Sophie Garner is a single mom who’s been raising her daughter on her own, fighting for both of their lives ever since going into hiding to escape her abusive husband.
When Sophie gets offered the job of a lifetime as the exclusive massage therapist for Josh “The Jackhammer” North’s team, it’s difficult to say no to the outrageous salary—and the bet—that Josh proposes. But for Sophie it’s a risk that could cost a lot more than just her heart – if she’s found, it could cost her her life.
Should she dare?
Josh wants to break through Sophie’s fortified walls, but is unwilling to put the jackhammer to his own and reveal his secrets and the side of him few have ever known or seen. To do that, he’ll have to confront the darkness of his past.
Will he dare?

Maybe I am just a sucker for a MMA fighter who also happens
to be a firefighter, or maybe it is that Josh does have a past that isn’t all
rainbows and unicorns, or it could be that the way he is with Sophie and her
daughter just melted my heart and made me fall in love with him. Honestly it was all those things and more
that had me loving Dare. From the first page I was drawn into their
story. I automatically felt for both
Josh and Sophie for how their pasts have defined who they are but have made
them better people and not the bitter, angry people that it could have. I am not going to give their pasts away, but
when you finally get the entire truth of both of their pasts if you don’t feel
any sympathy then, well maybe you should be checked to make sure you do
actually have a heart.
Dare is the first
book in the Brothers of Ink and Steel
series and I really loved this book and beginning to the series. I have a feeling that each future book will
be better and better and maybe even more heart breaking with these guys. Dare
shows that your past doesn’t define what your future can be if you don’t let
it. I hope the next book is released
soon because I personally want more of these men.
