that she is.  What he doesn’t know is that Maya wants him, even when he has broken her down to the point of no return, she still is in love with him.  Too bad he won’t look at her like anything more than what he has assumed.  My heart broke for her multiple times while reading this book.

I laughed, I cried, oh did I cry, I cursed Oliver one minute and smiled the next when he would do something to show he wasn’t the asshole he acted like.  This is a darker read, one that isn’t all sweet and happiness.  No there is verbal abuse, suicide, and heart break, but there is also healing, love and forgiveness.  Monster Stepbrother is one that I will not be forgetting any time soon and I suggest that if darker reads are your thing then add this one to your TBR lists.

Review: Stepbrother Dearest by Penelope Ward

You shouldn’t want the one person who treats you like he hates you, you shouldn’t want the person who picks on you to torment you and you shouldn’t want your step brother, no matter how hot and sexy he is.  But for Greta, she couldn’t help wanting him, even when she knows that it will end up breaking her heart.

Greta’s mother and Elec’s father are married.  Greta never had an issue with her stepfather, well that was until Elec moved in and began a part of their lives.  From the minute that Greta meets him she just knows behind that asshole exterior and bad boy front he puts on that there is more to him.  Elec can push her buttons and loves to piss her off, but Greta can’t help how attracted she is to her stepbrother dearest.  Greta at times is really surprised at how Elec is treated by his father and knows that there is something going on and can only hope that one day Elec will open up to her.

Elec came into the home pissed off.  There is a story behind it all, one that really is heartbreaking, and while he may like to make Greta’s life hell at times, there is more to his feelings as well.  He knows though that getting involved with her would be a bad idea and does try to keep that from happening.  He knows that his time there is short, even shorter than was originally planned.  But, he has the same feelings for Greta and she does him but will he be able to do anything about it is the question.

Holy shit, these two have some major chemistry going on and when they have to part and don’t see each other until years later you are like WTF, but don’t worry my fellow readers, while at first you may be pissed at their reunion. I know I wanted to smack Elec for a little while there.  What they go through is emotional and at times your heart breaks but you just know that these two are meant to be.

This story is told in two parts; the past and then the present and is told mostly from Greta’s point of view but we do get to see Elec’s later on as well.  I loved getting to see Elec’s side of events later on, it made me love him even more.

While some people may expect more of a taboo type of read based on the title, it is so much more than just a relationship between step siblings.  I honestly devoured it and couldn’t put it down.  It drew me in and kept my attention throughout the entire book.  It was sweet, sexy, funny, had angst and overall was a great book.  I highly recommend Stepbrother Dearest to everyone.

Cover Reveal: Stepbrother Dearest by Penelope Ward

Release Date: September 2014

You’re not supposed to want the one who torments you.

When my stepbrother, Elec, came to live with us my senior year, I wasn’t prepared for how much of a jerk he’d be.

I hated that he took it out on me because he didn’t want to be here.
I hated that he brought girls from our high school back to his room.
But what I hated the most was the unwanted way my body reacted to him.

At first, I thought all he had going for him were his rock-hard tattooed abs and chiseled face. Then, things started changing between us, and it all came to a head one night.

Just as quickly as he’d come into my life, he was gone back to California.

It had been years since I’d seen Elec.

When tragedy struck our family, I’d have to face him again.

And holy hell, the teenager who made me crazy was now a man that drove me insane.

I had a feeling my heart was about to get broken again.

Stepbrother Dearest is a standalone novel.
