Trace Kogan will go to any length to protect those who need protecting. That is the business he is in; the business his father, Casper Kogan, started with Bryce Trexler more than thirty-five years ago. Trace spends day and night eliminating threats to clients, so when the danger hits too close to home, he won’t let anything come between him and the woman who desperately needs his help.
His fear… the physical reaction he has to Marissa may pose a bigger danger than the ghost that they find themselves up against.
Marissa Trexler has spent the last twelve months of her life in hiding, tucked away in one safe house after another for her own protection. The threat to her is real even if the reason is still unknown. Strangely, whoever is after her seems to find her no matter where she goes, leading her family to believe it’s an inside job.
So when the decision is made that Trace will provide personal protection, she can’t say no, even if being close to him adds another level of danger… and this one is to her heart.
When I found out about a new series from Nicole Edwards was
coming out I may or may not have done an embarrassing happy dance. I can’t help it, I have loved Nicole Edwards’
books in the past and was excited about her going in a little different
direction than her fans are all used to.
So the big questions that I know you will want answered are was it worth
the risk she took to write something different than she has in the past and did
I as a fan of her previous works like it.
Let me answer the first question now. Was it worth the risk to write something
different than what as fans have come to love about Nicole Edwards books? Yes, yes a million times yes. Don’t get me wrong I love all of the sexiness
and panty wetting sex scenes that we have all come to love and expect from her
books, but Wait For Morning has
proven that she can go beyond that scope of erotica and write a damn good suspenseful
romance read that had me staying up late to read and ignoring my family when I
just needed to read more before I could put it down.
Now to answer the second question on your minds. Did I as a fan of her previous books like it
as much as the others? Again I want to
shout yes over and over again. Was it
perfect? Of course not and let me try to
explain a little why it wasn’t. Like all
starts to a new series a lot of ground work must be done to introduce
characters, settings and really introduce the readers to the world that is
being portrayed. At times that process can
be drawn out a little long and for me that happened with Wait For Morning but it didn’t take away so much that I got
bored. I love seeing a new series be set
up but at the same time I just wanted to get to the heart of it all if that
makes sense. I just wanted to know what
was going to happen next and for me that is what makes a book great. Having your readers needing to know right
then means that you are so into the book that nothing in the real world around
you matters and for me that is what happened while I was reading.
I want to read more of this new series and if Nicole Edwards
continues to excel at moving into different genres like she has so far, then us
as readers will have a lot of great books to be watching for in the
future. I hope that Nicole Edwards fan
will take the risk and end up loving Wait
For Morning as much as I have.
