Sometimes what you want the most isn’t what you
need. After years of pining for her brother’s best friend, Victoria is starting
to realize perhaps they are not meant to be. But when a new guy enters her
life, she’s reluctant to open her heart and put herself out there. Problem is,
her heart failed to get the message.
Jason doesn’t trust easily and he sure as hell
doesn’t fall in love. Ever. Having been dealt a horrible hand very early in
life has hardened him. Where one might see beauty and hope, Jason sees all the
ugly in the world, until Victoria. She breathes new life into him. Alters his
world. And he fights against it to the very end.
Burn For You unfolded into a beautiful story of
growth and healing. I fell for Victoria and Jason as a couple before even they
realized they needed to be one. The interactions between them were sweet and
left me eager for them to have that come-to-Jesus moment and see that they
belonged together. I understood Victoria’s wariness to go for it. Her judgement
was clouded in herself after years of dealing with her brother’s best friend
that treated her like a doormat–always there in whatever capacity he needed.
When the real thing finally came into her life, she was blind to it. Same with
Jason, I’m not going to spoil it for you. You have to read this one to see for
yourself the damage done to this amazing, beautiful man. Even with everything
he’s been through in life and his outlook on love, he has a good heart. He just
needed someone to show him that he is deserving of so much more.
“You’re the most important something in my world.”
Synopsis
Vic Russo is just one of the
guys. Except she’s not a guy. A paramedic, affectionately known as Vic within
her firehouse, Victoria is a permanent fixture in the friend zone. But when her
childhood crush, firefighter Graham McAndrew, becomes single once again, she
decides enough is enough. It’s time for Graham to see her as the woman she’s
become. There’s only one problem. A photo of her in the arms of another man has
captured the nation’s attention.
Jason Meadows is not thrilled to have his police work interrupted by a small media craze. In fact, he’d be content never to see Victoria or that photo-gone-viral again. But a series of fires in town, paired with a growing attraction to the quirky paramedic, make staying away impossible.
Determined to ferret out a potential killer, Jason enlists Victoria’s help as his eyes and ears inside the firehouse. And while threats rise from within, Victoria is forced to choose between the love of her past and the man who’s ignited her fire within.

master's degree in Human Development Counseling and enjoys using counseling
theories on her fictional characters (and from time to time her husband).
She draws inspiration for her
stories from life experience, and when writing, she frequently asks her police
officer husband for his input on all things law enforcement. They've agreed not
to discuss the bits of advice she doesn't take when it doesn't serve her plots
well, and this makes for a very harmonious marriage.
